Hey Elliot just subscribed as i been watching your videos for a long time im coming up 19 and been powerlifting/strongman training for about 2 years now and had some great gains in weight and strength and im really happy with my gains ive found myself as i go on the gains obviously are getting slower and slower would you recomend to keep going and going pushing and pushing or maybe changing something in my routine or eating wise ? if not steroids is a question i dont support them atall ?
i keep hearing that exessive masturbation can make you selfish and needy etc...is it because of what you said about over stimulation of the "grounding" and self ?
More Honest feedback - However i do think that we lack a focus on interpersonal and intrapersonal health which can be achieved in many spiritual ways or ways that involve no spirituality what so ever.
Honest feedback - please don't talk about quantum physics (or rather what some people are ascribing to quantum physics to make what they have to say sound 'sciencey'). UFT isn't about a unity of interconnectivity. It's an explanation of how matter and different forms of energy are made of the same 'stuff' (gross oversimplification I know). Quantum Entanglement is what you mean and that theory is a long, long way from 'everything's connected'.
It is funny how many people say they do not believe in God, but rather science. Science constantly changes and contradicts itself. Scientist used to believe that there were only a million or so stars. Later they said billions. Now they acknowledge they can not even count them (ironically like the Bible says). Much of today “science” will be considered wrong in the coming generation. Interestingly enough 2 current laws (science that can be proven) contradict 2 very popular scientist Theories:
@yyportne The 1st Law of Thermodynamics states: Energy can be neither created nor destroyed, it can only change forms. This contradicts the big bang theory that says everything came from nothing. The 2nd Law states: entropy increases in natural processes and is a measure of disorder in the universe. Entropy, being negative and wasteful energy, shows mathematically, chemically, etc, that things only get worse over time, NOT better as the ever so popular theory of evolution would have you believe
@yyportne I am a scientist (engineer) by vocation and I believe in God and the Bible. Sorry, but they are not mutually exclusive.
Elliott, great video! You should have the freedom to use the word God in your videos just like atheists have the freedom to ignore it. Personally I do not see a need/reason for ever atheist to tell us they don’t believe in God in just about every video you make where you mention Him. Besides you always say you can call Him what you want.
@yyportne Firstly the Big Bang theory doesn't state that everything came from nothing. Secondly the 2nd law in no way prohibits localised complexity. This is pretty basic stuff that anyone who actaully looked at what the science ACTUALLY says as opposed to they think it says would know. Also please don't confuse cosmology, abiogenesis and evolution and expect that any objection to one would have any bearing on the others.
@yyportne The reason science changes itself is because it does not claim to know the "truth" only theories. Theories are a work in progress as every answer brings another question. The search for knowledge is an infinite frontier that expands with every answer. One who claims to know the "truth" is lying to u or to themselves. The bible is full off contradictions too. Do you really believe the universe is static, 10,000 years old and made by a man who lives in "heaven" in 7 days?
@onetao8 Many scientists promote theories as absolute “truth” (ie evolution, global warming, etc). I was told by my biology professor that 99.999% of the scientific community believes in evolution. 1st off that is far from true (and he know it), 2nd it showed me that they will blindly follow their religion (and it is a religion, make no mistake). Do you really believe you are related to monkeys? Better yet, related to pond scum hit by lightning in an atmosphere with high levels of O2???
@onetao8 Also, I would bet you have never even read much less studied the Bible (am I wrong?) so any “contradictions” you think you know came from someone else. Send me (directly) a “contradiction” and I will show you how it is not really a contradiction. I am not trying to be a dick but the reality is I have read more on evolution (from all viewpoints) then most atheists will ever read/studied the Bible or books on the Bible. Ever wonder if maybe you are the one being lied too?
@yyportne Christianity has all the answers the word of God in the bible is the truth and final.
Everyone just turn of your brain let God in to your heart and conform to it's laws, dont waste your time trying to investigate things for yourself, dont even think. Jesus will provide. Thanks for showing me the light my soul has been saved from eternal hell. I'll see you in heaven and we can be happy together for eternity. Yay.
@onetao8 hey man im christian, look man there's a certain way of sharing the message and trust me it's not like how you just did, it takes time for one person to understand who god is you can't just go saying to people "you will suffer in hell forever", nah man just don't say anything if people don't believe in god then hey that's on them, god will have his way it might not be the way you want it to be, but let him have his way. Speak words of wisdom to people. :)
@yyportne I've studied both science and religion and if you think the Bible is without contradictions you are just simply in denial, even genesis has two mutually exclusive accounts of the creation story. Your characterisation of evolution and abiogenisis does not portray your study of science in a very good light.
