  • Explain why the Mormon Church didn't authorize black men to hold the priesthood until 1978!

  • @betazors in 490 characters or less?! haha.. I'll do my best. Consider this.. in ancient Israel the priesthood was only conferred on the Levites. no other tribes.. and this was only the levitical priesthood. What we have today is the higher Melchiezidek Priesthood. All I will say is there is a time and place to everything. God loves black people. Perhaps the PEOPLE were not ready to accept equality of blacks thus God didn't burden us with too high a law till we were ready to accept it..

  • This is awesome...I wish I could meet you. I am 15 years old and I have grown up in a mormon household, and I always get these comments that are some what true but very stretched. so I just want you to know that I will be putting this on their Facebook walls. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

  • Back your stuff up with the bible kid.

  • @RJRCHARMED I'm more than happy to back up the content of the video with the bible, and I feel confident in doing so.. you know of course you won't find the word Missouri in the bible.. it wasn't around, back in the day. This is where modern revelation comes in... and can explain things that ancient scripture just simply doesnt address... But what claims exactly would you like to hear backed up? give me a list and I'll do my best to provide scriptural documentation.

  • @rambojoe2323 Thank you. I am an inactive member of the church and have been for some time. But I will always defend it! It makes me somewhat frustrated to see people judging something they do not understand. It makes me glad to see somebody clearly and respectively sharing the gospel.

  • @LostieFaithy thank you for your support..and also.. just know.. we don't understand everything that is going on in your life and I wish you the best.. but we love you.. and want you to come back. so give it some prayer and thought.. best wishes :)

  • I didn't really pay attention because I got distracted by taking pictures but I listened to the thing about the Garden of Eden in Missouri. Joseph smith said it's in Missouri. So just because he said it it's true? Where does it say in the bible? That's like my saying, Jesus was crucified in the mountains that surround my valley. There's no proof. and just because I said it doesn't make it true, And if I'm famous it still doesn't make it true.

  • Thank you! As a Latter-day Saint, I'm glad that there is someone out there actually telling the truth about the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Because of those slanderous videos/articles to be found on the internet, my mom isn't allowing my baptism so I again, I am glad that the truth is being told somewhere.

  • @iLoveDragons94 and thanks for your support.. keep the faith. Give it time.. Mom will come around to the truth eventually. :)

  • Enoch was a person...You're talking about Genesis 5:22. Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters. Sooo... how is Enoch a city?

  • @roblakov Well there is also the scripture starting in Moses 7:18 that speaks of the city of enoch.. it's basically the original city of zion that became so righteous they were all translated.. It's eventually the goal that we all become that righteous.. not overnight of course.. but yes. According to LDS theology, Enoch is a city named after the ancient prophet.

  • Satan crafting dinosaur bones is not mainstream Christian belief...

  • lol Brigham Young said, "Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so."

  • Why would Joseph smith die for a book if he just "made it up"? why would he say that it is true up until the very end even if he knew he was going to die and it was just a "story"?? This video was not made for criticism, it was made for YOUR information on what WE believe.

  • @katiekazzilla ha, you Tell em' girl. :D

  • @katiekazzilla he died for being polygamy

  • @katiekazzilla he died for being a polygamist

  • Dude, this is one of the worst "apologist" videos I've ever seen. You haven't even begun to give HONEST answers about what the Mormon religion actually believes; every reply has been surrounded by dithering and half-truths...

  • @WWZenaDo could you kindly give any examples??... u realize I had fifteen minutes, right?? and I'm only responding to a video put out by someone else... Please point out how the video I'm responding to isn't purely dithering and half truths. Then we can talk turkey. Thanks.

  • @rambojoe2323 Shee-yite, I could have answered the man's questions in 5 minutes. "Do Mormons believe in 'magic' underwear?"-no, we believe it's "holy" underwear. "Do Mormons believe 'Satan' has power over water?"-Some do, but it''s not supported by Book of Mormon scripture. "Do Mormons believe that they'll get their own planet to rule as "God"?"-Only if you're male. "Is there a 'secret' handshake to get into heaven?"-Yes, and you'd better get to a temple and start learning it. See? Easy...

