  • Love the ending when the rain is falling, the road misty, trees soaked and she is so in love with him. He is the happiest you see him from the beginning of the film and all is right with them at last.

Makes me tear up every time. Great ending. You can hear the cuckoo if you listen closely. They only live in Europe and migrate after summer. Wish I knew the piano piece-does anyone?

  • Still one of my favorite movies. I was 18 when I first saw this, and it means even more to me now. Superb.

  • one of my favorit Movie......fantastique!!!!

  • The dancing scene is jsut magnificent. Juliette was and stil is the most beautiful actress of our times. Her dance, with that beautiful face and that beautifuk movie, I'll never forget,

    Jubinne

  • i loved this movie so much that i couldn't get on well with those who didn't. And I love the book too.

  • One of the best ending scenes ever!

  • Thanks!

  • Loved it when it came out in the theatre and love it still. Anyone know the name of the tango piece in the hotel scene shown in this clip? It's not on the soundtrack, and an internet search only shows others with the same question. Thanks for posting!

  • I'd been looking for the same thing for years but found out here in comments from kind ppl below that it's called "Two Guitars."

  • Hommage to Lena Olin, she was so hot back then, such a dime of a brunette with her feline eyes and thight firm atheltic ass, and the story: a heartwarmer. As a teenager I loved this film, and Kunderas novel.

  • I still think Lena is an incredible woman with a heat generated from her soul...and Juliette is wonderful as well..

  • This movie made such amazing use of sound. The windshield wipers feel like a ticking clock, the music is so rich but still subtle.

  • i have finished the book just a few days ago and am now curious to watch the film. for now it looks like a good one.

can anyone here please tell me what tango it is beginning at about 3:21?

    thank you so much!

  • I love to see this movie because I admire Daniel's performance.

  • i might also add i teared slightly when i saw this scene for the first time, as did the euthnasia scene

  • truly a masterpiece

    wonderful cast, acting, filmmaking etc....

    just GREAT

  • love is all that matters. when ever i see these part it makes me cry. really one of the best movies, or i should say: one of my favorites next to "out of africa",, "the english patient", "the sheltering sky". strange - all theses movies deal with love and the loss of life. but is it not our theme: love and death?!

  • such a beautiful film. two guitars is such a powerful peice finally taking the couple back to the honest joys of their culture denied them by the soviets

  • Philip Kaufman is a great film maker. His works is splendid.

  • This is perfectly matched by the janacek

  • Throughout this film, I was captured by the tone of the relationship of Tomas and his two women against the backdrop of the Soviet invasion of Czech. Equally captivating was how Tomas' final emotion may have been his first pure one, only to suggest an omnipotent intervention for the sake of taking him at his best. Any way you look at it, OUTSTANDING movie, breathtaking story, great performances! Julie Binoche and Lena Olin are so beautiful.

  • This is the very end of the film, isn't it?

  • The last 1 minute music are a piano-pièce by Leos Janacek.

    Title: "The owergrown Path"

  • Nobody will ever come close to Milan Kundera's genius, but this is a great film nonetheless.

  • I love TereZa!

  • One of the best movies!

  • The dancing scene (two guitars) is a killer

  • Oh, I HAVE to see this movie now. I'm all teary! lol

  • what's this composition called and who is it by? please anyone, its driving me crazy, i really want it!

  • The song is called "Two Guitars" and it is a traditional Russian gypsy song. My grandmother used to play it on the accordion. Great tune, great, great film, great book.

  • i love you!

  • it's called two guitars

  • I don't know why of all scenes in the movie this would be the one you posted lol. Excellent movie, can't say enough about it.

  • she posted the final scene - my absolute favorite!

    i cried so much!

    "what are you thinking"?

"I'm thinking how happy I am"

    amazing

  • I'm sorry you are absolutely right this is one of the best parts, I just that it ended at 3:00 when there was still 3 minutes more to go.
