This song graces my channels homepage with auto start. I've seen some pretty incredible performances since from Brian Gore and Pino Forastiere as well as other outstanding guitar work. Still, somehow I can't take this one off. Everytime I check my YT channel I hear this and it just makes me wanna dance. Adam, this is so good! All your work is, but this song...wow! Do you have a personal favorite MJ arrangement you love to play? The groove in the chorus on this one is just crazy jazzilicious.
@121jigawatts Man, thank you so so so very much. Some of the other tunes are more popular but this may actually be may fave! PS - I just discovered taht JAZZIZ Magazine voted the I REMEMBER MICHAEL CD as a top 10 pick of 2011! Pretty exciting! Any requests?
@crescentridge Wow! Congrats on the JAZZIZ Mag vote!! You have pretty much covered some of my favorite MJ tunes. Seems like you have already agonized over which of his songs would translate well over to fingerstyle. I also love your arrangement of Man in the Mirror.
@BlueRanger08 I agree with what you are saying, however you need to take into consideration, that Adam has been playing guitar since he was 8 and I am guessing he would be somewhere late 30's early 40's, whereas Sungha is still a teenager. Adam has lived, been happy, sad, angry, been loved, made love, and probably had his heart broken. He has had chance to appreciate these emotions and he brings that out when he plays. Sungha on the other hand is yet to experience most of this. In time he will.
I could sit and watch you all day Adam, ive seen alot of comments on Sungman Lee is better, and i really dont think so, he sits there motionless in most of his projects, and to be quite frank its boring watching him...where as you have this charismatic energy that just oozes out and its very fun to watch..Thank you soo much for the MJ clips theyve sparked up quite a storm on my facebook!!!!! glad to share your talent !!! :)
each time i hear your versions i realise that performance is by far the most important aspect of a good music production.. without it we're lost.. and with so much music actually being performed by microchips these days.. you are a breath of fresh air.. do you write song yourself? I would like to hear some!
Hey, i really wanna learn this but cant see the chords properly, i know you cant release tabs but could i request a version with a close up so that others like me can learn?, ive already learnt six of your peices, and btw they all are amazing!
I realize the copyright issues you face with publishing a lesson for this one, but could you please provide some clues, tips, alternate tunings, and possibly chords for this? I'm sure those simple things would never be viewed the same as an outright score or tutorial. Thanks. Beautiful job, BTW!
Adam, Thanks so much for this! I was hoping you'd do Off The Wall:) Your rhythmic sense always astounds me. Whats next? Baby Be Mine or maybe something off Bad. Doesn't matter any song will make me happy. You are an inspiration.
@xMPCxx Try a bunch of guitars out. I like Matons, but if you are just starting that may be a little expensive. And yes - I took classical lessons, and jazz lessons as a kid!
Im sure this has been asked a ton but are you going to make an instructional DVD on these newer MJ arrangements? I think your site only had the J5 and Stevie Wonder (which i bought already) DVDs.
Put it this way Adam. If you lived in the apartment next to me and i could hear you through the wall I'd bang on the wall any time you stopped playing, not any time you were.
Wow adam..amazing as always..what I wonder is how long does it take you to come up with your final arrangement on a particular song?? you seem to get these amazing arrangements together in a pretty short time. It takes me forever to figure out an arrangement. You're truely blessed.
I love your videos Adam, you are the guitarist that most of of us guitarists would wish to be. Your playing is awe inspiring and a beautiful thing to watch. Thank you for sharing.
nothin less then amazin adam, big fan of ur arrangements ive been hacking away at the jackson 5 dvd for the past few weeks now , really enjoying myself, i just couldnt help but notice wats that white thing over there on the headstock in this video? haha
Btw: you probably know the young asian kid Sungha Jung, that does some covers of you and other acoustic stuff. He and his mentor Uli Bögershausen live in Germany. Right next to Germany in the Netherlands there lives another very famous and skilled youtube guitarrero named "iggypres" and real name Igor Presnyakov. I wonder if you 3 or 4 with the young fellow could match up on time to do a breathtaking guitar show. Maybe you can bring TE as well xD
hey viewers, if you like the idea and want Adam to do so and tape it for youtube or as a DVD then...well...give it a thumbs up...god how I hate asking for this....
The percussion in this is amazing, it's little too "Smooth Jazz" style for me but no denying the talent!! Thumbs way UP.
@IsaacTheGuitarist I angle my capo sometimes as well, to give my fingers more room. It probably does throw off the tuning slightly, maybe a 1/2 cent or less, just not enough to make an audible difference to my ears. I use a Dunlop spring/clamp capo and it's kinda bulky.
@averageanarchist Not sure why you think it's too smooth jazz...the music simply is what it is. Yes, it's less bluesy and more jazzy than other songs, but blame the writer...not me :-)
@crescentridge Why would I "blame" anyone. It was just an opinion. People just like different styles of music.
For me I was abused growing up. Abused by being forced to listen to way too much Jazz. (It's what my Dad always listened to)
Just not a song I could listen too, but Like I said though, you got sick talent. I love the chord-melody style you use in your songs. I check all your new videos, since I heard your Billie Jean Cover. (BTW my Dad loved this cover :P)
@IsaacTheGuitarist The capo should have been on straight, I did not even notice. And simply playing any guitar poses tuning problems, capo or not! :-)
if only mj heard this...he would be soo proud