  • @WWZenaDo well.. you've posted a lot.. not gonna address it all. For one, I haven't seen one shred of evidence "the church" has backed Mitt or Huntsman in the race.. I personally support Paul. Secondly the book of Mormon actually began 2200 BC with the Jaredites.. you're not accounting for the principle of continuous revelation... and the "Con-Man" issue.. I have two words for you.. extermination order. You really think Missurian Mobs and bigots gave fair treatment under the law?

  • @rambojoe2323 "haven't seen one shred of evidence "the church" has backed Mitt..." How about the reversal of the "gay marriage" bill in California - backed primarily by the Mormon church? How about the defeat of the "Equal Rights Amendment" - also financially backed by the Mormon church...

  • @rambojoe2323 What valid archaeological evidence is there (other than mormon-financed 'studies'...) that support ANY idea that the "Book of Mormon" existed BEFORE the 1800's....??? I've never seen a WHIFF of such a concept - and I've been reading archaeological articles and books since I was 6 years old with a SPECIAL emphasis on Europe and the Middle East.

  • @rambojoe2323 Oh, and "Jaredites"??? Yeah, that's about as "real" as the "Nephites" - ANOTHER totally fictional name made up by Smith and ONLY believed as "valid" by those who have sucked down the rest of the 'con'... "Continuous Revelation" ONLY works if there is CONTINUITY within the supposedly "sacred" writings - and the bible itself has no VALID internal continuity - so the Book of Mormon is null and void on that basis alone.

  • @rambojoe2323 That "bigotry" didn't "magically" appear without cause. Joseph Smith's arrogance, pride and overweening high-handedness - first turned against non-Mormons; later applied to Mormons who complained about his sexual forays with their wives and daughters. The Mormons were white, middle-class, & religious - they were INITIALLY welcomed with open arms. Those same areas of "bigotry" handle Hutterites, Quakers, Shakers, Adventists and others WITHOUT bigotry - wonder why???

  • @rambojoe2323 The reason you were taking 15 minutes plus to answer, is because you were self-consciously attempting to back-pedal and soften the impact of answering the questions HONESTLY - and I suspect you were 'choking', because deep down you understand how wacko, weird and unsupportable these bizarre beliefs are.... You guys are as bad as the Scientologists...

  • @WWZenaDo really?? I was saying I wanted to take MORE than 15.. but youtube wouldn't let me go over that. I will not simply give a yes/no.. because the questions are malintended. and agenda seeking.. I wish I had more time.. if you want to trample over sacred things.. sure take five minutes and keep people confused.. if you want them to understand doctrine.. slow down and explain actual doctrine and principle.. and yes I do believe you are quite active on exmormon.org. explains a lot, bro.

  • @rambojoe2323 If your goal is simply to present facts, a "yes/no" answer would suffice - by your own admission, you want to "filter" or "cushion" the facts. As to "sacred" things - Dude! The bible itself is merely 3,500 years old [approx.], the Koran around 1,600 years old, and the Book of Mormon? A mere 175 years old, at best. All of these books are "Johnny-come-lately's" - far too young to be the words of a planet-forming "deity". That which came last, CANNOT be from that which came first

  • @rambojoe2323 By the way, I've never been a Mormon. I'm an ex-Jehovah's Witness - and thoroughly familiar with cults and cult manipulation. I have read "The Latter Day Saints in the Modern World" by William J. Whalen, a lay CATHOLIC who researched Mormon beliefs. I read that book when I was 10 years old, because at that age I had adult-level reading comprehension. His book on Jehovah's Witnesses was accurate - and unflattering; so his book on Mormonism was also quite accurate.....

