  • An acting troupe came to my school, and me and a few other friends were chosen to perform parts from this whole play, skipping only the fourth scene. My group was chosen to do this part of the play, and I was the lion. In our first readthrough, when we got to Pyramus saying, "Die, die, die, die, die!" I thought to myself, "Where have I heard that before...? Oh my gosh, the Beatles did this." Then, when I got home I watched this and laughed my arse off. You have to love these Brits. XD

  • George: Look you, all I have to say is to tell you that this lantern is...the moon you see, got it? I'm the man in the moon, this thornbush here is my thornbush, and this doggy woggy here is my dog.

  • And I love how when John yells "WHAT?" Paul jumps and covers his face. :)

  • I love how when Paul is lying on the ground and John is describing him, how Paul's trying so hard not to laugh. -3 I love them! Where did you get this by the way?

  • 0:26... gotta love paul's expression

  • at 4:00 George looks so shy, cute!

  • (Door Opens sound)

John : My world is my love...Ow!

  • One of the biggest clues that Paul is really dead is the Beatles Producer Sir George Matin's College Code of Arms. Notice he only has 3 beatles on his shield, a tire mark over one of the beatles and a blue jay above the shield. The lower beatle is John the 2 above are George and Ringo, the middle beatle under the tire track is Paul. Listen to Blue Jay Way forward and backwards, the song is about pauls crash in 66.

  • Wow, the way Paul moves and his facial expressions. EXACTLY THE SAME of nowadays!Paul :D

  • We're studying Shakespeare in literacy, (which is boring), But I'm gonna request this to my literacy teacher to make it more fun! This play is in a Midsummer Night's Dream!

  • I see a voice

  • I hate how mean they were to paul in the beginning and how they were picking on George like that but George should them whos boss and they were mocking John and John was like SHUT UP!!! my favorite part but it really upsetted me how mean the crowd was stupid people in the beginning they were like (go back to Liverpool) freaking ass holes -:(

  • @2010stupidass

dude.... you're actually taking this seriously?? it's all part of the show! it's supposed to be funny and the beatles never took themselves too seriously.... calm down!

  • @2010stupidass hahaa, it's okay. that's part of the show. the original shakespeare play had people in the audience doing the same thing as part of the act. :]

  • 1:45 Oh Paul, oh sweet n lovely Paul! :)

  • If i could like this video infinty zillion times i would

  • okay were those boys part of the skit?!? the boys that kept insulting the beatles and said "go back to liverpool"? i was like crying they were so mean to them!!!!!

  • @Hadeydeppio Yes, they were part of the skit. Read "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The dialogue is very different (no mention of Liverpool, for instance), but the heckling is there in the original.

  • what skit was this?

  • nice one

  • 06:52 to 06:58 -what do they say?

  • @luizamartinellirossi Farewell, friends! Thus Thisbe ends, adieu, adieu, adieu!

  • Hahahha hilarious video could not stop laughing at this

  • 4:02 does George say fuck you? :L

  • @lewiswillingham LOL no, he said "look you" it just sounds like "fuck you" because of George's huge teeth and his adorable accent (: 60's tv was extremely strictly censored, wouldn't have allowed any foul words

  • @lewiswillingham that what i thought as well

  • It makes me happy!! Thanks Beatles no one but you!!!

  • omg... that is so cute! I love the beatles!

  • 5:58. John skipping in singing. Best!!!!

  • Ah funny but those stupid people were annoying

  • @CheerJaja For what seems like the millionth time, they were part of the skit. Read "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and you will learn that the heckling is supposed to be there.

  • @MaskedMan66 yeah i realized that after i posted this comment, yet they're still annoying.

  • Haha George's doggy woggy :D and Paul: See ya, George! xDDDDDDD

  • Hahaha

    Cute! <3

  • The Wall. Is that Peter Cook?

Like the guy from The Princess Bride?

  • More innocent times, expect when George tells the hecklers to fuck off!!!

  • @cozener1 what!?!!?!?!

    LOL!

    Hahaha

  • @cozener1 He didn't. He said, "Look, you!"

  • Is one of the 'hecklers' not Long John Baldery???? Blues legend.

  • @cozener1 Yes, it is.

  • lol love how john just said SHUT UP !!!! to the crowd

  • Crazy as it can be.

  • 3:36 "But know that I one Ringo the drummer am. But if I was really a lion, I wouldn't be making all the money that I am today, WOULD I?!" HAHAHAHA favorite part!

