Protest against the state is good. Americans can learn a thing or two from Koreans. Firstly Koreans are unified nation and have a recent history of protest which lead to the overthrow of a corrupt government. Secondly Korean respect their beliefs and stand up for what is right than sitting at home and letting the state decide their rights.
cops got trolled. regardless, they should be acting professional.... but i don't feel any sympathy for the guy that got shield smacked since thats exactly what he was asking for.
Yes, you got it! BTW, grill beef and pork belly are two of the most delicious dishes in S.Korea....and a few pints of beer and/or Soju (Korean rice wine, I think)
At the wholesale level, prices of Australian beef in Seoul and Tokyo were US $20.63 per kilogram (kg) and US $18.30 per kg, respectively.
For domestic Hanwoo and Wagyu A2 loin of equivalent quality wholesale prices were US $26.05 per kg and US $23.83 per kg. In large supermarket chains, Seoulconsumers are paying on average of US $31 per pound for sliced chuck roll while Japanese shoppers can buy equivalent product for $21 per pound.
It is because the S.Koreans fear that US beef might be contaminated with the "Mad Cow" disease.
Mad Cow disease is caused by some kind of a virus and when or if a person is infected, the brain will die slowly - and there is no cure. Google for more information.
Anyway, I always thought Japanese is THE MOST PICKIEST, SUPER ANAL, PERFECTIONIST, ONLY-THE-BEST market on the planet, yet they still import US beef....I guess SK tops Japn in that context.
But then one thinks about the intelligence of this: 300Mil US population plus export populations....all these people eating US beef with abandon and the 40 Mil SK population don't want it but rather pay $30/kg..bizarre
Not as frequent and generally not as violent as in Korea. I spent a total of 2.5 years in Korea and the protests never changed. There was a protest at least every month if not more.
