Why do so many people hate the Star Wars prequels? I think all three of them are fantastic, not better than the original trilogy, but still brilliant.
I wish they didn't make the Sith into a massive army of invaders. They were much more dangerous as the sinister manipulators KotoR2 made them out to be.
Instead of just conquering their enemies, the True Sith should be undermining the very reasons why the Republic and the Jedi exist.
In fact, that was the point of the Mandalorian War. It revealed the corruption and hypocrisy within the Republic and Jedi, sowing dissent and apathy, breaking apart the foundation of their organization.

That's why it's foolish for them to make the game about another massive Sith invasion.
KotoR2 revealed the problems within the Republic and the Jedi that the True Sith were exploiting to break them apart.
TOR should have been more about the Sith working to undermine the already strained trust between Republic worlds while the Jedi try to hold the corrupt and bloated Republic together.
A war should not happen until after the Republic is weakened by internal strife.

I know when the game takes place. It was stupid for them to have the True Sith invade at that time.
Throughout KotoR1 and 2, the True Sith have been slowly undermining and sabotaging the Republic and the Jedi. But then they wait 300 years for the Republic to recover before invading? That doesn't make any sense.
They should have continued with the plot of the Sith breaking apart the Republic before they launched the invasion.
I know they explain in the Revan book but the book sucked.
@KingOfMadCows -SPOILER ALERT- The Emperor needed to sort out the Dark Council and internal power before invading the Republic, also Revan kept planting seeds of doubt in the Emperor's mind while he was imprisoned to stop him from invading, so it's basically Revan being a total boss as he is :D
@agoose745 Except the True Sith were already being set up as being strong willed and pure in their belief. That's one of the reasons why they're such a threat. While the Republic and the Jedi wavered and were filled with doubt, the True Sith persevered and endured.
Revan sacrificed himself to the dark side willingly to unite the galaxy. It was stupid to just have him be mind controlled by the Emperor. And he should not have gotten captured in the first place.
@KingOfMadCows I agree it would be stupid but Revan had already fallen/was past the point of no return, after you do the Foundry flashpoint in tor Malgus says Revan was 'a fallen jedi the emperor took an interest in'. So he was just used to do the Emperor's will but broke free and estabilshed his own Sith Empire planning to over throw both the Republic and the True Sith
I will also admit that the True Sith sounding much more menacing when you knew nothing about them...

@Supergibb You can always skip side-quests and do the main class quest line, then only do sidequests if you fail to complete a class quest (because your level is too low).

Imagine someone else who would have done them.. they wouldnt even know what lucas wanted as a prequel for the epsidoes 4,5 and 6. George Lucas only wrote the script and directed the very first Star Wars, the rest was up to different directors and the crew, aesthetics, casting, plot, everything, was beyond Lucas' control. He only produced, meaning he gathered money to finance it. He fucked Star Wars up the ass with the new trilogy, if anything, they should have him as a producer and let someone else do the rest, such as a very dedicated crew with fresh and original ideas work on the movies.

@Danorowski The originals are still the best indeed, the originals were also much darker. Even though the 3 prequels have massive battles, the greatest scenes are still from the originals or me. But yeah, the 3 prequels could have been done better, but movies that are made in this time weren't made like movies back in the seventies. That's just the way it is.

Hate to say but on Wednesday 18th January 2012 Swtor has now failed. I had high hopes for this game and basically its all gone to dust with the newest patch.
For any of you wondering why. The PVP system is broken and Ilum (the in world pvp scenerio) they implemented is bugged and unfair. The imbalance between Sith and Republic ratio has meant its a massacre and exploits have allowed sith to gear up to the max. This effects end game pve as well.
@katoyushiromitsu Game's not broken. In fact I've been on several hours today post patch and it's still just as awesome as it's been from day one. Take your pvp QQing back to WoW with the rest of the kiddies and leave the real games for adults.

On to why this is broken. People have exploited to get the TOP end Champion gear. They haven't rolled back the servers or fixed the exploit allowing MORE people to get the gear. It is now impossible for republic on any server to PVP. Valor is broken and ruined the game

I played a few MMORPG games, Lineage II, Aion, World of Warcraft, Rift and a bunch of those free for play and always I returned to wow, now i feel this game fitting in my taste, graphics, sound and animations are fantastic and of course the history. Looks like I will stick with this game for long time, the world (universe) into the game is huge, really huge. Also cancelled my two wow accounts and Rift. Six years of development is a fine game, unique for now.

no, actually look at comparisons for yourself: KOTOR & TOR, both of which were NOT written & scripted by Lucas completely PWNS anything related to the Prequels (vid games, toys, etc) which was written & scripted by Lucas. Writing is everything. You have good writers, the design, music, production falls into place. Heck even the CGI CLone Wars series got some flak so what does that say...The Old Republic era is the savior of the saga & ironically, the bleeding stopped when new writers stepped in

2 raids (3 difficulty modes each), 15 hard mode flashpoints (with another coming next week), Warzones (battlegrounds), etc. Not to mention u can roll an alt. The endgame is pretty good for a launch MMO imo, and will stay good as long as Bioware updates it enough (and they will, if putting a major patch out less than a month after release is any indication).

I have been looking for a free trial of this but no luck so far. I play and really enjoy WoW and have loved Star Wars since it first came out in 77. I wonder if someone were to let me know how to get a free trial and I end up getting the game if they would get a reward like you get in WoW? They give a 2 seat rocket to the one who gets a new player in the game.

I played a few MMORPG games, Lineage II, Aion, World of Warcraft, Rift and a bunch of those free for play and always I returned to wow, now i feel this game fitting in my taste, graphics, sound and animations are fantastic and of course the history. Looks like I will stick with this game for long time, the world (universe) into the game is huge, really huge. Also cancelled my two wow accounts and Rift. Six years of development is a fine game, unique for now.

Too bad the game looks nothing like that. And I hate large scale Light saber battles, It just looks like a bunch of people jumping around with Popsicle sticks or a big Rave concert. if i wanted to kill my enemy then i would use the same color as they are, What idiot runs around with a bright red flag pointing yourself out to the entire battlefield.

and laser sword is like a stick in the movie but if movies were realistic they probably would be hilarious a bunch of soldiers throwing nokias and stuff like that and the tittle of the movie would be Nokia Wars The Return Of The Hipsters or something like that

no, actually look at comparisons for yourself: KOTOR & TOR, both of which were NOT written & scripted by Lucas completely PWNS anything related to the Prequels (vid games, toys, etc) which was written & scripted by Lucas. Writing is everything. You have good writers, the design, music, production falls into place. Heck even the CGI CLone Wars series got some flak so what does that say...The Old Republic era is the savior of the saga & ironically, the bleeding stopped when new writers stepped in

2 raids (3 difficulty modes each), 15 hard mode flashpoints (with another coming next week), Warzones (battlegrounds), etc. Not to mention u can roll an alt. The endgame is pretty good for a launch MMO imo, and will stay good as long as Bioware updates it enough (and they will, if putting a major patch out less than a month after release is any indication).

I have been looking for a free trial of this but no luck so far. I play and really enjoy WoW and have loved Star Wars since it first came out in 77. I wonder if someone were to let me know how to get a free trial and I end up getting the game if they would get a reward like you get in WoW? They give a 2 seat rocket to the one who gets a new player in the game.
