Dr. Mangalampalli is a joy and a song by himself. How gifted are we to have him in Andhra Pradesh. Sir, we are very proud of you. Best regards. - Siva.
beautiful rendition. Balamurali has one advantage over other carnatic musicians. He knows telugu unlike most others in Tamil Nadu. Though born in Tabjore district Thyagaraja. the great composer ever llived on the sacred soils of India was a telugu speaking person. i do not know who the composer of this song on Linga is-very beautiful. I would love to know the name of the composer. very emotional, soul touching
@tmlakshmi Dr.Balamurlikrishna was born in sankaraguptam East Godavari District Andhra pradesh. He is a born telugu speaking person .Please check wiki !

JK: "All authority of any kind, especially in the field of thought and understanding, is the most destructive, evil thing. Leaders destroy the followers and followers destroy the leaders. You have to be your own teacher and your own disciple. You have to question everything that man has accepted as valuable, as necessary
A Thatvam is a simple folk song with a simple rythm. The melody is the same in all the verses with one chrous. Its also in simple language. Dr Balamurali has an album especially for this titled Tathvams.
Thathvam means the essence, in vedantha thathvika chinthana means the essential soul application of the meaning of the sutras...That is you take it as subjective and don't think in the mundane objective level...Shiva is also esoterically Symbolism of this entire universe with his Shakthi...The Symbol of Linga(in SANSKRITH means Symbol also) is the essence of Godhood, Hara Hara MAHADEVA, SADA SHIVA, Is the top most Essence (Thathva) of all, everything...
Thanks, if is there a download link to this vocal? I can even buy it online any link will be great. I could not find this in his albums...can you atleast say in which album i can get this?

Woah.. was a little kid when I first listened to this and was blown away by the simple, folksy, and yet very meaningful tatvam - delivered in that inimitable style of BMK. Thank you very much for posting it!
to think of it, mind is impure too..... with all its thoughts in the form of knowledge........... so it has to be the heart........ which is the purest!! :)
what shall i do oh shiva(linga)i brought water from ganges to do pooja but the a new born fish in the water says the water is inpurified because of engili(i cannot find exact meaning for this in english..but it goes like this once you start eating any dish..and the left over in the plate is engili).
When i thought of doing pooja from milk..milked from a cow..it's calf says it is impure. When i think of offering thumma poovu(flowers from thumma plant a thorny shrubs found in rural areas..normally white in colour)..the nearest branch says i have glanced the branch from which you are going to pluck the flowers..so this is also impure.Hey shiva what shall i do.Indirectly meaning just dedicate your mind to the GOD.
Hey just look at his magnetic divine voice.... please do enjoy this legends singing ... forget about about cough etc... Nabhooto Nabhavishyati... Long Live Mangalampalli
The coughing in the start, could have been avoided I believe.
Otherwise great.
Why do they need microphones? In European classical the very nearly never use microphones-electronic devices always diminishes the freshness of natural sounds.
A worshiper is expressing his hopelessness of trying to pray his deity with the purest form of offerings.
What Do I Do, Oh Lord! What do I do?
Thought I will offer water from Holy Ganges,
But it contains the spittle of Frogs and Fishes!
Thought I will offer milk from the sacred Cows,
But it contains the spittle of its calves!
Thought I will offer flowers of Common Leucas,
But it contains the spittle of thousand bees!
What do I do, Oh Lord! What Can I do?

Coughing is natural for humanbeings...Even Europeans cough.....
Perhaps if there was no microphone we may not hear(on you tube) what he is singing...Then we will complain its too quiet.
