  • For anyone who is interested in learning the piano part for this song.. I teach a tutorial on my channel for it. Check it out.

  • @tyleryesta1 YEAH, MAN!!!!!!!! I'm just having a great time learning this song! I'm a beginner, but i allready can play a little part of the U.S. Blues... But I will learn the whole song! Never felt so good while leraning to play the keyboard like with your lesson! Your videos are great! You teach very well! And you play amazing too. Thanks for these lessons. You're my hero! :D Sorry for bad english. I will massage you when I'm ready. It will take a little while. Thanks a lot!

  • @DSKnapierdala Thats great news man, I'm really happy for you. Its comments like this that inspire me to do more so thanks for that. Although learning this may take a little while, once you get it down, the next one will be that much easier. Keep me posted and let me know if you have any questions at all.

  • Ya gotta love the chicken shack guy...and Phil's beard of course

  • I love this! Seeing everyone having such a great time just put a huge smile on my face!

  • i watched this movie on shrooms it was awesome!

  • Nobody cares how old you are. It doesn't make you a bigger fan than us young folks. Thanks.

  • Hey NOW! I Reading these comments and all, I hear you kids yearning for this kind of trip to return. It's up to you guys. Get involved in promoting honesty. The Grateful Dead were not "perfect", but they were certainly delivering honest music and vibes. I was way up in the balcony for this gig and it IS one of my best memories. In my estimation, well you WERE 'there' too. Only it's now. I can remember thinking " I wish everyone could be here". I got my wish.

  • AT 2:18 GREG BRADY SLIDES IN THERE~~ hehehe JOHNNY BRAVO ;)

  • Very good live performance

  • With the Occupy movements we're moving towards a more a hippy USA and we should acknowledge our forebearers at the height of their powers. More to the point this is the Grateful Dead when they were the best band around.

  • hearing this and seeing the people just puts the biggest smile on my face ever. I guess it's time i rose out of my seat and moved my feet :-D

  • the sound is bad on this one.

  • Love The Dead.

    I love Deadheads even More!

  • acids a hell of a drug

  • damn hippies everywhere

  • i prefer 80s-90s live Dead...yes their 60s-70s stuff has more raw youth energy but I prefer their more mature "weathered" sound, like an old sailor...Without A Net is a good example

  • i love phils beard :)

  • thats funny seeing ramrod in the overalls dance

  • I met the guy in the front row the night before. We made sure we were UP for this show.

  • This was my 2nd show. Life is good.

  • Everyone is definitely feeling really happy and probably super high! Hahaha, this video is amazing! Live in grateful dead!

  • Summer goes quick. The Dead are part of of a consciousness that will be understood

  • You all think you think. Too much.

  • rip jerry august 9. 2010

  • nice quality

  • Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right

  • Listen to the cd of this song on the Mars Hotel release for those who don't like the video

  • HAPPY FOURTH!!! God Bless You Mr. Garcia!!! MISS YOU

  • Happy 4th everybody

  • well, I can't understand how anybody could prefer "Jedi A-holes" to "Touch of Grey", "Uncle John's Band", "Sugar Magnolia", "Scarlet Begonias" or "US Blues", Miguv. You don't seem to like music with especially complex lyrics. "Clap" for example isn't a bad instrumental but no where nearly as good as all the Yes songs with lyrics could have picked. I'm guessing you worry too much about what other people may think of your musical tastes which explains your problem with the Dead pretty much,

  • Never understood why people like the Dead. I've listened to some songs my deadhead friends gave me. I just don't get it. I wont disrespect cause I can appreciate all forms of music even if I dont like it. They're just not my style of music.

  • A great way to start my 4th of July weekend. God Bless The Good Old Grateful Dead!! Miss 'em so much.

  • best part is @ 2:36

  • 0:48 john lennon likes the grateful dead

  • @anbui123

Haha it looks like him eh?

  • @darkwolfdv The way the cameraman zoomed in on him, I'm thinking it probably was Lennon.

Great video Jeff, how did you know my fave Dead song? P.S. just subscribed.

  • @Bluesman63

Could be but I doubt it. You gotta remember 1974 was right after Beatlemania, if Lennon was in the room the audience would have half forgotten about the Dead and swarmed around Lennon. Also he would have had bodyguards out the wazoo. Plus I could be wrong but I don't think he was much into the Dead... and it would have been widely reported regarding that show, and would have been mentioned in the movie. I think they zoomed in because it was a look-alike.

  • @Bluesman63 Its not lennon they interview that guy in the Grateful Dead Movie specifically at 1:03:56. Boom roasted.

