good video. Most riders in my country dont stop and dont even look they just ride straight out from junction if they r turning right they just hug to the right side of the road. But of course they have to stop if they r turning left
when you're talking to people about stopping be sure and stop at the stop signs..don't roll through..stop means stop. when riders get in the bad habit of not stopping then they can make a misstake when looking and roll out in front of a car etc...and when brakeing to stop or slowing to turn you can flash your brake light on and off several time to get the drivers attention behind you. this works i've noticed cars back off.and when stopped flash it to..you could get rear ended..it's happened..
Thing is, the head is 25bls of ugly fat. So if you move it, your balance needs to change with it. If you're not ready for that, you wobble. Ask a gymnast, they'll tell you, the head leads the body.
A tip I would recommend is if your afraid of riding on the street's cus of a lack of skill. buy a cheap used dirt bike and practice in the offroad world for a while learn all the ergos and habits on a nice light weight easy to ride bike and have a lot of fun doing it. for brand new bikers I would recommend like a 230 as long as your 5'8'' or taller. has nothing to do with the power just being able to reach the ground with both your feet. I personally only ride offroad -no speed limits-
i think they look down because the feeling of the front compressing is unnerving. they need to practice a lot more in a parking lot, including panic stops, before heading out on the road. your advice about sight line is excellent, including for auto-drivers. on an interstate, you should be not be tailgating, and looking 20 or more seconds down the road so you can plan your next action (hey, a guy's stopped for no reason ahead....) and scanning around and behind you periodically for danger.
Now why do my videos from my helmet cam appear shakey like my neck cant keep my head still, I thought I had a strong neck but obviously not, good luck
its a shame they're cutting down a lot of those trees zone07, i heard they spend over 3 million dollars on that damn project. Makes the area looks a hell of a lot less natural. I wonder what Bluestar used to look like before that whole area was built there.
Me and a friend of mine make both motor cycle paper (whatever it is in english) :D on our first trip he do what you tell not to do :D he looked down on the street and .. bam .. he fell ... i was laughing :D because i saw this vid before ^^
I never stop at Stop signs... theyre retarded. Around my community they just placed em wherever they looked first. I slow down or shift down when passing intersection or small blind streets without Stop signs. The law is far from perfect, your own common sense will keep you safer.
ok worst situation... you role up to a red light ur way to close to the car in front of you and theres vomit and an oil spill all around you oh no! your skrewd!
videos like these are very good especially for begginer riders.just got my licence but i already have some hundreds of kilometers especially on bad country roads..that helps a lot in traffic..cause u already have a good balance..so what i want to say is usually unexperienced new riders, who get their bike and feel they are "good enough" tend to disrespect the bike and the surroundings feeling they are the best and they can't go down..but that's when they actually are..
made the newb mistake, i used only the front brake and steering wheel went tilted. i did a high-side. went out over mu bike doing three revolutions on the asphalt
its a bitch to drop a bike when i was storing my bike the stand some how gave in dont know why i caught the bike and slowly put it down its so heavy i picked it up but hes right a lot of people fall make sure your able to pick your bike up...
hey man, iv'e been watching all your videos, and i just wanted to thank you because i can now ride a motorcycle.. just by watching your videos and listening to all your tips on what to do and what not to do and along with other vids. on how to start the motorcycle and how to shift gears.. i can now ride one.. thank you again and great work...
same lol. my heart was beating when he was looking down. thats exactly how i dropped my friends bike this morning. why couldnt i have found this video earlier *sigh*
his voice kind of reminds me of Fez from That 70s Show.
But nvm your voice. I like your teaching style hahaha. thanks for the lessons! I'm interested in getting a bike, i just want to have a clue of what i'm doing before i get into the whole mess.
Honestly, it depends on size, what you riding style is.. lots of great naked bikes out at the moment, but i agree . something like the SV650. R6 is no good to someone who wouldnt know how to get the most out of it.. choose wisely ;)
@zone07 I just got a gsxr600 with a yoshi race kit, powercommander, and an aftermarket throttle responce and i get scared because it is soooo touchy its so easy to accidently goose it even with my wrist level its way to much power for me
had to look up the word "misnomer" to understand how badly you were insulting me jerk!
Hey, do you have problems uploading to LV? It's getting more and more painful to work with that site; if it wasn't for the riders, I would be gone. Stay rubber side down bitch!
No, not really...hardest part is keeping vids under 200mb while still looking good on this side. They've been getting things dealt with pretty smoothly for me...
good video. Woulda been nice to have seen this before i started riding though lol. No I didn't drop my bike, but had a few close calls because of what you mentioned not to do.