  • "so, all the way across the United States these people were kicked out of their homes" - because Joseph Smith kept trying to CON the non-Mormons, obtain NON-Mormon's property by deceit [he was convicted as a CON-ARTIST, after all], and generated such ill-will against Mormons that they were driven out - until they came to Utah. The U.S. Government moved against the Mormons because of the POLYGAMY issue as well as the previous attitudes typified by Joseph Smith and his elite cadre of male leaders

  • There's an AWFUL LOT that you DON'T want to talk about... Makes me wonder just how many half-truths, omissions and outright LIES we're going to hear from, oh, say, a Mormon candidate backed by Mormon church money aiming to impose [BIZARRE!!!] Mormon beliefs on Americans...???

  • (about the temple), then "We don't talk about the things that go on there...[3:13]; it's not secret, so much as it is sacred...[3:22]" followed by "you can go; you just have to take the proper steps to prepare yourself..." Like disabling my brain? Or being male? Oh, and the reason the Mormon church no longer practices polygamy is because it was OUTLAWED by the U.S. Government BEFORE the Mormons got "holy light" that it was "wrong". "Mountain meadow massacre - I don't want to talk about that"

  • "We wear in the church what we call...'garments'..." Sooooo, there is "special" Mormon underwear... "Devil controls water" question - "widely-held belief...no scriptural support"... I'm amazed that Mormons even bathe.... One phrase appears frequently in this video: "now, this isn't something that we talk lightly about [1:24]; something that we don't talk a lot about [2:41]; Christ says that we should not parade holy things before the world and hold them up for ridicule [2:54]..."

  • FYI- exmormon.org is ran by EXMORMONS...people who invested their entire lives in the church...so how is it odd that he got his info there? Those people were all mormons!!! They've seen the best of both worlds so they aren't biased- I'd say that's the perfect place to find info. I am an active poster on their discussion board and most of those people know more about the church than active members. The knowledge they have is from experience and church doctrine- they aren't just making shit up.

  • 1st thanks for taking the time to make vid and reply. I have a few questions I cant seem to understand if you would be so kind:

LDS claim their beliefs dont change. To me it seems they adapt with society. Example curse on blacks, polygamy, ect.

J.S. & B.Y. believed when they die they get several wives in the Celesteral kingdome. Lets say they did..New revelation says pluarl wives is bad. What happens in the Celesteral kindome post rev? Wives taken away since God chages his mind? thanx

  • Baptisms For the Dead 1 Cor 15:29, Eden in MI if you look into the scriptures about the Days of Paleg. John 5:19-20 talks about the seperation of the Father and the Son.

  • @LuLu6214 God in His essential form encompasses the universe He created! There is nowhere that He isn't present. Read Psalms 139:6-12. In time, things had gotten so bad, we were pretty much headed 4hell (a place of self-love &absorption, where the TRUE God is not welcome, &from a distance, the one-upmanship appears like fire). God loved what He'd created too much to let us go w/o a fight. JESUS was the way the INFINITE GOD manifested Himself to finite humanity. Read John14:6-10, &Matthew28:18.

  • Elder, why not be like Jesus? sell all the stuff in the background and give it to the poor, go live with them under the freeway, that's what Jesus woulda done a long time ago !!

  • @guayacan07 for one, it's not mine to sell. It's my parents'. secondly.... Is that what you've done? I know the scriptures... "sell all and give to the poor," "it is harder for a rich man to pass through the eye of a needle" etc, however my parents are in their sixties, and had to come out of retirement just to make ends meet. Are your personal circumstances really that different, that you can lecture the rest of the middle class? Have you forsaken friends and family for the Kingdom of God?

  • @rambojoe2323: I don't believe in god, or jesus or santa claus, I do not go to ANY church, I do not claim to be better than anyone else just for going to church. I am just a guy trying to make a living.