  • @xrInstrumentals Thanks for the info man! That guy looks like he could be John's long lost brother. The mid 70's were some wild times for Lennon - following the Dead seemed plausible during this period.

  • @Bluesman63 no prob bob. Unfortunately for me i was born in 93 and caught the tail end of the scene.

  • @xrInstrumentals you were born in 1993 and caught the tail end of the scene?

  • @bookbm yeah man are u confused?

  • @bookbm yeah man are u confused?

  • Long Live the Deads music

  • the dude at 2:32 is the best part of the video

  • i miss jerry ): im crying right now. i never even got to see a dead show cause what were my parents doing while jerry died? having sex and making me!!! why couldn't i be born in the 55 or something and grew up in the 60's?

  • The guy who slides in frame at 2:18 is

    A. my idol

    B. Tripping balls

    C. Me at the next Furthur show!

  • They don't have concerts like this anymore... :(

I mean, these days you have to actually CARE about how you look when you go outside. But look at the audience here. Wearing bits and pieces of clothing, and on drugs. Not a care in the world, just enjoying the music and the atmosphere.

  • @degree7 You don't have to care. If I went everyday caring what society thought about how I dressed and looked I'd be one stressed out dude. Just do what makes you happy, not other people brother!

  • @degree7 you my friend live in a fucked up world

  • Those chicken shacks were located in Canada. Great tune with meaning

  • At 51, I'd trade in my potential lifespan to go back and do just 74 to 84 all over again. Best time of my life. And I have done pretty well for myself since, but my soul and the pure joy of those days will never be matched. Not enough money in the world to buy what was free back then. I need a miracle!

  • @thegunnydog something about 74 to 84....not the same since

  • Habeas corpus, a Latin term meaning "you have the body"

I have an idea that the president has Bin Laden body stuffed

  • I am greatful now that they are dead! Hippie crap and yes i have been to a dead show. Toasted cheese for a buck bro, wanna suck a nitrous ballon, who needs a shower anyway?

  • It's hard NOT to smile everytime I see this video.......the cartoon is amazing, of course and then seeing the crowd/band interaction.....the guy singing while standing right in front of the stage.........right on!

  • my buddy howard is in this video, we lost him a couple years back, it makes me cry and smile when i see it. i miss you and i love you how-weird

  • @pretaliation, I am a DeadHead. I have been to 10 + shows, not impressive by some standards but, I'VE SEEN THEM LIVE. I Love the Grateful Dead ! I also love Iron Maiden, Metallica,Black Sabbath, Ect. I am not a "Heavy Metal Moron" I love GOOD Music in Any form.

  • The Dead with Dylan at The Meadowlands was a great show in the80's. I also saw them at Raceway Park in NJ. All my friends got together and we had a rockin' great time.

  • Why is everyone so angry and bringing so much negativity to this page. The Grateful Dead was put on this earth for people of every generation to enjoy. I'm 20 years old, and can say without hesitation that the Grateful dead have changed my life and made me feel like I have purpose. It clicked for me when i was 15 years old. I never got to see a dead show but Jerry visits me in my dreams. For me, it isn't about the drugs. It's about Jerry's wonderfully melodic lines, and their prolific words.

  • Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right. Hunter/Garcia

  • seriously how many kids do you know today that would listen to this or go to this concert?

  • Best Dead Clip ever. I saw it years ago and it never loses the bite

  • ST STEPHEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE this!!!!!! Thanks!

  • Oh come on, guys- you are criticizing the youth of today like your parent's generation criticized you!!! Don't hate, celebrate, brotha! Remember love and peace?

  • @TheIzzymuse No, they're right, I'm from that generation and it really fucking sucks.

  • @friscobay01 Seconded. I'm from that generation as well and I say criticize away- there's not much to celebrate.

  • @friscobay01 tup...everyone is tryin' to "make it"

  • @TheIzzymuse Nice one I am 53 and I still wince when I recall fashions and trends from my youth, but fuckit young people are entitled to hold different opinions just as us oldies are entitled to talk bullshit. Peace and best wishes to you and yours.

  • @TheIzzymuse

    This is fucking awesome!!!!

  • fuckin right

  • I managed to miss these shows. I was in the Coast Guard... :(... but we did get 1st dibs on all the good stuff... even if it was a bit damp.

  • @PubliusNV yer so lucky,god I wish I was there.May the dead live forever!!

  • @RDJx561 The Dead did 5 shows in October, and we thought they might be their last. I sat outside Winterland for hours to get tickets, and managed to see 3 of the 5 shows. They filmed parts of it, which later made "The Grateful Dead Movie" released in 1977. I remember it like it was yesterday. Long live the Dead!
