This actually means that you need to know something about computers. If you didn't i'd try something like Selkie Rescue Data Recovery which allows you to also by-pass windows but its more like hit enter 3 times and start the transfer of your files.

Would you know if Selkie Rescue Data Recovery can recover bad sector read corrupted files. The drive is freezing my windows xp when I try to access deep into the files from a different pc. Am I pooped out of luck or is there a way I can retrieve it.

this is not recovering your files, this is accessing your files using different mediums, if you need to RECOVER your files. You'll need to use SpinRite.

You must click READ MANUALS on the website's page. To make it fully bootable, you must execute a batch file inside the boot folder. Then when you restart your computer (pushing F12 or some command repeatedly) bring up the bootup menu and boot from your cd/usb stick.

You MUST execute that batch file on the medium you intend to boot with.

Haha. It's been a long time since a friend of mine helped me resolved all my data and reformatted my laptop. Now, it's working pretty well. Thanks anyway, who knows i might need to use your advice in the near future.