  • @guayacan07 Man im not a mormon but I do know this: if you plant a seed of sacrifice (a lil cash) you'll get a lot back...maybe not today or tomorrow but God will bless your life. I use to be the guy "trying to make a living". I give a little and get a lot in return. You'll be surprised where blessings start turning up...Im not trying to convert or anything like that, simply im very happy with my life now and i want more ppl to experence it.

  • @guayacan07 come on theres an old granny rocker, 1970's chair--non recliner, and old arm of a couch or maybe recliner, a plant and a few earns or something on the mantle...why do you think this kid is loaded? im not mormon & i dont agree w him but come on

  • Hi Elder... You are wonderful. In fact, in the background I noticed a great deal of wealth. Jesus wants us all to be wealthy and exploit the poor at all times and in any way that justifies our righteousness. Praise to the man who communes with Jehovah. Well done brother.

  • @markinportland2008 fyi. I live with my parents and have about 1k to my name which I slaved all summer for. My parents worked for 40 yrs and bought a beautiful yet modest home to retire in. We pay an honest tithe and donate regularly to charitable causes. How dare you presume to tell me how I or they should spend our money. I am a member of Occupy and protest every week for social justice, But no.. I'm greedy. The church has the one of the world's largest non gov welfare prgrms in the world btw.

  • @rambojoe2323: The welfare program you mention is big in Utah not all around the world to help all mormons. I look at it from a different angle, it is a bargaining chip where they help and people perceive the religion as positive. Now, not only the church can be clever, many people can be too, I know many "mormons" who joined the church just to take advantage of this "welfare."After all god does not exists,no perfection, people or religions ain't perfect either, it's all about money in the end.

  • @guayacan07 Church welfare is all over the world, though probably more organized at the church's heart in Utah. It helps first those who contribute to it via tithing, ect... as well as many outside the church. I volunteered in Atlanta to distribute goods to members. In foreign disasters truckloads of goods are shipped overseas and the church is usually among the first on the scene to help alleviate damages. Call it a bargaining chip, whatever you will, the fact is we DO get out and help people.

  • @rambojoe2323 As you discuss Welfare especially "Here in the United States'. Also state that most of the PEOPLE ON WELFARE AND FOODSTAMPS are Whites, simply by virtue of them being the Majority Race in this Country. The problem is you never hear about the Majority of Welfare Recipients being White. This is like the LIE put forth about JESUS being White. It is an utter fabrication. Jesus wasn't and never will be some White Guy, and MOST PEOPLE ON WELFARE ARE WHITES, pure and simple so be Honest!

  • @guayacan07:Yes, I once overheard a mormon say " I give them $100 a month but I get $400 outta them" makes sense.

  • thank you for telling the truth

  • -It is funny religious folks always use the word belief and never the word fact.

-they always believe in all the characters in their fairy tales but you don't hear them say " I believe in myself to be able to achieve what I want"

-Always use SPOOKY language, always sacred, holy, sanctity. A temple is just a building, water is water, oil is oil, the holy sacred part exists only in their heads.

  • See there are nice non-Mormons out there ;-)

  • @Exemplo4XP good to hear. God bless

  • @rambojoe2323 : Ditto !

  • @Rambojoe2323: nice video. I am not a Mormon fwiw. The entire acceptance of the doctrines falls or stands with the acceptance of Joseph Smith as a prophet. Exaltation, apostasy of the Church, works vs. Not,... If one accepts Smith, one accepts BoM, PotGP, D&C. If one accepts the Bible only, it falls. Good luck in your search.

  • @miltona635: turning this in a racial debate doesn't help anyone. Look around you on Sunday morning ? How diverse in the Church family you worship in ? Diverse ? Good ! We have too few of those around.

  • according to the bible too the garden of eden you know adam and eve was well well before the flood with noah....

  • @UltraSSJ2Chulla yes it was.

  • mormons (you don't get to be a proper noun) are racist and dangerous we should have kicked them out of the US when we had a chance...YOUR a cult sorry can not be convinced otherwise

  • @UltraSSJ2Chulla believe me I wouldn't try to convince such a hardened bigot. Have a nice day.

