  • 19:27 Good time to have a dentist's appointment.

  • This sucks that I have to remember the notes for bass and treble claff when I already know another one.... (I play the viola)

  • What if your keyboard is weird and starts with C and ends with C.

  • you are good and you are good at what you do. thanks for creating such great lessons and sharing them.

  • is music theory lesson a different set of lessons from the how to play piano ? or are they the same lessons, like is music theory #4 suppose to be watch after how to play piano lesson #3 video?

  • @genkers

i think one can watch theory lessons separately and - piano lessons without watching theory.

  • @minde28383 yea but the thing is when i go to his site and click piano lesson # 4 it pops up music theory lesson4

  • Can sheet music tell you EXACTLY what to play? I feel like it only tells you how to play notes in relation to each other, not actually how slow/fast to play it.

  • @maneatingtoilets Yes it can - if the BPM is given you know how many beats there are per minute. For instance, if the BPM was 60 there would be one beat per second.

  • @maneatingtoilets ....keep watching. the sheet music tells you everything you need to know, you just got to learn how to read it

  • waaaa creepy! wen i was watching the video, andrew mentioned the time and he said its already 2:30AM and yeah its really 2:30am here! hahah... just sharing! love your videos! thanks a lot for the free lessons..more power! God bless

  • For the Memory thing, EGBDF - Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge and for BASS GBDFA - Good Boy Deserves Fudge Always. (nice training though. good work mate)

  • After watching 5 of your videos, you got a new supscriber! You are really an amazing teacher, with a weird humor - but damn your are cool man! :) By the way... You are so much better then my music teacher on highschool - it's weird i understand you better then him (and i'm not even that good to english) - I guess with help from your videos, my music exams will go all fine :D Thank you so much! We need more people like you in this world!

  • What am I doing? Milking a cow?

  • I like his hair

  • To be honest your skills are top notch........But you sense of humor sucks piss! #Just Being Honest

  • I WILL WATCH IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In my experience, learning the notes on sheet music and learning the notes on your instrument shouldn't be two separate lessons....or should at least be integrated into the learning process. For instance, when I was learning to play the trumpet as a freshman in high school, we had to make flash cards that consisted of the staff with a note on the front and the note name with the fingering on the back. Maybe flash cards with grand staff notes on the front and the key on the board on the back.

  • you are an art piece.

  • cow actually can eat rocks. they have enough stomachs to handle them. the rocks are used to grind the grass in the let stomach.

  • this guy reminds how much their is to learn.

  • so freakin useful thx!!

  • twie twie twie Hahahaha marvellous.

  • I defenitly love this guy.

  • Your dry humor is amusing, your lessons are amazing! (=D

  • I Like your 'ALL COW EAT GRASS'!! MOOOO

  • guys just been electrecuted...

  • @LiquidRhymes lol lesson number 5!

  • What?

  • @linkphantom64 It's something from a chrome extension called Troll Emoticons.

  • I play the super BASS so bass clef is pretty much easy.

...But I used to play the puny violin....

  • With my right hand, i'll be taking notes while listening...

And with my left... i'll take a potato chip... AND EAT IT!

  • @DJGaugen It's the other way around for me.

  • @linkphantom64 :ohyou:

  • @DJGaugen ?

  • Gee get me a pencil and paper I need to write this down o.o'

  • Fudge goes to my FACE with my right hand, and to my left we have cows and birds

  • Bass Clef = frown face with a cold sore.

  • I love that with every lesson the view count goes down, it's all about commitment.

  • @MrHmmEddy He doesn't "suck" at explaining things lol, He goes over them slowly and doesnt rush it so its easier to understand.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrHmmEddy no he doesnt suck..he's an awesome piano teacher. I've looked at all the other expertvillage videos and all of them suck and i never learned anything from them. But from andrews videos, I learned very quickly cuz he takes the time to go through every thing. and no, what you said was not constructive criticism..its called being a troll..

  • how do i play a song with a rang of 88 keys if my keyboard only has 66 keys?

  • An average piano teacher can teach from 5 to 150 students a year.

    This guy? He teach thousands.

  • @DarrenDiAntonio and for free at that! What a great person!

  • @DarrenDiAntonio FOR FREE

  • i remembered the word gbdfa as my hint ;)

  • i think i learned more by watching a few of andrew's videos than i did in a whole semester of a highschool piano course ... great instructors that are also humorous are hard to find. ontop of that, the tutorials are free. karma to you, sir. fantastic job, keep it up :)

  • I think Andrew is a brilliant teacher. His jokes are so "not funny" that I laugh my ass off every time xD

    <3

  • hey if i was a type of wizard i would grant u a wish

you have given me hope on learning to play piano. i always thought reading this sheet (get it?) would be difficult and cost me millions and i learned so much from watching ur videos up to this point. which is not much lol but i still have plenty to go

    thank you!

  • am i the only one who feels like a retard when watching the videos

  • @whit3emperor Well, I'm sure a person with a learning disability can still learn from Andrew's lessons. If you don't, then you've got a problem.

  • You're such a dork, but these videos are great ! :D

  • the more I watch your lessons, Andrew, the more I find them fascinating and fun! thank you for making it available for all! you are doing amazing job because people are learning and you can see that my comments! and those who don't learn anything and criticize are just bad learners that are not paying attention to what you're teaching and not practicing enough. no need to listen to their comments.

  • OMFG I'M LEARNING :D

  • scary he tells the time in the future its exactly 2:30 now after i learning this? wierd lol

  • I don't understand the ledger lines in the middle of the grand staff part at the end. What do you mean by that?

  • Andrew, how will i know if the note is a sharp or a flat?

  • @RedRifle007 though the question was directed to andrew i guess i can answer as well:a note is a sharp or a flat if there is a sign right in front of the note. For a sharp note the sign in front of the note is #. for a flat note the sign looks like some kind of a 'b'.

  • heh, they say nowadays, you can learn anything on the internet... they were right... only 5 lessons in, and i've already learnt more than 9 months' worth that i had in the past... and i actually understands everything... good teaching quality is scary...

  • Up is to the right, down is to the left. 5 years of piano school and I don't remember my teacher telling me that. Here I am, 10 years later, trying to re-learn playing the piano. THANK YOU :)

  • Haha, You remind me of my older brother...

But anyway, great lesson. My music teacher tried to teach me this but I couldn't understand it, and I was having so much trouble with my grades there. I had even had trouble understanding what a staff did, even when I did concentrate at my hardest. So I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

    So thanks!

  • thank you so much for this, a lot of this is review but i learn something new each video :)

  • A bit dorky, but a great teacher! I wanted to take summer piano lessons before college, but there are no teachers in my area (I live three miles past the middle of nowhere, blink and you'll miss it). I actually learned more about music in the first four videos than I did in my 6 years of playing Tenor Sax....
