  • will this work on acrylic nails? as the tips of my nails are the only part with glitter on i was wondering if this technique would still work.. :):)

  • @flexi2k7 pure acetone will take off the acrylic nail, so if you want just the glitter off, try an acetone free remover, if you are trying to remove the acrylic nail, then let it soak longer

  • Amazing

  • i just found this video because of an user-comment under missglramorazzis newest video!! Sooo helpful!! Thanks for this trick!!

  • @RatlosAlleVergeben me too ! haha

  • thank you soooooooo much for this!!!!! i never where glitter nailpolishes because they are soooo hard to remove but now i can:) THANK YOU!!

  • I've got a question for you, it doesn't have to do with the nail polish removal really.

Anyway, how do you keep your nails so wonderfully long without a nail breakage or a nail layer peeling off or by some other odd fault happening? Because you have great nails!

For me, my middle fingers always break and/or bend while my ring fingers tend to peel off. I know that doesn't sound too proper, but the top layer of the nail really does peel off. It's absolutely ridiculous! Love your video though!. x

  • great trick!!

  • You should consider "diluting" your acetone with glycerin. It makes it a lot less damaging for your nails. For the 32oz bottle you would probably need several cap-fulls of the glycerin...enough so that when you are removing the polish your hands get sticky.

  • Awww ... finally I can wear my glitter nail polishes without spending hours on removing it. Thank you for this!!

  • I just tried this and it worked brilliantly. <3

  • I really love your 2nd day of christmas video! so pretty! can't wait to watch today's :D

  • This absolutely amazing!!! How dud you cine up with this??? Do you mind if I share this tip to my friends???

  • i just did this and it worked amazingly!!! thank you so much

    you're a genius!!

  • Wow! Just did it with China Glaze Party Hearty! worked really well! :) x

  • I did this and one of my nails is broken so I am wearing a glue-on nail. I let them sit for about 7 minutes and it took off the polish wonderfully and the fake nail stayed on perfectly. It didn't even loosen up.

  • Genius! I tried this today to remove China Glaze's "Mistletoe Kisses" and it worked perfectly. It's a miracle! I might even do it for dark shades that stain the skin around the nail during removal.

  • Tried this a minute ago and it worked perfectly thank you so much

  • :O thank u sooooo much i have always strugled with glitter polish it is a bugger to get off :) thanx brooke

  • I always wonder why girls like @ sayanthingbr00ke bother painting their nails! She has beautiful nails but the rest of us NEED nail polish for our nails to look decent XD haha!

  • thank you soo much it´s so easy <3

  • Great job :)

This is pretty much how I have always removed my glitter polishes.. although I never thought of using the foil, I typically just held the cotton ball on my fingers one at a time :)

  • OMG U SAVE MY LIFE ...ALLLL THE TIME UR THE BOMB

  • kind of love you

  • You are the best!!!! Thanks! I was dreading taking off another glittery polish!! <3

  • will this trick still work if you use seche vite top coat? it's really heavy duty stuff.

  • @angeleleven7692 YUP I always have Seche Vite on and it works for that too, cause youre totally right that adds to the difficulty as well!

  • Great idea...thanks for sharing.

  • cool idea, I am really naughty and pick mine off lol :0)xxxJolsxxx

  • You are a freaking genius!

  • could you not just use sellotape to stick it down? :) as that would waste less foil

  • Wow great tip, I always have trouble getting glitter nail polish off. Thanks a ton! :) Xoxo

  • Great tip! I hated trying to get all the glitter off my nails. xoxo :) Carla

  • aside from liking to listen to you talk as I get ready for work/going out/while I'm painting my nails, your videos are ridiculously helpful. going to try this out right now.

^ that doesn't sound creepy or anything.

  • you are a Goddess!!! It was like magic!!!!!

  • @ayuyun I've been doing this for year and my fingers hasn't fallen off yet.

  • Added Bonus: it is now acceptable to buy your friends large amounts of cotton balls and tinfoil as gifts.

Hows that for a money saving gift idea?!

  • this is genius! Thanks so much(:

  • Wou, Im gonna try that :D I love to use glitter polish in just one or two nails... It looks so pretty ~

  • Brooke, you are a genius!!!! I love my glitter polishes but I cuss up a storm when I'm trying to remove them. This is just awesome & THANK YOU for sharing that tip with us!! You ROCK!

  • Excellent! What a pain these glitters can be!! Thanks :0)

  • this is genius. it's going to make taking off my nail polish so much easier. thank you!

  • This is what I do..I learned it from when I got acrylics removed once. Goooood trick!

