  • This is so cute. I LOVE it! ^_^

  • glad i'm not the neighbour from downstairs

  • Thank you! That is something I had forgotten, and now I can learn it again!

Clean and simple as jctoulze said it.

  • Nice! Very clean and simple to learn this way. Thanks :)

  • ci voleva proprio! sto impazzendo per impararlo!

  • awesome and crystal clear video! just learned it last lesson and i could use some guidance to practice...

  • Thanks!

  • Practice makes perfect.

  • can anyone help with the lyrics in...

you're gonna dig that step blah-blah-blah

    dancing the world around

wherever swing cats meet soon as they greet

they're getting light and they go to town

  • Sorry that should have said: Very clear YouTube clip, many thanks.

  • Thank you this has really helped with the counting and I noticed in the Tacky Annie its danced beat 7 & 8 as (left, right, left) then after that and coming out into the break its beat 7 to 8 as left then right, which helps land the break on the correct feet. And the extra kick ball change on 8 & 1 to get feet right for Shortie George...

Very clean YouTube Clip many thanks.

  • Thank you for sharing this. This is a very clear vid. It'll help me a lot dancing the Shim Sham.

  • Great job! You show very clearly all the steps and counting out the beats helps a lot--even without the music with it! I'm definitely telling my students about your video!

  • check out my vid of "Paulo Nutini new release pencil full of lead with Al Minns and Leon James dancing"

  • my tap teacher really doesnt know what shes doing. she taught us this a whole different way so weve all been doing it wrong. -_-

  • The tap shim sham is completely different from the Lindy Hop version. I was at a swing dance and someone asked if I knew how to do the shim sham and I said yes, only to be completely surprised!

  • The tap one is different.

  • Your tap teacher probably taught you the original shim sham (originally called the Goofus) created by tap dancer Leonard Reed in 1927. There were many alt choreography developed since the original. I can think of three major variations: Dean Collins shim sham, Al Minns and Leon James shim sham, and the great Franky Manning shim sham. The lady in the video gracefully demonstrates for us the Franky Manning version.

  • those pretty shoes needs metal dance taps attached too them mmm

  • Are you wearing Fluevogs?

  • Actually the shoes are Peter Fox :)

  • very good!!!!

  • thanks for posting it. I've always wanted to learn but never did at the classes--they go way too fast. Now I can learn slowly at my own pace. and BTW, you GROOVE!! I am impressed how you can groove so hard with no music. Lastly, beautiful legs too :)

  • It's so nice to have the counts, especially in the really syncopated bits, thank you!

  • SOUNDS GREAT. GOOD VID.

  • thanks for uploading this video! it's easy to follow! i've been dying to learn how to do this!

  • is it supposed to be different from the tap shim sham, because it definatly is!

  • Great!!! Very clear video!!!! Thank you so much!!!! Now, i can learn the shim sham correct!!!! Kiss

    Monia.

  • Everyone who thinks this is the shim sham the rythum is kinda right but the steps r not right. Take this from someone who has been doing tap for 8 years. It is kinda close to the 2nt shim Sham but not really.

  • This is not the tap Shim Sham. It's supposed to be different.

  • thank you so much mandy.

    andi from the beijing crew

  • I love your shoes! Where are they from? Thanks for this helpful video :)
