  • thay good vid its the best holiday im 15 and i had the best time. and one of ur pics were wit vipin the night cheif he was so cool he use to hook us up wit free chips at like 5am

  • Glad you had a good time. Our son loved the kababs and chips from the night chef, he was such a nice guy

  • P.S...Helena again. Got the wristbands, felt a bit "woozy" the 2nd day on board (thought of you straight away Edith !!!, but was then o.k.) My hubby felt a bit "woozy", but just had another beer, and that fixed him up !!! (LOL) Good on 'ya for going again, hope you're not sick next time...we were told drink ginger ale on board, it helps...I had some now and then to be on the safe side (LOL)...Bill & Helena

  • Hi Helena & Bill. I am so pleased you had a good time. I am more pleased than when you were feeling woozy you thought of me and felt better (LOL). Yes I have decided to do it again. We are going in December 2010. It is a 14 day cruise but only sailing straight for 3 days there and then 3 days.

  • Hi Jon & Edith...thanks for your message. Well, we're back...came home to have a rest...exhausted !!! (LOL) We had an absolute ball...staff were great, food etc etc. We'd have liked to have spent more time looking around the ports 'tho...especially Vanuatu...didn't think much of Noumea. Going to do it again at the end of this year, but going to fly to Vanuatu and stay a couple of weeks in a resort and / or Bali.Take care, would love to hear from you again...Bill & Helena

  • So if I get sick on the way I will have 3 days to rest up and on the way back I can sleep it all off, ready to get back to work. I have since been advised to wear wrist bands at least a couple of days before you go and keep on a couple of days once you return. I am going to give that a go as well. Anything to help. I have heard about ginger ale as well but yes I don't like that. As Jon calls me all the time a freak! I think he is right. Welcome Home. Jon & Edith.

  • Hi there Jon & Edith, this is Helena & Bill(1st comment at top of this page)...well, we're on our way tomorrow (Sunday March 1st)...CANNOT wait !!! Have watched your video heaps, just luuuuuv it...did the right thing and got seasick bands (LOL)...will let you know how we enjoyed it when we get back, take care...Helena & Bill

  • Have fun, but by the time you get this message you would have aready set sail. hope the bands helped, and hope you had a ball.

    Happy sailing jon & edith.

PS We are going on a 14 day trip next year (2010)

  • Wow...you made such a great video and it looked so much fun !!!...except for your wife, poor thing !!! My hubby and I are going on "Pacifc Dawn" in 6 weeks on our 1st ever cruise, can't wait !!! Tell me, are there coat hangers in the cabins, or do we need to take some(or extra?) And you think the seasick wristbanda are better than tablets?...we've heard you can have side effects from the tabs. Great video...Luv to your poor wife !!! (LOL)...Helena & Bill

  • This is the wife here. Thank you so much for your lovely words. It was a wonderful cruise and you will love it. It's a pity I spent most of the time in bed. You will need to take extra coat hangers as there are only a few in the cabin. It is true about the tablets about side affects. I felt the tablets added to my sea sickness. The bands helped me greatly. Pity I didn't put them on before we set sail. Have a great trip!! My husband said to say Thank you about his video. Hope to hear from u again

  • Thank you, that is so helpful...we've made up our minds now to get the wristbands !!! (LOL) & take extra coathangers. We're around both your ages(by looking at your video), so don't want it spoilt by being "crook" all the time, will let you know what we thought when we get back, but anyone we've talked to has always had a ball. take care, and thanks again...Helena

  • I love the dawn!!!!

lol you make it sound bad... sydney at last, and thank god for land... i loved it and cried when i had to get off!!

We did 13 nights... went Vanuatu - Port vila, then Vanuatu- Mystery Island, then Fiji - savu savu, then Fiji - dravuni island... then noumea... mystery island is the awesomest. :)

Most amazing trip of my life!! :) Cannot wait to go again! :D

  • The "thank god for land" bit is because my wife was sea sick from the time we left sydney heads until we got back to darling harbour. we all had a ball (except for my wife)

  • i mam going on that crise and i cant wait

  • Hi there! I have been and come back from my cruise. Take a look if you want... :) We had a fantastic time like you and have already booked the next one.

  • I am very happy that you had great time but can I ask something my family and I going by the end of the year same tour.... are we allowed to take 2 or 3 slap's of beer or drink's

  • I went on the same tour as these people, I booked a tour which took us all around the land, We visited the aquarium and went all over the beautiful hills of Noumea, It was fantastic! I hope you enjoy your tour! The price of the tour each was about $90. In the Isle of Pines me and my family booked a taxi to show us around the place. Other than that in the Isle of Pines me and the kids just swam most of the time. Trust me when you see the Pacific Dawn you will not believe it, it was very humid!!!!

  • Just wondering if you guys booked any shore tours? We are going through our booklet and are totally confused. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

  • No we did our own thing. Noumea we just did the shopping thing. If you go to Noumea on the third Monday of the month the markets are closed, so book a tour as there is not much else in town to do (very dirty and smelly in Noumea). Isle of Pines we booked a taxi and had the driver show us around. cost us 4000 francs ($80 AU). We found the tours expensive and short. By the time you look around, have a swim and spend a bit of money it is time to get back on board. hope this helps

  • best cruise ever! check my video for more about the pacific dawn!! :)

  • I did the Christmas Cruise and Loved it on Pacific Dawn.Wise Choice I didnt mean you all but It is a Ball.I had the choice between Going to Hong Kong or Going on a Cruise again but this time on Pacific Sun for this year It was a no brainer The Cruise won out with all due respect to my Mums Sister and My Eldest Cousins.

  • Excellent video. Well down. We are going on this ship on 26th March (5 of us). We can't wait. Any hints on what to take or not would be appreciated. The pictures taken in your cabin... is that for 4 people? Thanks again.

  • Dont take anything it is all supplied, just seasick stuff if you need it. We found those wristband with the magnets in them the best to stop sickness. Just tip the cabin guy/girl everyday ($5 - $10) and they will look after you. Make sure you sign a form at the service desk when on board to stop them automatically taking tips. We tipped who we thought deserved it (other than cabin boy).

  • If you dont sign the form you get charged a tip on top of every purchase, and drinks etc are not cheap on board. The only cheap things is smokes and they dont sell lighters or matches, so if you smoke take a light with you. Other than that, just have fun. Yes the cabin was a four berth. The top two bunks pull down out of ceiling. Very comfortable, plasma TV and movie, sport and news channels available....have fun

  • Excellent! Very well done! Me and my Mum are going on 18th March cruise but got a mini suit! Looks like you had fun, i love cruising and can't wait til i go!

  • Thanks for your comments. You will love it. We had a cabin for four on promenade deck (deck 5) and it was good enough for the four of us. If you are getting a suite you will love it. Our cabin boy was terrific. Just tip the cabin guy and you will be looked after. Happy cruising

  • Hi, was this the January 18th to 25th Cruise

  • Yes it was

  • I thought so, I just didnt recognise any of you guys, I suppose with over 2000 passengers, our paths never really crossed. Its amazing.

  • Pity we didnt meet, hope you had fun because we had a ball. Our next trip is to Fiji....

  • Thats funny, we are thinking of going to a resort in Fiji as well. We might bump into each other in Fiji.
