An acting troupe came to my school, and me and a few other friends were chosen to perform parts from this whole play, skipping only the fourth scene. My group was chosen to do this part of the play, and I was the lion. In our first readthrough, when we got to Pyramus saying, "Die, die, die, die, die!" I thought to myself, "Where have I heard that before...? Oh my gosh, the Beatles did this." Then, when I got home I watched this and laughed my arse off. You have to love these Brits. XD
George: Look you, all I have to say is to tell you that this lantern is...the moon you see, got it? I'm the man in the moon, this thornbush here is my thornbush, and this doggy woggy here is my dog.
I love how when Paul is lying on the ground and John is describing him, how Paul's trying so hard not to laugh. -3 I love them! Where did you get this by the way?
One of the biggest clues that Paul is really dead is the Beatles Producer Sir George Matin's College Code of Arms. Notice he only has 3 beatles on his shield, a tire mark over one of the beatles and a blue jay above the shield. The lower beatle is John the 2 above are George and Ringo, the middle beatle under the tire track is Paul. Listen to Blue Jay Way forward and backwards, the song is about pauls crash in 66.

We're studying Shakespeare in literacy, (which is boring), But I'm gonna request this to my literacy teacher to make it more fun! This play is in a Midsummer Night's Dream!
I hate how mean they were to paul in the beginning and how they were picking on George like that but George should them whos boss and they were mocking John and John was like SHUT UP!!! my favorite part but it really upsetted me how mean the crowd was stupid people in the beginning they were like (go back to Liverpool) freaking ass holes -:(
dude.... you're actually taking this seriously?? it's all part of the show! it's supposed to be funny and the beatles never took themselves too seriously.... calm down!
@2010stupidass hahaa, it's okay. that's part of the show. the original shakespeare play had people in the audience doing the same thing as part of the act. :]
okay were those boys part of the skit?!? the boys that kept insulting the beatles and said "go back to liverpool"? i was like crying they were so mean to them!!!!!
@Hadeydeppio Yes, they were part of the skit. Read "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The dialogue is very different (no mention of Liverpool, for instance), but the heckling is there in the original.
@lewiswillingham LOL no, he said "look you" it just sounds like "fuck you" because of George's huge teeth and his adorable accent (: 60's tv was extremely strictly censored, wouldn't have allowed any foul words
i had to read that play last year in eight grade, and we watched the play....but i must say...THE BEATLES DO IT THE BEST !!!! that was extrememly hilarious!!
@CheerJaja For what seems like the millionth time, they were part of the skit. Read "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and you will learn that the heckling is supposed to be there.
3:36 "But know that I one Ringo the drummer am. But if I was really a lion, I wouldn't be making all the money that I am today, WOULD I?!" HAHAHAHA favorite part!
I just recognized the guy who opens the skit....it's actor Trevor Peacock, who plays the part of Jim Trott in "The Vicar of Dibley." You know, the one who's known for saying "No,no,no,no - yes."
anyone know if the hecklers were part of the act? i've heard from some sources (Beatles forum, English teacher yes I asked her, etc.) that they were. if that's true...The Beatles were REALLY good actors! they seemed genuinely annoyed lol
@iLoseTechnology Yes...I've read the play (and you can, too--a simple Google search will get you the full text, jump to that part and it's kind of interesting when you compare it to this) and there are hecklers, to which the performers respond.
You, ladies, you whose gentle hearts do fear the smallest monstrous mouse that creeps on floor, may now perchance both quake and tremble here, when lion rough in wildest rage doth roar. Grr. Oh, how I love thee, Ringo ♥
Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Lol I've never giggled like a total fangirl so much in my life. This play showed me how high pitched my squeals can get, I didn't even know that...
I love how pissed off all the girls are at the two hecklers (Like the chick at. 1:31 who pulls the guys hair o.O) The play is from the first scene of A Midsummer Night's Dream and it's supposed to be put on poorly! People are supposed to be shouting at them!
@Hadeydeppio I've been in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" four times, that's how I know. ;-) I've played the roles played by Paul and Ringo, and for the record, my wife has played George's role.
I mean, obviously this skit takes more than a few liberties with Shakespeare's dialogue, but the heckling is part of the proceedings.
