i'm going to bring a dog home and it's a boy pomanian
his real owner lets us to keep it and so we left it at someone's house for a while and today when i came to visit the dog the dog was REALLY scared of me and has tears on his eyes because he really miss his real owner :( . whenever i go near it it runs away whenere i want to pat it ,it barks at me :(
i just want a normal dog like others people does :( and my mum really wants the dogs really badly :(
My dog just had a epilectic seizure it was so scary. We had to give him valium medicine after 3/4 minutes but hes fine now thank god. You have to wait 3 minutes because the medicine can be very harmful i think.

my dog used to have seizures. it was heartbreaking to watch. but everytime she has one, i just talk to her and hold her to let her know i'm there. she reached up to the age of 10, then we had to put her to sleep. it was getting worse.
@seashell4847 our pekingneese Gizzie has know me and my big sis all our lives she is 17 going to be 18 octob 31st and she had a seizure at my feet. she's okay now But now when I look at her I wanna cry.I lost 2 dogs this year (one being the very first dog of my own) I don't need to lose my granny-gizzie

My Dachshund Baron has had seizures in the past. We figured out it was salt that was causing them. I used to let him have a potato chip or two and then the next day he would have a seizure. Since that time I will not let him have anything with salt on it like potato chips, fries things like that and he has not had one for a very long time. I did find out that Dachshunds are more prone to seizures than other dogs and also thru my reading saw that salt is a big contributor. Just wanted to share
They tell you not to hold the person down during a seizure so why is it different with animals. Are they less important then? I don't think that they are and think video has some dodgy advice.
ignore this video, you should leave the dog to finish its seizure and leave it for 20 mins afterwards until the dog has completely come around from the seizure.
My vet told me the complete opposite of this, she told me not to call the vet unless the seizure is lasting more than 20 minutes, NEVER touch the dog whilst having a seizure or try to restrain them in any way, because like a human having a seizure they have no clue of what is going on, the only time you should ever touch a dog that is having a seizure is if they are going to harm themselves. She also told me to switch all lights and television off so their is silence, and never speak to them.
@BabeBenDover actually its quite regular for a dog seizure to last between 1 and 10 minutes, any more than 20 minutes can cause death, and that is rare. :)
sadly my dog passed away from have all those seziures; after he passed they found out he has a brain tumor and that was the cause. The day he died he had one sezuire that lasted close to four hours. We brought him to the vet and they has to out him to sleep. Many times when dogs are epileptic the vet offers these pill which i dont remember the name of, many websites say that they are bad for the dogs liver, but they honestly do more good then harm.
I have a red nose pitbull who began to have seizures as well. He hit his head really hard on a glass door thinking it was open a few weeks back. his first seizure was on the 5th of this month (december) since then he has had 4 seizures in total. 1 week apart but 2 just yesterday. we are now giving him phenobarbital an anticonvulsant to control them because they are truly hearbreaking to witness. frequent visits tho the vet

My dog does that when she is sleeping. She will be sleeping, and then she will start whining and twitching and her legs go stiff, but I just tap her or shake her a little and say her name, and then she will stop. Is she having a seizure, or is she just dreaming?
@LunatheMutt My dog does that too! Im not sure because just now she started twitching and her eyes went up and her breathing was uh... bumpy? So idk D:

