BEST ANSWER on this subject: I do not like to get in the habit of saying one style is better than others. In regards to karate as a sport-I believe tournament compeition, that while it has some benefits, it does create a mindset and habits that will not work for actual combat. I also agree that when you can not attck the joints, eyes, throat, fingers, groin, etc that a true martial artist would not be able to effectively use their style.
Absolutely wonderful. Tremendous power in technique. Though I don't study a different style of karate, I definitely learn from these videos the importance of power in technique.
@meaks88 This is not "a big mistake"check your information and you will find that JKA (the original) is in fact called Gojushiho Dai and Kanazawa Sensi changed it to Sho when he broke away and formed SKIF as he thought was that this kata's movements reflected the word 'Sho'which means smaller or lessor in Japanese. Here endeth the Shotkan lesson!
muito bem executado,é um dos meus kata favoritos. em executá-lo executo constantemente os 26 kata shotokan, porem hangetsu, sochin, gojushiho dai e meikyo, têm algo especial para mim, OSS !

This is probably the best Gojushiho Dai I have ever seen. Just the right combination of speed, timing, force, and stability.
