hydraulic fracturing creates jobs, pays the bills, and puts food on the table; not every body is cut out to be a physician, an attorney...etc. The liberal mindset wants the cake and eat it too!...Liberalism is a serious mental disorder; its like teaching an ape to play Bach or Beethoven; it's not gonna happen.
GET THE AMERICAN FRACKING OUT OF IRELAND. THE IRISH WILL NOT BENEFIT. WE WILL BE HARMED BY THIS AMERICAN COMPANY , PLEASE HELP IRELAND, AND STOP THIS HELL ENTER IRELAND ,
I've had 4 holes fraced near my home in east texas, and by near I mean right accross the street, and I've never experienced any of the issues complained about below, except the noise, but that's just life. Infact, it seems only certain types of people are bothered by it, certain demographics....certain types of voters, maybe?
it ruins water, it puts toxic chemicals into the air, insurance companies are no longer allowing new clients in these areas because they feel there will be a much higher probability of earthquakes... not to mention the chemicals put into the air... if chemical companies did this they would be shut down forever but yet the government allows this to happen to all our homes... research marcellus shales by looking at essentialdissent2's video's on here... the truth about marcellus shale
lafeurplumeria until you live next door to ongoing gas well drilling and hydraulic fracturing you can give big oil and gas the benefit of the doubt.
We have been driven from our home, our air so polluted you cannot go to the park without developing respiratory symptoms, property values decreased by 78% when drilling move in, noise level decimel readings over 95 for days on end.
We are in competition for the same air and water and big gas and greed is winning. This does not seem like fairness
What wildlife lives in underground water? Groundwater supplies the surface water all living things. Required for life! Duh!
It has happened here in the Barnett Shale. The chemicals used in fracturing fluids (disclosed on MSDS sheets) have shown up in the blood and organ biopsy of a very sick family here in Texas
There is no other way for the chemicals could have contaminated this family except air and water from gas drilling site. Their doctors has said move right away or you will die.
UR additive list is not full disclosure but vague discription of the chemical ur company pump into our envirornment.
It is about everything gas companies r doing to ruin our quality of life in the Barnett Shale.
Someone commented "what wildlife drinks underground water" REALLY! R we REALLY dealing with people who R that stupid?
We have 3 wells 200ft from our city park, 251ft from homes, 500 ft from a hospital, and less than 1000ft from a nursing home. GREED GREED GREED GREED GREED!
@scubawithdog Greed or "competition," which is it? Greed is an accusation, whereas competition implies a level of fairness. Today's business environment is most difficult for anyone in the oil and gas industry. Not everyone is a scoundrel. I would rather give the benefit of the doubt and allow someone to try and satisfy a need while struggling to stay in business. Again, until they don't deserve it, give them the benefit of the doubt.
@scubawithdog Have you seen or heard about FracFocus[dot]org? It is a newly launched online registry of chemical additives used in the hydraulic fracturing process. We have voluntarily listed ours (specific additives) there on a well-by-well basis.
You make a number of uninformed statements about someting you obviously know nothing about. Your ilk are the source of greed because you want to deny an asset we all need so your neighborhood won't be inconvenienced. Sit and wait for $10 gal gasoline provided by the Chinese and see how stong America will be.
It's funny how politics work. Oil companies will promise the state a bunch of things but if nobody unforced it they do what they want. On a multimillion dollar project would you want a bunch of green guys doing the work or people who have years of experience. To drill and complete a well it actually takes slot of engineering and skilled labour. The men who do these jobs have families back home that they are trying to support. Just because a person does a particular job doesn't make him evil.
@ChesapeakeEnergy What's the difference you all are drilling and contaminating water not just Cabot. And I'm really sick of your billboards saying it's clean energy. The only clean energy is wind and solar. I luv the commercials that say your companies cannot afford a 5% severence tax. Last year all the gas companies in Pa made $174 million!!!!!!! NEPA wants clean air and water not Chesapeake or any other frackers!!!! You must be planning something in my area your stupid signs are everywhere !
@dmanfan420 We have many informational resources available to those with questions/concerns about the horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing process. You can find them by visiting hydraulicfracturing[dot]com.
I guess you didn't watch the part where the first step is insulating the water table from the drill casing before further drilling proceeds. are your comments fully informed or prejudiced by preconcetions?
@dmanfan420 We are working to hire more in-state folks. In fact, there was a recent story in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review about the growth in jobs for locals at Chesapeake. It takes time, but we're getting there. We'll even be hosting interviews and informational sessions at Penn State later this month.
@ChesapeakeEnergy It would seem important for you to ensure there is no misunderstanding here. You are saying that you have a complete list of additives. Is that the same as saying: you have the entire list of additives that you have used, and are continuing to use?
@lafleurplumeria Have you seen or heard about FracFocus[dot]org? It is a newly launched online registry of chemical additives used in the hydraulic fracturing process. We have voluntarily listed ours (specific additives) there on a well-by-well basis. Check it out.
@scubawithdog What wildlife lives in groundwater? Do you know anything about geology? Yes some wildlife lives in groundwater occurring in caves, but we're not drilling through any limestone formations in AR. In case you are wondering, the freshwater zones are protected from the frac fluid (99.5% water and sand) by casing and cement, which is placed in the well bore before they even start the horizontal portion of the borehole.

What is in your fracturing fluid and why do you not want to disclose it to Congress.
We love your around the clock drilling!
You still drill through Aquifers and that would be like poking a hole through a ballon without letting any air in or out.
Does OSHA approve of the amount of emissions and chemical your employees are exposed to?
Surfactant reduces friction but in the ground water causes wildlife to die a slow death by asphyxiation. U use it? NICE!