@barnesfam That's what I thought, but I was watching a video of a dog dreaming and someone commented on how the dog was having a seizure and that it's cruel, so I just wanted to make sure.
i know a lot of people that neglect real relationships with human family and friends in order to spend more time obsessing about the health of cats and dogs
@werewyrm1 Wow, why would you do that if it's in a situation like that?? You must not know how to take care of things, or might be a little kid :|
Little kid, that is not funny and not cool >:l . When you grow up and do stuff like that, you will be taken to places called "jail". Those places are BAD places, and it really SUCKS at those places... okay? :)
@popaleechee Indeed, the way is not creative at all and is messy. In fact, you can kill it first, with rat poison or anything like that and then skin it! Or if you want a funnier one, skin it alive and shower it on salt. The cute doggie will be jumping and running in happiness! Fun for the whole family, you can do it on humans too!
@werewyrm1 So what you're implying is that you stomp on the dog while it's having a seizure, like on its sides or stomache? If so, that'll still give it bruises and injury :\
What I did when my dog had seizures i spent loads of money on Vet bills with no help. What i did was lose all trust in expensive, commercial pet foods and put my dog on a RAW organ, meat and bone diet.
Just because your dog had a seizure, and the Vets couldn't help with it, now you feed your dog raw meats... and BONES?! D: That sounds cruel, and, if not properly done, your dog can seriously become infected/ill with viruses and bacterias :\
@popaleechee LMAO!! What? You trying to tell me dogs have lived off of dried shit and shit in a tin for 1000s of years?!?!?!? ahahahaha. Well, News flash. They haven't. Us humans got lazy and found it easier to pour greasy dried pellets full of crap into a bowl. Or tins of crap that stink of rotten eggs. Yeah, so much chewing action going on! NOT. My Dog went to the Vets last week for a check up and the Vet couldnt find a damned thing wrong with him. Perfect teeth, perfect coat etc.
@Wtflolyay Most dogs these days don't start off eating raw meats (and bones :| ), so they are usually not immune or used to bacterias and viruses/diseases that live in raw meats. That's why "perfessionals" tell ppl to "cure" any kind of raw meat before giving it to your dog, so it'll kill the bad stuff :\ And just cuz dogs have eaten raw stuff in past, doesn't mean that they have never been sick/killed from the stuff :\ And yes you're right, most of the cheap dog foods look horrible! Dx lol
@popaleechee lmao what the hell. Immune? Dogs have short digestive tracts and strong stomach acid and TEETH that close together like SCISSORS, check your dogs mouth. Their molars are not flat, they are designed to cut meat.. Raw food is in there for around 4 hours. Dry food is in there for up to 12 hours. With kibble there is more chance of them getting ill from bacteria, dogs have DIED from CONTAMINATED PET FOOD. NOT RAW FOOD.
@popaleechee plus, popular pet food brands such as Pedigree, Royal Canin, Whiskas are made by MARS. What do mars make? Oh yeah, sugary junk food. If they make crap for humans they'll make crap for pets. Purina is by Nestle. Nestle also make sugary junk food. Go figure.
@Wtflolyay n_n lol that's why you don't feed them contaminated/expired/moldy pet food... and the bacteria that could get dogs that have never really eaten raw foods sick/killed, are the bacterias that live in raw meats way before the animal is killed :| like those bacterias in pigs/chickens and stuff. And dogs teeth are not strong enough to bite through BONES! Dx You said that's something you feed yours with the meat D: And yeah, I noticed that too; those are the cheap brands haha :)
@popaleechee What are you, 12? My PUGS have been fed MANY raw pieces of CHICKEN including the RAW BONE. My PUGS have eaten RAW BEEF RIBS and ate the bone. They can chew bone very easily. Go do your research before bashing a diet that dogs are designed to eat. Go search for dogs eating the raw diet. There's pugs eating rabbit legs, dogs eating rabbit heads etc. All those dogs are in perfect health and NEVER go to the Vet.
@Wtflolyay I was thinking the same thing about you o_o lol I'm getting the impression that you're like... a 16 yr old skater boy... or something like that lolz... no offense ^_^'
But yeah, bigger dogs could eat bones, but not at once like they can raw meats and dog foods! D: They usually have to chew them for awhile :l
I would have never imagined a small dog being able to chew through bone that quick :\ Maybe a pug, cuz they're like little Bulldogs ^_^
