  • hey I am trying to find the recipe for gum paste on Anie2 tutorial but I cant. Can you help me?

    Thanks

I am from Croatia and I love your tiara.

  • Thanks! Glad you like it! You may be having trouble finding her because it is "Aine2" not Anie2. LOL! Her video is called "How to make modeling or sugar paste". If you can't find her by searching her username you can always find it near the bottom of my favorites list on my channel. :)

  • hey could you show us your recipe on gum paste please please please please!!!!

  • Hey, I use the same recipe as Aine2. Check out her tutorial cuz that's the one I use. You should find the vid on my favorites list. :)

  • @heyheyitsashley FONDANT DEFF! hope this helped!

  • Amazing !!! do you make the gumpaste by yourself or do you buy it?

    greetings from Casablanca

  • Thank you so much! I make my own gum paste. :o) Greetings from El Paso! :)

  • AMAZIING KEEP IT UP MAN :)

  • You're so very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :0)

  • Wow that is very creative!!! btw you sound really young. I almost thought you were about 13 or 14 which I would've found all the more impressive.

  • Thank you so much! I'm glad I sound young! :0) LOL!

  • Hi Laura, than you so much for your tutorial and all your videos, very inspiring for me.

I think i'll try to do it for my doughter, but i did'nt understand where can i find the "glue" recipe. Please can you indicate it?

    Thanks

  • HI and thank you! Glad you like my videos! I appreciate that! If you look up Aine2 here on youtube, you'll find her awesome tutorial on how to make edible glue. :0)

  • @laurapoopie thank'you. by by

  • Gracias Laura, terrific. I love the coffe can w/parchment attached to d board w/tape. Mine kept rolling. I will use this idea now. Thanks!

  • That's awesome! Thank you! :0)

  • WHAT TASTE BETTER? FONDANT OR GUMPASTE?

    PLEASEEEEE HELPPPPPP!

  • LOL! It depends on WHAT KIND of fondant you use because there are a lot out there that taste like crap... Gumpaste is used for decorations... :)

  • Will this tiara work with fondant as well?

  • I've never made it just out of pure fondant. I don't see why it wouldn't, but don't think it would be as strong...

  • Great tutorial!! Thanks for taking the time to show us!

  • You're VERY welcome! Glad you liked this vid! :0)

  • what are you using to make gems

  • I don't make them. :)

  • Love this tiara :), where did you get your silver airbrush colour from ??? X

  • Thanks! If I remember correctly, I purchased it online from AmeriColor. It's called "silver sheen".

  • jus love it;)

  • Thank you! :0)

  • this is awesome i love it!!!!

  • Thank you! :0)

  • @laurapoopie can this tiara be made with fondant as well?

  • Hi! Well, this basically is fondant with a little tylose mixed into it. You CAN do it with fondant but it will not be AS strong. :)

  • mine got stuck in the paper... and thanks for the tutorial!!

  • You're very welcome! I'm sorry yours got stuck to the paper. Be sure to use either parchment paper or wax paper. :)

  • Hi, your tutorial is fantastic.. I made one today... I dont think mine isnt anything near as good as yours... I have only been doing things with fondant and gumpaste for probably the last month... I hope it looks good when I have totally finished... thanks so much for your tutorial..

  • Awwwww! Thank you! I'm SO happy you thought this tutorial was helpful! It means a lot to me! I'm sure yours came out awesome! :) Thanks! :)

  • @laurapoopie I can safely say mine is not awesome.. where I live in aussie it is impossible to buy well anything.. so I have to buy it all online on ebay etc.. the edible glue I purchased on ebay was usless and while I was painting mine today several parts actually fell off :( , but I made tylose glue last night.. and when the paint drys I will stick the other parts back on... Its only hand painted... as I dont have an air brush or anything.. but its not too bad..

  • where did you get the airbrush stuff

  • The airbrush was purchased online from one of the IWATA distributers, colors from Kopy Kake or AmeriColor and the compressor my Dad gave to me. :0)

  • Can I make figurines with gumpaste as well?

  • Yes, you definitely can! :0)

  • I made it but it stuck to the wax paper :(

  • You need to use very little edible glue so that you don't get it BEHIND the gumpaste. Next time try using parchment paper if the wax paper doesn't work for you. It's never gotten stuck for me. :0)

  • @earthangeltbug another way is that u can use a litle crisco :)

  • Sooo pretty Laura! Just catching up on all your great vids...thanks for this one.

