well just finished the killing joke.. i am extremely let down. both characters werent in character the whole time and its like alan moore ranting about the same old stuff, thats every alan moore book. none of them are even good to read.. annoying.

Actually, the Joker said himself that the "past" that was told in that comic, is not the real one. Joker is so screwed up that he doesn't even remember his own past, that's why he says in the comic "he likes to have multiple choices" which means that he has different stories about his own past. This was only one of them. So pretty much the Joker still remains as a mystery.

Damn man you actually said it like I would i loved your review, and I really admire alan moore Im a big joker fan also cosplay winner (for the cosplay of joker) also a huge watchmen fan and I like dyour review of watchmen also .. Well I love the comic and it doesnt really tells everything and the dark knight joker (heath) based most of it on this joker (you know the stories of his scars he says in the comic the joker says "If Im going to have a past I prefer it to be multiple choice")

Yes I agree. I bought it yesterday and finsihed it in about 30 minutes (I don't know if thats good or not. LOL. But to my point when I first bought it I thought oh this is so small its probably gonna be crap but I actually really enjoyed it

have to say you touched on something very true about the book then just didn't take it out far enough. That being that the book isn't a Joker origin, people really get on it about that and completely disregard that Moore discounts it as an origin later in the story. The multiple choice line is intended to show us that the flash backs are just what he was thinking of that day. Like I said you mentioned that it's very ambiguous but you didn't bring it all the way out. But I agree that its to short

I finally read this recently, and I couldn't believe I was done with it before I left work. Super short and kinda overrated. But good. Dark Knight movie stuff can also be found in YEAR ONE and THE LONG HALLOWEEN. Two books I bought after Killing Joke because it was so short I was cracked out for more Batman.

Nothing aganist Alan Moore... I mean I know that he is the writer of Watchmen... But Killing Joke just fell short for me... When you put it up aganist JOKER form Brian Azzarello theres no question which is better and it isnt Killing Joke...

Feel sorry for you man... Joker had a better story, better art and just about better everything.... Killing Joke had an all right story and ok art... Both are good in there own way... But JOKER is so much better in its own way...

I will admit the art was better but the story was stupid, Azzarello did great with Lex and this would have been good if it was a different person or his own character, but his Joker writing sucked. 1 Joker doesn't cry, 2 unless he's leading him somewhere he doesn't run from batman. The joker character in Joker could have been replaced by any sociopath, in tkj it was pure Joker

Really I liked that they had Joker cry because it gives him more character and the fact that he was hugging Harley in the scene made it even more touching... An Joker nailed Joker head on if you ask me how he robbed the liqour store at random and killed the old couple that Joker.... He the man without a plan... Oh and Joker has run away form Batman before... But your right he leads him somewhere in most cases....

"He the man without a plan" this was stated in TDK "officially" as "Do I really look like a guy with a plan?" and is really misinterpreted. Joker makes plans, just has no ultimate goal or plan is the idea. Brian went the other way with it and made him just a random striking nut. Most of the stuff Joker did in that book he would do, but the reasons he did it in JOKER is so off character. In JOKER he did everything for territory and 2face's respect. Joker does everything for Bats.