  • @UltraSSJ2Chulla You use powerful language about the Mormons being a 'Cult. But I will say this. EVERY RELIGION THAT PRESENTS THE ONE CALLED 'JESUS' AS A WHITE MAN IS ALSO A 'CULT! Have you noticed Superman, Popeye, Batman, Ironman, The Hulk, Green Lantern, Aquaman, SantaClause, SpiderMan, and JESUS ARE ALL WHITE FELLAS? So anyone that Believes that this Jesus is some White Dude is ALSO IN A CULT. It's so moronic to believe These White Clowns are being posed as something Real. They are Comics!

  • @miltona635 so we all go to the "black Jesus" church and we'll all be saved? where's the logic there? I've stated before and will state again, I DON'T CARE WHAT COLOR HE WAS. HE WAS A JEW. If you want the Websters definition of a cult it is any group that shows reverence to an idea or person. by that definition, christianity, mormonism, islam, buddhism, taoism, zooastrianism, and judaism are all cults. You are being a fanatic, a bigot and a racist, ignoring the spirit of Christ's law.

  • @rambojoe2323 Oh Noooo My Genius with the Trap..lol. You won't get me in that NONSENSE either. I am NOT saying that Jesus is "BLACK, I am just saying that it's IMPOSSIBLE for some White Kid to have been born to Semitic MiddleEastern Parents. So no I am NOT saying he's Black that's Your Assertion. And naming all those other Religions is pretty moronic, and bigoted, if you think that by Naming them this Jesus will become some White Guy like Popeye. So just remember HE'S WAS NEVER WHITE! Period!

  • @miltona635 Dude. You frickin' nailed it! But you made me choke on my sandwich, damnit!

  • It's IMPOSSIBLE for some White Dude to have been the Christ of Israel. Why do Mormons perpetuate the Lie of this White Guy with a Beard and Long Flowing Brown Hair as the Savior? Mormons are very nice people, but they are NOT HONEST. They KNOW that it's completely IMPOSSIBLE for some White Dude to have been Born and Raised in the Middle East to Semitic Parents and Heritage,. Stop with this Lie of Jesus being some White Kid born in the Middle East. That is a Fabrication~!

  • @miltona635

Have you ever met a Jew?

  • @rambojoe2323 Have you ever met some 'White Kid' born to Semitic Middle Eastern Parents?

  • @miltona635 yes they're called Jews. Most of them have a fairly olive complexion. The funny thing about this is that it is irrelevant!. Predominately black communities believe Christ was black, while other ethnic groups paint not only Jesus but Santa Clause their own skin tone. Is it important whether he was white or black, NO! the fact is he was born a Jew, lived a sinless life and atoned for the sins of mankind. If you want to believe he was brown, cool. Let's at least agree he's our Savior.

  • @rambojoe2323 If it takes 'OLIVE LIE" to make you feel better, that's Cool. As long as you KNOW that the White Character that is SLATHERED all over the Mormon Church and the Catholic Church is a Complete and Utter Lie as Well.. The reply is always 'lets agree he's the savior. NO! Lets Just SIMPLY AGREE THAT THE WHITE FELLA THEY PROMOTE at every Level is an utter nonsensical LIE. Otherwise get the Mormons to make Chinese, and then say "At Least Lets Agree He's Our Savior, You gotta be kidding!

  • @rambojoe2323 A ChinaMan in a white robe and beard as the Savior of the Mormons? And some genius saying "At Least Let's All Agree that He's Our Savior". I would love to see that, but it will Never Happen, even among 'Chinese Mormons..lol. The amazing thing is, this White Dude Posing as the Savior Perpetration is just as RIDICULOUS as the Chinaman Savior. There is NO DIFFERENCE whatsoever, since Both are Utter and Complete Fabrications! Real Truth from Scripture is virtuous, right? Probably.
