Mr. Voltaire if possible could you show us members of the world how to play either Innocent or The Night. The guitarwork on both of these songs sound amazing and I have spent many an hour listening to them and the rest of your music. Thank you for considering my request. Also, I'm curious if you have any ideas on what songs you plan to use for the next friday the 13th AQW release? Thank you in advance for any response
Most of the songs off of "Almost Human" were fantastic. "The Night" is probably my favorite song, although "Feathery Wings" is also wonderful. I'd love to see how those two are played! And thank you for starting with "Ex-Lover's Lover"!
I got here from "The Dirtiest Song That Ain't", where I was happy to find that in reply to one of the comments you have posted the chords. And I would very much like to learn "The Dirtiest Song That Ain't". I am having some difficulty working out how the chords change there. And an argument for doing it is - it uses the same chords, so whoever learned Ravens Land will already know the chords ; )
Voltaire you are an inspiration to me. No really. When I decided to enter a short story competition, it was your music that made all the difference. I didn't have any idea what to write. They wanted entries under 1500 words, much shorter than I was used to using to make anything good. Then The Night came on and I suddenly had my story. That was a year ago and I still think that tiny piece is one of the best things I've ever written. Thank you for that.
I would like to know how you play Almost Human. That has to be my FAVORITE song by you ever. It slightly reminds me of Frankenstein's monster's perspective of life.
This is my favourite song, it has always been my favourite song <3
You are mi inspiration, your music helped me pass through the depression, when my only
girlfriend leaved me because of me being the idiot I am. Snakes, this sea, raven's land, ex lover's lover, where's the girl, Anastasia (I even named my guiatr anastasia because of this song), bachelor(ette), they all helped me through that pit of depression, your music helped me not to cry, not a single time, but sleep and dream.
This is my favourite song, it has always been my favourite song <3