  • I just recognized the guy who opens the skit....it's actor Trevor Peacock, who plays the part of Jim Trott in "The Vicar of Dibley." You know, the one who's known for saying "No,no,no,no - yes."

  • @viewdemonde Good heavens! I'd never have recognized him. Thanks for pointing that out!

  • @viewdemonde He also played a very gaudily-dressed Cowardly Lion in an RSC production of "The Wizard of Oz."

  • this made me so incredibly happy

  • Ooh, jolly good! :D

  • hahaah if only paul said "am i dead" like 3 years later....

  • i love george.

  • The Beatles or The Bard? How about BOTH?! ;)

  • who is the wall?

  • has anyone noticed that jim sturgess and paul look alot alike

    especially in across the universe?

  • anyone know if the hecklers were part of the act? i've heard from some sources (Beatles forum, English teacher yes I asked her, etc.) that they were. if that's true...The Beatles were REALLY good actors! they seemed genuinely annoyed lol

  • @iLoseTechnology Yes...I've read the play (and you can, too--a simple Google search will get you the full text, jump to that part and it's kind of interesting when you compare it to this) and there are hecklers, to which the performers respond.

  • A Midsummer Night's Dream!

  • I hate hysterical fangirls v.v

  • You, ladies, you whose gentle hearts do fear the smallest monstrous mouse that creeps on floor, may now perchance both quake and tremble here, when lion rough in wildest rage doth roar. Grr. Oh, how I love thee, Ringo ♥

  • I love how Paul and John hold hands before they die at the end lol

  • lol Ringo... <3

    "See ya George!"

  • the beatles had lots of laughs and made great music. Nothing is better than that

  • i must go back in the 60's and marry paul

  • @Celeste193 not if i time travel first :)

  • Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Lol I've never giggled like a total fangirl so much in my life. This play showed me how high pitched my squeals can get, I didn't even know that...

  • @Shancus32796 haha right?? i never knew how girly i sounded until the beatles came and swept me off my feet ;) haha

  • I think this was the funniest thing I have ever watched.

I miss old time British Humor. d:

  • Haha Oh Ringo, How I love you :))

  • ringo lion=CUUUUUUUUTTEEEE!!!

  • Fredrick!

  • i read that the Beatles hated making this.

  • @tmntraphninja where did you read that??

  • @pollywolly67 in a book, I don't recall the title, it might have been called " you never give me your money" but i don't remember.

  • @tmntraphninja they did a great job either ways, and seemed to enjoy themselves which was all that mattered :D

  • 3:21- 3:33: Oh, Ringo! (blush) I nearly passed out. That just made my day! <3 <3 <3

  • HAHAHAHA, Ringo's roar.. that was adorable. And John showing some leg for Paul! x''D

  • hahahahahahhahah, john is a very pretty lady :p, I bet he loved doing that. And george is looking like: why do I have to be tree

  • 3:49 Awesome!

  • I love how pissed off all the girls are at the two hecklers (Like the chick at. 1:31 who pulls the guys hair o.O) The play is from the first scene of A Midsummer Night's Dream and it's supposed to be put on poorly! People are supposed to be shouting at them!

  • @RogueSahara Actually, it's from the second-to-last scene in "Midsummer."

  • i wouldve loved to be part of that play

  • Not a word, not a word, not a word, SHAT AP!

  • I LOVE THIS.

Ahh Ringo is hilarious. "As you all know, I am Ringo the drummer. If I were really a lion, then I wouldn't be making this much money now am i?"

He just owned the rude people in the audience hahaha.

  • @thatfreaknextdoor "The rude people in the audience," as you call them, were part of the skit.

  • @MaskedMan66 ohhhhhhhhh they were? good, because that woulda been really sad if they weren't LOL. how do you know?

  • @Hadeydeppio I've been in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" four times, that's how I know. ;-) I've played the roles played by Paul and Ringo, and for the record, my wife has played George's role.

I mean, obviously this skit takes more than a few liberties with Shakespeare's dialogue, but the heckling is part of the proceedings.

  • hahahah johns a girl! hahaha i love george <3

  • I love this skit. It never ceases to give me a case of the giggles.

    Who?

    Look you!

  • "moon take thy flight ... cya george" hahaaa! and the bit where paul goes "well, ya cant have everythign" X]

  • I the man in the moon I seem to be!
