  • I just happened to come across your youtube page and thought I would drop a line.

  • I want a ghd soooo bad! I used to have naturally straight hair but after I cut my hair it started to go all curly and if I wanted to get that straight look I used to have I had to straighten my hair. I own a Remington and a VS Sassoon. They do straighten my hair but about 2 hours later it goes curly again. I've heard about ghd's and their everlasting - straightness and now I really want one!

  • I use Remington's Straightener Limited Edition

  • I bought my chi at jc pennys :P

  • @Pinkbillie5

purely gorgeous, def not too much

seems that more and more women dont have the money for makeup since its so pricey :(

One option is to check out the contest MAC is running this month...tons of makeup for free

Hope be of help to some of ui'll save ya some searching, heres the contest pagegiveaway site.

    WAY。COM/MAKEUP113

oh an the code for page 2 is mac52

  • which straiqhtner woould you recommend foor thick, curly hair . My hair is medium to lonq , & its very curly , but i usually blow dry it before straiqhtneninq it , i Donnt really have a problem with the straiqhtneninq part, but i have to keep qoinq over and over it aqain. Its also very thick so it takes a lot of time , and my straiqhtner makes it frizzy, so which one do you think would work best on my hair ?

  • @BrzBabyPa if you're blowdrying before straightening it, it'll get a little poofy if it's what im picturing. before blowdrying, remember to either use a heat protectant spray (such as the tresemme heat tamer spray) or even a balm (lacoupe makes good heat protectant balms!). after blowdrying, use a heat protectant specifically for flat-ironing!) and use an original chi (or a flat iron that has a high degree, such as 400 degrees.)

  • @BrzBabyPa the problem with using a flatiron without the degree showing, is that you dont know how high it is. instead of going over your hair again and again, use a higher temperature:)

  • in want to get a wide GHD but my dad bought me a thin one for my b-day and i'm not aloud to buy a new one till it breaks lol.

  • so then break it.... hehehe totally just kidding DON'T lol

  • i had a chi and it only lasted a year...and it sux cuz i loved it..i got another one frm sallys some french one...but i dnt like it

  • theres an easier and faster way to curl with an iron. I think elle has a vid about it :)

  • I have the original chi flat iron and i looove it!

  • I've had the same Chi for 8 years now! Maybe I'm just lucky though lol.

  • Comment removed

  • i've had 3 chis and they all only lasted one year. and i took good care of all of them. i upgraded to ghd. looove it =]

  • do chis tend to have a short life span

  • I have an orginal chi flat iron, and I had it for a while. It really depends on how you treat your tools, if you take care if it (no dropping etc) it`ll last longer :D

  • no just take good care of the chi dont rap the cord around it!!

  • @lushbunnie531 well sometimes.. my chi broke down in a year.. and perhaps it was because i travelled with it alot! and when you wrap the cord around your flat iron, it's supposedly the worst thing ever? so just don't do that if you get/have a flat iron. i have the chi-digital (you control the heat settings) and it's going strong, it's getting to a year though, so we'll see:)

  • where can I get the chi besides the Internet? Wat store?

  • not stores. Salons. Word to the wise- if you dont buy it at a salon the warranty isnt valid.

  • Trade Secrets but it's more expensive

  • ulta

  • I have two different flat irons - the Conair and the Lucznik and the Conair actually works really well even though it's generic, it's a cheap one from Wal-Mart but I like it : ) and the Lucznik is this REALLY nice one from Poland which I'm sure anyone could find somewhere on this crazy thing we call the "internet"

  • i heard the chi flat irons break after a few months but when they're good they work REALLY well .

  • HOW ABOUT THE INSTLYER

  • its horribly annoying. the sound it BLAH

  • DO IT WORK GUD

  • you can actually just put the flat iron as close to the root as possible and then turn in 180 degrees and just slide it down your hair in constant motionit'll give a really nice curl and it takes about the same time as a regular curling ironplus its way easier than the way you tried=]

  • flat irons work really well to curl hair if you have really long hair, because on a curling iron, by the time you are twisting the bottom of the strand, the top of the strand has been heated for way longer, so the curl is always tighter at the top than at the bottom. Also, sometimes you run out of room on the curling iron and the ends of the hair aren't even touching the hot part. With a flat iron, the whole strand is heated for the same amount of time.

  • well umm all those are like really expinsive...when you said $140.00 for the little tiny chi my mouth just dropped open

  • Their better quality though.

  • true that!!

i hav a hot tools 1 n it take 3 hrs 2 straighten my hair!!

i hav alot of hair n its wavy n thick.

but at a hair salon it only takes like 15-30 mins to get like a pin straight hair with a ghd a chi a juno a hai..

so it is tottaly worth the price!!

it will also prevent ur hair from frying..

it will cus less damage then a cheap crappy iron.

  • what do you recomend for damaged hair from flat iron? like what can you use to make it healthy again?

  • you can't really do anything once it is damaged....you have to just cut it off.....those commercials and stuff that say a shampoo or cream will repair your hair are all lies.

  • thx 4 makeing this video... now i know wht to go 4 if i need a new flatiron... =)

  • Check out "Misikkotv" on YouTube. She's fabulous! She's a licensed cosmetologist.

Also, the chi nano, is not true ceramic. It's only has ceramic coating, not solid plates. Something to think about.

  • Has anyone noticed a smell to their hair after using gold plated styling tools? I have a Helen of Troy 2" curling iron with gold plating and it always makes my hair stink like burn. What gives?