I relize as a person I sabatage(if you will) capabilitys to ground or the lower part of myself to really connect and be a ''average joe'' and at the same time I hold dearly my spirituality/wisdom/etc, all of this being subconsiously of course. my point is, is this a weekness of my self, the fear of being lost in this humanitys bullshit, or is this a strength as in Im seeing ''the big picture'' only dont know it. That being said I have no problem hooning in on other peoples level just to conect..
I've got a bit of noob question. If you train for strength do you only work out 3 days a week (with weights)? I've never seen a strength program that wasn't Monday Wednesday Friday only in its archetype. I'm really curious because I'd like to switch up my routine in a month and focus on strength gains for a month or two but only working out 3 days a week seems just... wrong. Enlighten me guru of strength.
@djh9595 yeah man im 16 too and have the same problem, dont feel ashamed to bring in your own food, think about it, its YOUR health in the end...personally I take in a tuna salad, a mix of nuts and seeds, a fruit and water :) if you cant eat rice but still want high carbs id recommend buckwheat, good luck!
You tied in the unified field theory and ancient teachings to strength in a way it would've taken myself 3-5 years to tie together. Thank you for making me that much wiser, and allowing me to expand upon these new ideas I now have the opportunity to question.
@djh9595 I do the same thing as ownrook. Bring your own lunch; school food is... well, shit. In my school, our burgers have more "texturized vegetable protein" in them than actual beef.
I prepare a lot of chicken, rice (personally I like white, but brown is better for you), and beans when I get home from school, and the next day I put it in a little tubbaware thing in my backpack. Then I just microwave it at our school's microwave and buy a water bottle from the lunch line.
Have you got a video on how to train to be a strongman or train towards that, if not could you do one with a training program example because all i hear is mostly the standard bodybuilding training at my gym and i want to gain strength more and not so much bothered about being a bodybuilder and also i would like to ask are there limits to each person depending on genetics that set limits to how far you can go in strength or can we go as far as we want theoretically?
Elliot, you talk a lot about god in the "becoming the strongest version of yourself video's", just like this one. I'm an atheist, I don't believe in god. It's my opinion there's not enough sufficient proof for me to believe in that diety. I believe in science but also in love, relationships, good morals etc. Does this limit me from becoming the strongest version of myself? Obviously, I believe not, but my question is if you seriously believe the answer is yes, and why?
And as said in other video's (also by some other people), I'm surprised a person of your intelligence, open mindedness, but rational, sober, logical, critical thinking, believes in god, but I respect that. To each his own.
@SinisterSkip I am an aethiest aswell, In my opinion when it comes to the spiritual side of you, since you are strong in your beleifs that there is no god, that is the same as strong belief in a god...
@SinisterSkip although you need to hold your self accountable for your actions and live a good life under your own set of morality. for many a God is a way to explain to themselves why the sky is blue who made this and what not. , Be strong in your beliefs, be strong in you mind and be strong in your body plain and simple
That's is true, it's just that these morals and principles of life in my opinion don't have to come from some book, they come from logical, rational, open minded thinking. I've learned these morals from my parents -> family, friends etc. They haven't learned it from a book, but from experience and again, using your brain. You need them to become succesful in life, whether you believe in god, the cooky monster, or neither of both :)
@SinisterSkip No, it doesn't limit you from becoming the "strongest version of yourself". In fact, NO belief is needed. God is simply a word that I use to describe the indescribable, I'm really not attached to it at all. If it feels better to replace the word 'God' with Nature, Universe, Allah, Tao, Elohim, Bhagwan, Satnam, Ahura Mazd or Shit Head really doesn't make a difference to me.
A very cool movie starring a totally bad ass actor is Revolver with Jason Statham. Most of the people I've watched it with just don't seem to get it. The movie is all about the ego and overcoming the ego. If you haven't seen it you should check it out. Just keep in mind what I said it is about and it'll help in understanding the movie, especially the later parts.
Elliot buddy, you're a hell of a smart and expressive dude! I'm 16 and LOVE this series of videos :D really opening up my mind and perceptions, as well as increasing sports science knowledge too - Thanks!
youre a seriously smart guy