I know i sound pathetic but... I literally bolted for my guitar when i saw this posted. By the way could you teach "The Man Upstairs" or "Snakes"? I really enjoy listening to your first album.
Your music is an inspiration to me and i can play half the songs on riding a black unicorn and a couple on devils bris but i am wondering in your next guitar lesson could you teach BRAINS! ?
Speaking of waltzes, how bout showing us the Headless Walz song! :D :D It's catchy. Or the Vampire Club! Between those two I'd prefer the Vampire Club! :D
OK lil' Voloty, how bouts showing hot to play "She's Glowing"?
Ahh, I kid... But one day I would like another "then and again" type cd with all your odds songs and other un-released or unrecorded b-sides.there is like 6 Odds songs not on that maxi single that WAIT! YOU COULD CALL IT:
I wish I had half the musical talent you do, regrettably, what I can do doesn't extend to writing anything remotely good. I would love to learn "Riding a Black Unicorn" by the way.
I'd like to learn how to play "This ship's going down." I'm constantly singing it, so I'd benefit from actually learning it. But, me being the idiot savant that I am. It might take me a couple of views...
Hello Mr. Voltaire. You have been one of the biggest inspirations to me since elementary school. As an aspiring artist and fundamentally fantastic adventurer of horror and the like I would like to meet you. Not certainly in person, but artist to much more experienced artist. If anything just to chat about musical and film ambitions and such. If I have to prove myself with a song I am most certainly fine with that. -Jake (a.k.a Evermore)
@theworldisugly1331 In a perfect world, I could sit and talk at great length with you and everyone else individually, however that would be counter productive because then I CERTAINLY would not have the kind of time I invest into making the music, films, books, toys, etc.. that people want to talk to me about! lol! And so we have public forums where one person's question, when answered, sate the curiosity of many. I'm afraid that short of talking to me at a show, that will have to do for now.
@VoltaireMusicPage Thank you for replying! I most certainly understand. Hell, I barely have time to shave anymore and I'm not even close to being in anything like the situation you are... yet. I live rather close to the usual Dragon Con location. I guess I will see you there. Maybe even show you a song or two.
Thank you, V. I'm sure you guessed that I'm Star from San Diego, since I bug you to play that song every time I see you. LOL I didn't know why you always didn't want to. Now I do and won't bug you anymore. *Huggles*
@VoltaireMusicPage Hey man, Pandora categorizes your music ( many of them, including Ravens Land) as having "Punk Roots." I just thought this might be something you'd like to know since I can't really hear any Punk Roots in this album :P
what the..wow! you're simply great! ;) now, can you teach us how to play the song "party rock" with the guitar? ahaha lol But i'd really be happy if the next one is "Happy Birthday (My Olde Friend)" or "Death Death (Devil, Devil, Evil, Evil, Song)"...of course if it's possible, as these songs needs to be rearranged a bit i think..
(Thank you for all you give us with your music!! keep being like this) :D
I've been trying to tab out Headless Waltz violin parts for guitar... It's an awesome song, I wanted to do a rock cover of it with my band :D I figured out its in D Harmonic Minor and the main violin riff, but I just can't figure out what the violins are playing when Voltaire starts singing. It is very difficult XD
Could you please show us how to play Innocent? That song really means alot to me ever since I first heard it :) All the songs that are about bullying Innocent is the one I can relate to the most :) I´m so thankfull you wrote it
@VoltaireMusicPage Sorry for bringing it up then, was just looking at chord pages and seen it pop up and thought it was weird that I never heard it before D: Thanks for the vid though ;D!!
In moments like this I regret not being able to play any instrument. Well, at least I can enjoy awesomeness of others. Cool sweater or whatever evil clothing that is.
Hurrah for songs I can actually play without having at stare at my poster of chords of hours! Now I can finally brush the cobwebs off my guitar =D I vote for When Your Evil in the next video.
Brains! It's just the style of the song I want to hear for the rest of my life; and it was the song that got me hooked onto you in Oman, in the Middle East!
(Thank you Cartoon Network for guiding me to a kickass musician and professor of stop-motion animation!)
I've been playing since well I tuned my guitar and I can't get the right pitch to be honest, anyone shed some light same tuning I'm assuming full step down to D aye :3 ? and I can't get that proper Ring to it and it's Very Very discerning ;_;
I WOULD say 'The Night' although you seem to be going in order of easyness, and you teaching us any songs is way better than none, so keep doing what'cha do.
@Kukkii1337 oh, I still can't get the hang of it either. Course, I'm on an electric. I just meant that the instructions were easy to understand. I really am rather rubbish, but at least I get the idea pretty easily.
Third of all, although i usually listen to your songs and learn them by ear, could you please do Graveyard Picnic, Feathery Wings, Innocent? Theyre a few favourites amongst many, many, many, many of my favourites of your songs!
I'm slowly learning how to use my guitar with your videos better than hours and hundreds of dollars wasted on a teacher who just talked. Thanks Voltaire!! <3 <3
Thanks Voltaire!!!! Your really awesome!!! I still remember the time my auntie and I met you in Montreal!! Your very inspirational and can you please teach us how to play Cannibal Buffet??? Or Wake the Dead (Oh Lord)???
There are so many songs I could suggest here, but I would really like to learn Anniversary by September 14th. I'm pretty sure it's self-explanatory as to why. I hope to one day play that song at my wedding. I love all of your music.
Oh Goody, another episode of everybody's favorite show. HOW TO PLAY [Voltaire]. And you're wearing the famous sweater. I saw this video and when i came to, i was sitting back at my computer with my guitar in my lap. How do you do it?
You should play SNAKES next
At this point Voltaire, you should probably just go through the "Devil's Bris" album first, and then move onto another album, tackle that, then rinse and repeat.
How about something from the album Boo Ho? Brains! would be a really fun song to learn for Halloween. . . or any other brain eating occasion for that matter.
I would really be grateful, if you can make "how to play: happy birthday [my olde friend]" There's my grandma's birthday coming up soon, and we both like your music.
You make me want to buy a guitar.... what model is that one again? <.< OH! I would like When your Evil as well. Thank you, sir, you are a scholor, a gentleman, and a paragon of the darkness.

Voltaire do you have any songs you'd recommend to a bass novice?
DerpSquid 1 month ago
There are so many songs I could suggest here, but I would really like to learn Anniversary by September 14th. I'm pretty sure it's self-explanatory as to why. I hope to one day play that song at my wedding. I love all of your music.

@VoltaireMusicPage yes, B7 is very melancholic chord, doesn't matter how you tune your guitar -nod-

I can't wait to see you back in Australia next month; my mum really wants you to release a karaoke CD, but maybe if I just learn the songs myself...