    ~sc

  • Awwwwwww! You're welcome sweetheart! Thanks for taking the time to watch them! :0)

  • Also, what type of colors can you use? As in liquid, powdered, gels...thanks!

  • Hey Laura, I was wondering how do you make the tiara not stick to the can? Because won't the glue get stuck to the can?

  • Hey, As you can see in the video, I explained that I wrapped the can with parchment paper. You can also do this with wax paper. It prevents the gumpaste from sticking to the can. You can use any edible colors you like. Luster dusts, petal dusts, gel colors mixed with alcohol, or you can even airbrush them with edible colros. :0) It really all depends what colors you're trying to achieve. Hope this helps! :0)

  • @DriftedDreamingSoul try using crisco on the wax paper

  • Great tutorial Laura! Love how you have (or make the time!) to sure with us all your ideas ; )

  • Thanks Andrea! Appreciate that! :0)

  • thanks! very awesome, love all your cakes!

  • Thank you! :)

  • Very nice. Thank you for taking the time to make this video..it is much appreciated.!

  • You're very welcome! Thanks for taking the time to watch! :)

  • Thanks so much for this tutorial Laura! It is really helpful. I still dont have an airbrush, is it possible to just brush it with silver luster dust? what's the best way to do it so that it will be even. BTW where do you buy your tylose powder? I tried Michaels but they dont have it.

  • You're welcome. I suppose you could paint it on, but I've never tried that on a tiara so not sure how it would come out. I think they sell edible spray bottles? You can get tylose at any local cake supply store. :)

  • Very helpful! I added it to my favorites :) I have only made royal icing tiaras and they are very fragile...next time I am going to do your gumpaste version!!!! Thanks Laura!

  • Awesome Kerry! I'm so glad you found this vid useful! :) Thanks for favoriting it! :)

  • Awesome Kerry! I'm so glad you found this vid useful! :) Thanks for favoriting it! :)

  • Awesome! This is so helpful, I wish something like this existed a couple of months ago :) I had to make a tiara as well, but gave it a day to dry. It was horrible when I delivered the cake the tiara was cracking :( I am so happy that this tutorial exist, now I won't even run into the same prob. Thanks :)

  • Thank you! Glad you thought it was useful! :)

  • Thanks for sharing Laura , it's very helpful !!! love every single cake that u've made !!!

Just wondering how do you make all the gumpast roll the same with each other...my rolls always 1 big , one small it's so hard to get a few long rolls equally

  • You're very welcome! :) Thank you for the sweet words! It means a lot! :) The gumpaste worms are sometimes a challenge to get them all the same size. It rarely happens! LOL! I just keep sliding them in my hands until they kinda sorta look the same. A lot of times I have to scrunch them up and try all over again! LOL! :)

  • @laurapoopie Hi laura ...thanks for your reply.. :p i've once heard from some one do tutorial on youtube mentioned about the tool to make all the little rolls for gumpast, it look like a garlic press....but it for gumpaste and fondan not sure if you've heard of it...i'm trying to find that tutorial again but i got no luck...that 1 is good for doing figure 's hair...maybe they do have different sizes for bigger rolls too....

  • Yes, the tool you are referring to is called an "extruder" or a clay gun. You can buy one at any craft store. Comes in VERY handy for tiny little strings and hair. :)

  • Thanks for sharing Laura...I love your tutorial!

  • You're welcome Mari! I'm glad you liked it! ;)

  • You are SO very welcome! Thank you for watching! :)

  • oh and another question lol. do you make or buy the gumpaste?

  • I buy the cheap Wilton fondant and then I make gumpaste by combining the fondant with tylose powder. Aine2 here on youtube has a very good tutorial on how to make it. :)

  • hi laura. i made fondant for the first time today and i wasnt sure if i had to add all the powdered sugar even though the dough stuff was dry enough and so i decided to add more which made it even dryer and it started to crack. so my question is should i have added it or left it like that? thanks :D

  • Hi! Actually, this tiara was made with gumpaste. You can make it really easily by mixing fondant with tylose powder. No need to add any powdered sugar. :)

  • I really like this tutorial! Very easy to follow and your work is awesome! Keep them coming if you can! =)

  • Thank you so much! I will! :)

  • Awesome! :)

  • Thanks for the tutorial Laura. Really well put together! Easy to follow. ;)

  • Awesome! Thank you! :)

  • what would happen if it broke right before delivery could you glue it together ??

  • Sure! That's why it's a really good idea to always carry some royal icing with you when delivering a cake. Murphy's Law. LOL! :)

  • lol that's why i don't want to sell cakes i would panic if it breaks
