  • Well I went to the 'so-called' Holy Hour at a local Catholic church last week and there were only FOUR people there including the priest and me. Confession is heard for a scant 15 minutes every Saturday eve before the Sat. vigil mass and there are rarelty more than a handful of people there yet I see dozens of people each week receiving the Eucharist. The faith is just not being taken seriously anymore it seems and it makes me really frustrated and sad.

  • The Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist is what made me convert from being a Catholic-scoffing Protestant to become a Roman Catholic. May the liberal trash who ignore the Real Presence get everything that is coming to them.

  • @Killermuffin1 What is coming to them is, hopefully, the same conversion of heart YOU experienced!

  • Hello, I have sort of a strange question. After explaining to someone that we eat the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist, how would you respond to a question like, "Then how is it not cannibalism?" Thanks!

  • @mozartsmusicblog Cannibalism is the eating of dead flesh, not living flesh. In addition, Jesus specifically tells us to do this - so we can commune with Him as a sacrifice. He does not intend us to eat OTHER people's flesh.

  • Thanks for this post! A new priest took over our liberal parish about three years ago and has been fighting an uphill battle trying to change it from a congregational church to a Catholic Church. The first thing he did was put the tabernacle and the crucifix back in the sanctuary. There is still a long way to go and sometimes it seems that he's moving too slowly. But things are changing and some of the loudest dissenters have given up and left.

  • We moved out of state a number of years ago. We attended several Catholic churches to see which one we wanted to become members. I recall being asked at the end of Mass by a parishioner what we thought of their church since we made it known we were visitors.

We told them we did not feel so comfortable that the tabernacle was off to the side and out of sight. The person seemed insulted by our comment and we were glad to leave if that was insulting.

  • If we believe Christ is God, and believe the Eucharist is Christ, and we all want to get to heaven, why are the churches not filled to capacity at every mass? When I receive Christ, my soul expands to contain that which cannot be contained. I become a dwelling place of Jesus, the Second Person of the Trinity. I become a living tabernacle, a Holy of Holys, heaven. Does this unspeakable, unimaginable gift mean anything to us today? Indifference to the Eucharist is indifference to Christ.

  • These last two videos, like many of your others, are timely and just perfect! Keep up the good work!

  • When I was a child, many years ago, no-one spoke in church or very rarely and then in a low whisper. Now, both before and after Mass, it sounds as though someone has scored at a sporting event. I recently saw a fairly newly ordained deacon (who is going forward to the priesthood) chatting away in church whilst the Host was exposed for adoration. The beautiful altar at the church I worshipped in as a child is no more and the tabernacle is now on a side altar. Thanks for the video.

  • Ok,but he says when you are doing it to the choir or to a presentator or even to the priest.

My question will be then, what if your just applauding to the rithm of the song,or when the priest says"applause to our Lord Jesus!"

Because in a Charismatic mass, thats what the priest says.is that liturgily wrong?

  • @servidor07 Applause is not how you honor the Creator of the Universe . . .

I would go so far as to say that neglects the central ETHOS of what the Mass and Christian worship is; it is NOT to respond to Jesus as if He were a Kardashian sister or Brett Farve winning the Superbowl. It is to offer to God the ONLY thing pure and holy enough to be offered to God; God Himself.

Our response to the presence of GOD INCARNATE is applause? That would . . . concern me.

  • Denying Jesus is God is "anti-christ" according to the Apostle John. I actually got chastized once by some supposed christians for saying the Virgin Birth affirms the Trinity, because no "human man" was Jesus Father. Another time i was chastzed for pointing out that a sign of the Holy Spirit is confessing Mary as the Mother of God (Luke 1:43) just as Elizabeth did when she was filled with the Holy Spirit. :)

  • @ElizabethIrish

A Priest friend of mine used a very clever way to get altar rails reused at his Parishes - first he encouraged people to kneel for communion. Once one or two were doing it, he proposed to the relevent committee (since disbanded) that queuing was now a Health and Safety hazard and needed a risk assessment. They worried and fretted, and decided that lining up with a rail to support you kneeling and standing would be quicker, safer, and not need a risk assessment.

    Use laws :-)

  • What is the distinguishing factor between "Real Presence in the Eucharist" and "a Transubstantiated Host"?

There are a couple of people in my Parish who believe in one but not the other...and probably a few Bishops who believe in neither.