@popaleechee No, I'm a 17 year old girl. lmao. Oh yeah, Even raw chicken bones can be dangerous if fed alone. But i feed them as wings as they're covered in flesh and skin. But i wouldn't feed them without any kind of meat on.
@popaleechee Nah, not at all. The raw food doesn't stink, and it cleans their teeth so their breath doesn't stink. When i fed kibble though they had tartar build up and terrible breath, at not even a year old.
@Wtflolyay Oh, that's pretty goog to hear ^_^ but to be honest, to me meat, especially beef, kind of stinks :l
But just in case you want to feed your dog/s something else besides raw meats for any reason, I don't think it'll hurt much to try one of those "high-quality" foods from a petstore! :)
@popaleechee I did want to feed Orijen or something but i can't find it locally in the UK. I don't know if it's even available in the UK. That's why i fed raw instead. Ah well!
Well there are other brands, like "Euryka", that possibly might be sold in the UK too :\ Try reading the ingredients on the back of the packages and look for anything that says cornmeal. Those are the brands that most likely have added proteins and other chemicals, because it doesn't really contain all the stuff needed for proper growth. Look for all meat ingredients, or no corn/corn-meal in the ingredients! :D
@Wtflolyay I also already know that dogs can CHEW bones, cuz I sometimes feed my Pom beef bones. I never feed them chicken bones though, cuz those can get caught in their throughts like sharp shards sometimes :\
I've fed my other dog some raw meat a couple of times, but at next vet check-up they found that my dog had some type of worms inside of it :( it was the reason it was sick and vomiting so much :\
@Wtflolyay haha, but then again dogs have been eating, and still eat disgusting stuff/anything these days. So foods in cans aren't as bad compared to nasty raw foods, or garbage that they would happily eat off streets ;)
Try buying those "all meat meal" dry food stuff from places like Petsmart. It shouldn't be more than what you probably already spend on meats for your dog :D they range from $20-$100 for the big good-quality bags! xD And there are "gourmet" can foods these days too :l lol
My dog is two years old and we have just got back from the vet after a seizure this morning. This is the first seizure that I know of and was a petrifiying experience for both me and the dog! I felt helpless and didn't know what to do. Thanks so much for posting this, it has really helped. Pity we are currently in Cyprus, I wish we were in the UK or Germany where vets make more sense!
I am curious.. what can the Animal Hospital do after the seizure? twice, took my dog to vet after two short seizures back-to-back, was told to take him to hosp. They did blookwork, and kept him overnight for observation. Picked him up the next day with a $1000 vet bill, with no answers. Decided to keep him home from now on and just comfort him. Is there a reason I'm unaware of though?
wish the entire text was in the description so that the video isn't covered up, also because the text is cut off as well. but very informative and helpful, thank you
My dog has had seizures since he was a puppy and I am not exagerating but they last for hours. Are seizures painful? Vet treatment are very expensive and now I'm not sure if to have him put down. I don't want to though:-(.
@scoobymarc2009 He is a terrier mix, medium sized. He also attacks me if I step on him by accident or if I try to pick him up. He's a loving dog but I have to be careful around him. He's attacked some of my cats and other dogs. I hate thinking about having to put him down. There aren't any children in my home so I'm very tolerant of his behavior.
@MinusG This coming from the one who has a roblox link on his fucking profile. Dude, get a life. Seriously, i've met 12 year olds more mature than you. Your probably a 10 year old who gets trolled on a regular basis. Plus, I don't think 10 year olds lose their virginity :). Also, shut the fuck up and do us all a favor.
@MinusG It's funny as how to you created 3 different profiles just to remove me comment. Or you and your "friends" created them. Either way, you disgust me. I feel like you are a lonely 14 year old who has no body to be with. Either way, you should watch this. It'll help you make friends. watch?v=YEP5OfyCvZY
@MinusG .................CALM DOWN CALM DOWN KID MYSELF AND InsertNameHereldc have finished with your mummy and your father is sniffing around the gloves we had to put on before we went near your infected mothers pussy.........xx

