I also watched the British Marines do this in a matching band--outstanding --check "Beating Retreat 2009." The channel is CandH0001----or something like this.
@Saartje05 of course i am an ass, the only good imitation was made by john williams, he learnt from maestro rozsa.....this man is just triying to inpress,.....
@prudenceislandboy I took violin lessons for eight years, and if my teacher (who's a close friend) ever caught me pulling some of the moves that André did in this video, she'd probably have to resist the urge to strangle me. I'd probably get a very stern lecture. And my violin is only about a quarter of the age of André's, and nowhere near as valuable (a couple thousand bucks--André plunked down about $2 million, or €1.5 million). You just don't treat musical instruments like that.
Magnificent! Ben Hur is to this day one of the greatest films ever made and the score has to be the best of all time. Absolutely amazing performance!!!
I agree with another poster here... little to fast, and no tempo variation... but great anyway... super fun to see so many brass players in the street! Wow.
So this is the last hymn and military marsch just before tha Christianism began its unhonorable, culture-destroying activities.
This music is the last human music. After 456 AD we can't speak about mankind until the new age. But the real golden age was finished when Constantinus raised the christanism to a status as state religion. That was the greatest failure ever! Hail Rome!
That's the ancient Roman hymn...as I know, that's an original music, Miklos Rozsa found it and he made from this a parade music. But it's the hymn of the Imperial Rome in the first century.
i like it this performance the sound the instruments for that reason ben hur won many academic awards in specially for this sound track its a too sad miklos rozas is not in this world anymore
Outstanding! I thought I had seen & felt the power of music before but the level of unified and synchronous energy delivered here will have to be described by someone far more eloquent than I. That disciplined&trained individuals could bring to focus such an outpouring in one location speaks well for the human race indeed.
@Altitudo128 11 trombones not 76 but they usually have 4 1:55 6 french horns 1:50 how come the audiance is always 2:07 red 2:02 now i get 12 trombones
