The picture shown at 2:44 is gravitational lensing- another way we suspect we've spotted black holes. Basically, very massive things warp the space (and light) around them, which can allow us to see what's on the other side of some objects, or to better see incredibly distant objects as through we'd found a giant magnifying glass in space, or just to guage their gravitational effects.

@elgoose2003 No, it's an artist rendering. What we actually "see" of black holes from Earth is matter falling into the accretion disk.