  • @jbosco08 There is a high-level theological distinction but . . . what?

Transubstantiation is the process by which the bread and wine become the Body and Blood. The Eucharist being the Body and Blood and Soul and Divinity is called "The Real Presence".

  • @RealCatholicTV

That's what I thought...you can't have the Real Presence without Transubstantiation. I'll try putting it the way you have - see if they understand that better.

    Thanks

  • @jbosco08 For someone to say they believe one but not the other suggests to me they are either playing silly, clever games in an attempt to deny Catholic truth, or they don't KNOW what the terms really mean. They are kind of inescapably linked - like believing in the sea but not water, you know?

  • AMEN! God Bless you Michael.

  • this video fits my local Church perfectly. Our Lord is off to the side where hardly anyone visits. The priest sits in the centre, the sanctuary is structured like a Masonic lodge with the altar off the left, the priest sitting in the middle, the crucifix to the left and the lectern to the right :(

  • Amen!!

  • Applaud like protestants, what is wrong in applaoding at mass during the himns?

I belong to the Catholic Charistmatic Renewal Movement and we do that during mass, including the Priest.

  • @servidor07 The pope says NOT to.

Your move. I believe Pope > Catholic Charistmatic Renewal Movement.

  • @RealCatholicTV Can u give me a web site or something were he says that?

So that way i can show it to my priest and also the leaders of the movement in Chicago.

  • @servidor07 Our Vortex "Confronting Dissent" (yesterday) quotes Benedict saying this. We quote from "The Spirit of the Liturgy", written when he was Cdl. Ratzinger.

  • with all due respect, Mr. Voris, it was not Arius who taught that Jesus was "just a good man," though Arians would eventually exist who followed that position. Arius' position was that Jesus was a created god (created before the world, but nevertheless a creature, not eternal as the Father). So Jesus for him was like God Jr.

  • @XSC3 And a CREATED person is NOT God. He did NOT teach Jesus was "God Jr" because God Jr is still God.

  • @ElizabethIrish How are you enacting this process? Can you both reply and send me a private youtube message about this? I am interested in what you are doing for it and perhaps Voris is too.

  • It is a fight worthier to fight, to Jesus at the Center of the worship. Thanks Michael and God Bless You

  • @RidgeofEternity I certainly envy that you get to worship the Lord with the tabernacle at the center. I wish we had the same. I have attended a parish that has the tabernacle right behind the altar, when I go to visit my mother and it is wonderful indeed.

  • Thank You Michael and may God bless you and your ministry!

  • I thoiught the General Instruction to the Roman Missal stated that the tabernacle containing the Most Holy Eucharist not be on an alter on which Mass is celebrated. I'm a little confused. Isn't the alter during Mass the "center stage"? Most churches I attend have a special place for the Tabernacle which allows for adoration.

  • Bravo! Yet another excellent Vortex. Every time the Holy Eucharist is denied, denigrated, or downplayed, you can score more points for the Devil - the author of evil who hates the Eucharist so much. May we all grow in reverence and love for the awesome gift of the Eucharist - and may we all defend Him always.

  • In Europe this "Protestantization" of parts of the Catholic Church has been favored by aggressive Secularism in countries where Protestants and Catholics are cohabiting for centuries. In the States you have how many thousands of

Neo-Protestant denominations? The neighbors' grass could seem greener specially if it grows effortless...

  • They are also doing much the same as Muhammad, as islam believes Jesus was "only" a prophet.

  • It's so sad how things have become. Most people I know go to mass and see the Eucharist as nothing more than a "meal" or don't even care about what it is. Even I (sadly) have been guilty of not fully understanding the importance of the Eucharist. It's sad too because no one ever told me the importance of it, just that whenever you go to mass you take it. How sad. It was only after becoming recently very interested in my faith that I came to learn.

God bless and please keep doing a good job.

  • You equating belief in the real presence of the LORD in the Eucharist with belief in the incarnation must make one subsume by 2 John 1:7 that any unbeliever is the anti-Christ.

  • @MSRAktion Any one who denies the Eucharist is certainly against Christ (which is what anti-Christ) means. They are not "THE ANTICHRIST" as is popularly understood, but they are definitely anti-Christ.

  • @RealCatholicTV Thanks! Yours in CHRIST

  • @RealCatholicTV

Exactly. Anyone who denies the Real Presence of Jesus Christ is the Anti-Christ.
