He had gotten the club so far behind him in an attempt to syncronize forearm rotation with his arm swing on the way back. When you do that, mishits and the occasional wild block, or violent hook are the result.
this device is great for the lower handicap player who has had some success manipulating the clubface and has lost their way because of it.
