You are correct. After watching the video a few times, that was 5th gear. Because when he first took off, it was in 2nd gear.

Sorry to break it to you... the Vette never hit 6th gear. It was 5th gear when you hit 168MPH. With the exception of the ZR1, all C6s with 6sp Auto or Manual trans will hit top speed at 5th gear. I have a Vette, I know

This is an LS3 with the 6L80 6 speed automatic. The gearing is so much better than 4 speed autos and with it's clutch to clutch shifting you see how smooth and quick the upshifts are. I have been in a few 08s and the the A6 is actually quicker to 60 than the MN6 because the A6 has a 4.02 first gear. It's a rocket auto or manual with the LS3.
