@bouncy1128807 Actually, I think they are saying that they don't see how taking their "wealth" and giving it to an inept government could help the country. The government isn't a saviour. Many of us give money as well as time to causes we believe in - organizations we think can actually help people. The government isn't on that list, yet it tries to force us to give to it, rely on it, and give up our rights to it. Why support that?

Those orgs dont rake in trillions of dollars a year like the government does. They don't have the capacity to do anywhere near as much good as does the gov't. Thru social programs the gov't DOES help many Americans in need.

Whether u like it or not, as a US citizen the only power u have is your vote. Otherwise u are subject to the US gov't. Rights are something that the gov't concedes TO us, i.e. the Bill of Rights, and nowhere in there does it say they can't raise and lower taxes as needed.

I love when people blame Obama for the stimulus when it was Bush admin that came up with the $700 bailout package for the banks. Bush took 2 days to come up with that number and pushed through everybody's throat. This is a bi-partisan problem, nobody in Congress has any spine whatsoever, they just fold to pressure and fear. But no worries, the credit card default debt will make everybody wake up and it's gonna start Q3 with the banks.

goma3 there are those of us that were there that have been protesting this thing from several years ago. I voted for Ron Paul. I believe that we are going to always have these booms and bust as long as we have a fiat dollar along with the Fed. I enjoyed being at the tea party in Tyler and it was great to see others there as well.

goma3: read the back issues of your newspapers. Nancy Pelosi and her majority forced that bail out through. Remember how she squealed that the Republicans were trying to damage our economy for political reasons? It wasn't all the Republicans, or only Republicans. Some Democrats were also trying to be fiscally responsible as well, but they cratered to what must have been unholy pressure. Check whose districts received the most pork. Our elected reps are to blame, and we put them there.