  • you wasted your nail polish =O and yo did it for us =D you are such a great girl, thanks for the tip ^^

  • This is amazing! But sometimes I'm way too lazy to remove glittery polish with removers, I just always pick off glitter polish cause it comes off in big chunks usually and I can just peel it pretty much lol

  • i really wanna take off the glitter polish i just put on just so i can try this hahaha

  • lol its funny how everyone seems to have problems removing their glitter polish. I use a non-acetone professional nail polish remover, i get it a chinese nail supply store and it takes me seconds to remove my glitter nail polish :S

  • u can do this to soak off fake nails so u dont rip up your nails!

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

  • wow what a great tip Brooke! So simple and so great I am gonna do that as I have been using Party Hearty etc on my nails!

  • hey, the bottom of your nail (near the cuticle) is purple...why? because the bottom of my nails are purple too and i never knew why :/

  • If you have mad as a hatter by OPI that one is a pain!!!!! Thanks for the tip

  • my brother was repainting his car over the summer and he had to use acetone to get the paint off the car parts. He told me I could try it to get my glitter nail polish off. It worked amazingly and he gave me the rest of his acetone! :)

  • amazingggggg

  • The funny thing is I'm sitting here trying desperately to remove OPI Absolutely Alice while watching YT and I see that you are doing a video on the very same topic! Very helpful, thank you.

  • Brooke....any suggestions for brittle nails? Mine flake at the end and are very weak!

  • u have pretty nails mine wont grow :(

  • *shudder* this tip looks great but for some reason looking at the foil gave me shivers... i always get goosepimples when i touch the damn stuff :)

  • @Aoifxxx Me TOO!!!

  • this is awesome so i will probably be wearing more glitter cause i love glitter nail polish!

    thanks! =]

  • smart!

  • so great.. i'm gonna try it right away..love your vids, they're useful and makes me smile..

  • This is how I remove my forever manicured baked on polishes. Great trick.

  • Great!!!

but does it work for acrylic nails?

I'me afraid to remouve my whole nail....

  • @kleinepukkie1 Yeah acetone dissolves acrylic nails so dont do it! haha

  • @sayanythingbr00ke it wont if you work quickly. i use pure acetone all the time on my acrylics ; ]

  • Comment removed

  • @kleinepukkie1 no, don't use acetone on your acrylics. They will indeed end up melting off. I have acrylics and have tried this but with using acetone-free but i still don't recommend doing that as it can still eat away at the acrylic and it looks yuk until your next in-fill, and you can increase the risk of them breaking off etc. Unfortunately we are left to just scrub it off =(

  • @kleinepukkie1 you can use acetone free polish remover, i've done it

  • @kleinepukkie1 You can do this with acetone free nail polish remover. It shouldn't hurt your acrylics at all.

  • @kleinepukkie1

But you can do it with non-acetone polish.

  • @kleinepukkie1 They have acetone free nailpolish remover though c:

  • Comment removed

  • man wish I would have seen this a couple days ago lol it was my first experience removing thick glitter polish. pain! I definitely have to try this! Love your tutorials

  • I bought the OPI Burlesque polish and all it does is flake off in huge chunks (sometimes even an entire nail's worth). I've tried a multitude of base coats and top coats, even trying them without a base coat. Any suggestions?

  • Really Helpful,Quick,Genius !! Thanks for the tip !!!!!

  • glad somebody finally did a vid on this cause i use glitter polishes like all the time!

  • oh my goshh, forget only doing this with glitter, this is a great way to take off nail polish in general!

  • wow! I'm totally going to do this when I take off party hearty by china glaze. That was such a nightmare to remove. haha. Thanks for the tip(:

  • It's magical *-*

  • genius brooke! :)

  • This is a miricle! :)

  • wow that is a great tip!!!

  • im defintely trying this!

  • best tip ive gotten all year.

  • nice! this is pretty much how i remove acrylic nails.

  • YOU ARE A GOD.

  • wow! this is cool!!!! thanx! happy holidays girl!

  • Great tip! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • thank you! thank you! thank you! thank you! thank you! thank you! thank you! thank you!

  • All you did was steal this idea from Colette from SimpleLittlePleasues, she did this first so no big shocker!

  • WHA!!!!!!!! Holy freakin cow I GOTTA TRY THAT!!! THANKS!!!!

  • I have tried this with saran wrap as well, but foil works better. The tin foil/wrap helps keep the polish remover from evaporating too quickly as well, letting it have time to break down the polish. Thanks for sharing...

  • I used this method when I first used Mad as a Hatter by OPI...I had heard it was a total pig to remove! This works AMAZINGLY WELL!!! I do this every time I use glitter polish. It DOES look weird, but works, so who cares!! :)

  • THANKS BROOOOKE!

I just painted my nails a bluuuuue glittery polish and am so gonna do this when removing the polish!

    you are the best! :)

  • I love this method!

  • *evil laugh* now i can buy glitter polishes again