my dog just had a seizure 45 minutes ago and it was the scariest experience in my life with her although it lasted 20-25 seconds. Thanks this helped me alot.
my dog just had a seizure it was pretty bad and it lasted for about 20 mins but she calmed down eventually and i was very nervous and i was wondering if it because she is tormented by my little brother and if it needs to stop
My mouse had one.... She died I was sooo sad, I did everything I could, I put her in a comfortable nest, gave her food and water, and set her up so she could breath better. When I ran down to get my dad for help she already died. :'( R I P Whiskers
i had 2 dogs that died because of .... i dont know.... "HEAT STROKE???" i live in the philippines and its damn hot here i always put water and let them cool down inside our house but it still happens... i dont know why... my late dog is "MASON" a american bulldog... he died after like giving me a "lovidub play time" i dont know why..... i cant let it happen to my weiner dog "EMO" help me prevent this pls
Omg, I just realized something. Do the dogs always show signs of having a seizure?, cause my dog has always had issues with "wetting the bed" she pees when she sleeps, not always but sometimes, then she gets extremly scared when there is thunder and drools and shakes and crys and sits almost on top of you.(shes a big dog).
I think my dog might have just had a seizure. I'm not sure though, she kid of just started walking funny and fell over then started kicking her legs a little, then when she finally got up she kinda served back and forth a little. And this all happened when someone was at the door so she was really excieted. My mom said to just keep an eye on her and see if anything else seems wrong. I'm scared as hell, my dog is my baby :(
@BJF018 wowie it doesnt if u give him more pills then he will get worse i prefrer to take him to te vet they will help im sure and just make your dog feel special if hes sick give him hugs talk to him or her and feed him a nd do things lyk that
I have a 8 year old male mix dog and he is having seizures for few years now. But he gets them every time when females are in heat. Would castrating the dog help?
This video is helpful, but very slow. I Googled "what to do if my dog has a seizure" and this video popped up. My dog was LITERALLY HAVING A SEIZURE as i was watching this woman's polite/extended introduction. By the time i was told to get a blanket (Step 1) his seizure was almost over. This is a good video, but should not be used in an emergency
my dog had 4 seizures.. within the past 2 months and 2 were in the period of one week; he had one standing up; that vet said there was nothing wrong, when he come out of it he is all disoriented and tries to walk and rubs his body and head all over everything.. what do u think we should do?
I'm so sorry for your experience. I believe I'd go to another vet if at all possible. Did they do bloodwork? How about a CAT scan? If not, how can they know nothing is wrong?
My friends Cat Had a one, A cat seizure and a dog seizure arnt that different. They took her to the vet and they gave my friend's cat medicin that she has to take for the rest of her life inorder to stop the seizures. The medicine will make her drowzy for the first couple of days but she hasnt had a seizure for 2 weeks already.
My dog had one once when we were at the beach. Crazy little guy drank too much sea water while we werent looking. poor pugsly always getting himself into trouble. He was a good dog. :)
my dog just had a seizure or muscle spasm not exactly sure what it is. One of her arms was pulled in and really stiff then her body afterwards started moving about in a really odd way. It was really scary.
Afterwards she vomited some white stuff and seemed to be fine afterwards although she was very tired.
the same thing has happened to me last night. EXCEPT he fell out of my tall bed and landed on the wood floor late at night. i was so scared. i put him on my bed and one of his legs was really stiff. he then started shaking. i then tried to help him and it seemed to work when i scratched on his favorite spot. right now he is alright.
We took her too the vets and they said she was ok. I've heard a one off seizure isn't that bad. I think an allergic reaction like getting stung or something could cause it, or just pain.
If your dog has it a few times though i'd be worried.
My dog just had 3 seizures within 12 hours today and just passed away this morning, it had never happened before in her life, scary stuff to see you feel helpless!
@bubita16 He trys to walk?? Well Maybe he is panicing. The best thing to do is take your dog to the vet and see whatthey say about your dog. Yes a dog can die from to many seizures.
i honestly love youi went ot the vet with my dog because she had fell down the stairs and was having what you describe in this video as a seziuer i.e foaming at mouth stiffness leg paddling etc.. the vet told us she had gone into shock from the pain and know i know shes a dumb peice of shit and now im going back to get her checked out you could have just saved my dogs life thank you so very much :)
I had a dog that use to have seizures. When he first started getting them we use to hold him tight but as the years went by he would just crawl underneath my parent's bed and stayed there until he felt better. He preferred it that way. The vet knew about his case and told us the options (which we followed). The only time we took him to the animal hospital during his episodes was when his epilepsy was reaching 1/2 hour.
My dog has seizures for 30 minutes and it's considered normal for her, we were also told that you do not have to take them to the vet's office after every seizure. I think this video applies to dogs who don't have epilepsy but still have seizures.
get blood test at the vets it will determine it has epilepsy like our dog he does great on special food no corn in it at all and meds and depending on size of dog organic coconut oil at whole foods you can but that it helps control the seizures so they get one or 2 a month rather than alot more during the week hope you take my advice if not your dog will die .with out proper help.

1) I think you would know the difference of if your dog is playing around or having a seizure.
2) CALL THE VET while putting your dog in the car or get someone who can drive and get your ass moving.
Covering the dog with a blanket or waiting a few minutes isn't gonna save it's life...

Wtflolyay 1 year ago
@Wtflolyay Umm??? e_e what are you saying?
Just because your dog had a seizure, and the Vets couldn't help with it, now you feed your dog raw meats... and BONES?! D: That sounds cruel, and, if not properly done, your dog can seriously become infected/ill with viruses and bacterias :\
popaleechee 1 year ago
@popaleechee LMAO!! What? You trying to tell me dogs have lived off of dried shit and shit in a tin for 1000s of years?!?!?!? ahahahaha. Well, News flash. They haven't. Us humans got lazy and found it easier to pour greasy dried pellets full of crap into a bowl. Or tins of crap that stink of rotten eggs. Yeah, so much chewing action going on! NOT. My Dog went to the Vets last week for a check up and the Vet couldnt find a damned thing wrong with him. Perfect teeth, perfect coat etc.
Wtflolyay 1 year ago
@Wtflolyay Most dogs these days don't start off eating raw meats (and bones :| ), so they are usually not immune or used to bacterias and viruses/diseases that live in raw meats. That's why "perfessionals" tell ppl to "cure" any kind of raw meat before giving it to your dog, so it'll kill the bad stuff :\ And just cuz dogs have eaten raw stuff in past, doesn't mean that they have never been sick/killed from the stuff :\ And yes you're right, most of the cheap dog foods look horrible! Dx lol
popaleechee 1 year ago
@popaleechee lmao what the hell. Immune? Dogs have short digestive tracts and strong stomach acid and TEETH that close together like SCISSORS, check your dogs mouth. Their molars are not flat, they are designed to cut meat.. Raw food is in there for around 4 hours. Dry food is in there for up to 12 hours. With kibble there is more chance of them getting ill from bacteria, dogs have DIED from CONTAMINATED PET FOOD. NOT RAW FOOD.
Wtflolyay 1 year ago
@popaleechee plus, popular pet food brands such as Pedigree, Royal Canin, Whiskas are made by MARS. What do mars make? Oh yeah, sugary junk food. If they make crap for humans they'll make crap for pets. Purina is by Nestle. Nestle also make sugary junk food. Go figure.
Wtflolyay 1 year ago
@Wtflolyay n_n lol that's why you don't feed them contaminated/expired/moldy pet food... and the bacteria that could get dogs that have never really eaten raw foods sick/killed, are the bacterias that live in raw meats way before the animal is killed :| like those bacterias in pigs/chickens and stuff. And dogs teeth are not strong enough to bite through BONES! Dx You said that's something you feed yours with the meat D: And yeah, I noticed that too; those are the cheap brands haha :)
popaleechee 1 year ago
@popaleechee What are you, 12? My PUGS have been fed MANY raw pieces of CHICKEN including the RAW BONE. My PUGS have eaten RAW BEEF RIBS and ate the bone. They can chew bone very easily. Go do your research before bashing a diet that dogs are designed to eat. Go search for dogs eating the raw diet. There's pugs eating rabbit legs, dogs eating rabbit heads etc. All those dogs are in perfect health and NEVER go to the Vet.
Wtflolyay 1 year ago
@Wtflolyay I was thinking the same thing about you o_o lol I'm getting the impression that you're like... a 16 yr old skater boy... or something like that lolz... no offense ^_^'
But yeah, bigger dogs could eat bones, but not at once like they can raw meats and dog foods! D: They usually have to chew them for awhile :l
I would have never imagined a small dog being able to chew through bone that quick :\ Maybe a pug, cuz they're like little Bulldogs ^_^
popaleechee 1 year ago
@popaleechee No, I'm a 17 year old girl. lmao. Oh yeah, Even raw chicken bones can be dangerous if fed alone. But i feed them as wings as they're covered in flesh and skin. But i wouldn't feed them without any kind of meat on.
Wtflolyay 1 year ago
@Wtflolyay D: you're like the same age as me!! Dx Dey-ja-vu! haha
That sounds believable! I never thought of that possability lol :D but don't you ever have problems with bad dog breathe by feeding them raw meats?
popaleechee 1 year ago
@popaleechee Nah, not at all. The raw food doesn't stink, and it cleans their teeth so their breath doesn't stink. When i fed kibble though they had tartar build up and terrible breath, at not even a year old.
Wtflolyay 1 year ago
@Wtflolyay Oh, that's pretty goog to hear ^_^ but to be honest, to me meat, especially beef, kind of stinks :l
But just in case you want to feed your dog/s something else besides raw meats for any reason, I don't think it'll hurt much to try one of those "high-quality" foods from a petstore! :)
popaleechee 1 year ago
@popaleechee I did want to feed Orijen or something but i can't find it locally in the UK. I don't know if it's even available in the UK. That's why i fed raw instead. Ah well!
Wtflolyay 1 year ago
@Wtflolyay Ah so you're from the UK? :D
popaleechee 1 year ago
@Wtflolyay I also already know that dogs can CHEW bones, cuz I sometimes feed my Pom beef bones. I never feed them chicken bones though, cuz those can get caught in their throughts like sharp shards sometimes :\
I've fed my other dog some raw meat a couple of times, but at next vet check-up they found that my dog had some type of worms inside of it :( it was the reason it was sick and vomiting so much :\
popaleechee 1 year ago
@Wtflolyay haha, but then again dogs have been eating, and still eat disgusting stuff/anything these days. So foods in cans aren't as bad compared to nasty raw foods, or garbage that they would happily eat off streets ;)
Try buying those "all meat meal" dry food stuff from places like Petsmart. It shouldn't be more than what you probably already spend on meats for your dog :D they range from $20-$100 for the big good-quality bags! xD And there are "gourmet" can foods these days too :l lol
popaleechee 1 year ago
Oh yeah, One more thing.... If this raw diet is so bad there would be no dogs around today. Kibble and shit in a tin hasn't been around long.

Do you know what tests my dog should have?
clairejacqueline 1 year ago
I am curious.. what can the Animal Hospital do after the seizure? twice, took my dog to vet after two short seizures back-to-back, was told to take him to hosp. They did blookwork, and kept him overnight for observation. Picked him up the next day with a $1000 vet bill, with no answers. Decided to keep him home from now on and just comfort him. Is there a reason I'm unaware of though?

My dog has had seizures since he was a puppy and I am not exagerating but they last for hours. Are seizures painful? Vet treatment are very expensive and now I'm not sure if to have him put down. I don't want to though:-(.

@cpadill5 what breed is he?
scoobymarc2009 1 year ago
@scoobymarc2009 He is a terrier mix, medium sized. He also attacks me if I step on him by accident or if I try to pick him up. He's a loving dog but I have to be careful around him. He's attacked some of my cats and other dogs. I hate thinking about having to put him down. There aren't any children in my home so I'm very tolerant of his behavior.

I'm scared as hell, my dog is my baby :(

my dog just had a seizure or muscle spasm not exactly sure what it is. One of her arms was pulled in and really stiff then her body afterwards started moving about in a really odd way. It was really scary.
Afterwards she vomited some white stuff and seemed to be fine afterwards although she was very tired.
Spongeb0bSqu4repants 2 years ago
the same thing has happened to me last night. EXCEPT he fell out of my tall bed and landed on the wood floor late at night. i was so scared. i put him on my bed and one of his legs was really stiff. he then started shaking. i then tried to help him and it seemed to work when i scratched on his favorite spot. right now he is alright.
HotChikaRose 2 years ago
We took her too the vets and they said she was ok. I've heard a one off seizure isn't that bad. I think an allergic reaction like getting stung or something could cause it, or just pain.
If your dog has it a few times though i'd be worried.