  • I have a Conair Ceramic Technology one it's so awesome I love it I think I paid like 30 for is, it has like 25 different heat settings it even has a removable comb on the end of it., I just can't curl with it because it's like 2 or 2 1/2 inches wide.

  • I have the conair infiniti. It's 2 inches but it straightens really well.

  • I want that many flat irons. I have the one and it buggs me when it doesn't straighten my hair!

If I had more then one I wouldn't have that problem!

  • is the pink chi as good as the original?

  • AMIKA!!!

  • i love chii:)

  • you can call it a flat iron...there is no "correct" way of the two.

  • if anyone is looking for a great flat iron for CHEAP--- go for CONAIR INFINITI!!!! it is amazingggggg and makes your hair PIN straight and keeps it silky any questions feel free to ask =)

  • the ends of my hair die and i was wonderin wat u use to help keep ur hair healthy

  • GHD or CHI??!!!!!!!

  • Ghd

  • Holy, hvae enough flat Irons????

Not that haveing like 3 is a bad thing. but holy crap

  • heyy can u plzzz tell me how wide flat iron is ideal ...is 1" good for all hair type?

  • ofcourse CHI is the best...which is was i use!

  • hey,

i am in the UK and i dont really like the GHD very much.

my favourite straightner is FHI and that is also the hottest straughtner you can get.

    x

  • I found out about GHD when i lived in England, thats pretty much all they use over there. It was by far the most amazing straightener, although I had to sell it when i moved to the states because it had a different wall plug.

  • What is better the chi or ghd?

  • personally...the chi, it is cheaper, and does the exact same thing as the ghd!

  • I have a lot of hair and its thick. the chi looks small and like it would take a long time to straighten lol But there cute so i guess ima go with that.

  • i have the CHI and i love it ive had it for about 3 years and ive dropped it so much but it still works it perfect.

  • i USE A GHD FLAT iRON iT HAS LASTED ME ABOUT TWO YEARS EVEN THOUGH i DROP iT LiKE EVERYDAY HAHA & iTS SO GOOD iT iS A LiTTLE PRiCEY BUT iTS DEFiNETLEY WORKS iT! LOVEE iHEARTOCB

  • i have really curly, thick hair, and recently i bought a Conair Steam Straightener ($93.00)which steams moisture into your hair, giving it a shiny look (in addition to being super straight). i totally love it, and my hair has never been this straight, soft, and shiny, even with the Chi

  • i live on an island so the air is humid, would it hold even through that weather? because with my current flat iron (cheap thing) it doesnt hold longer than around 40 minutes if i dont sweat

  • I haven't tried CHI straighteners , but I currently have Sedu straightener and I loveee it completely.

I recommend it to people who's looking for great straighteners, it's totally worth the money! :)

  • the babyliss is the best one in my opinion. you should really check in out! it works better than the chi and goes 40% faster than the others :)

  • Do you need a heat protective spray for Solid Ceramic Flat irons. The flat iron said "The srraightener should be used only on clean, dry hair. " Do you still need a heat protective spray?

  • Yep, you should still use heat protective spray even if it's 100% ceramic. Alike all flat irons (no matter what they claim) they will damage your hair over time. So it's better to be safe then sorry! =D

  • Can you do this but on fav curling iron ? Or just reply and tell me which work good Please !

  • I hate CHI flat irons but I love the silk infusion. I have 2 Babyliss flat irons and they are AWESOME. And only $40! My sis-in-law has a CHI and she always borrows mine!!

  • i love the babyliss! it works so well! i would recommend it to anyone!

  • The CHI is actually really bad. I had one and it left my hair completely dry! I had the CHI nano and like other CHIs it's not 100% ceramic so it WILL damage your hair. In other words it's like a fancy toaster. After using the CHI for 4 months it gave my hundreds of split ends! (I found one that had 6 splits!) If you're going to buy a flat iron then make sure it has PTFC heating. And get 100% Tourmaline plates, 100% ceramic plates or Tourmaline and Ceramic. (The Sedu is top right now.) =0

  • oh and btw to make a wave with a standard chi just do what u were doing except keep it turned sideways while you pull down and go outwards. it works really well.

  • oh nvm, i said that cuz i thought u said it only straightens but yeah...nvm

  • i have the standard black chi, it curls and makes waves too.

  • REQUST: How Do You Curl Your Hair With A CHI?

The Other Videos Won't Work. Please Show Me I Will Check It Out. Thank You

  • I think people use a flat iron as a curling iron because some people just don't have enough money to spare to buy two.

  • The CHI is not real ceramic.

  • you wear the best tops in your videos!

i cant wait, i just saw a blue chi nano at ulta for 100

i'm defiantly going to go buy it now!

    thanks PB!

  • HAve you heard about the ISO international flat iron ,if u have do u recommend it

  • the chi wet to dry is actually a really good striaghtener because you dont have to have your hair 90% dry. once you get out of the shower, as long as it isn't wringing wet, it straightens super straight and leaves your hair volumnfied and shiny! i just wish it would curl like the original, yet it saves alot of time because with the wet to dry you dont have to blow dry your hair!

  • i used the Remington Wet to strsight on wet or dry hair it depends if i take my shower at night or in the morning i t works perfectly good for 3o dollars

  • i have that!!! but i dont use it right after i wash my hair idk i feel like it might burn my hair

  • i have the original chi flat iron. the one she showed second. my friend has like REALLY thick and curly hair and i used my chi flat iron on her hair and it was like amazing! it was straight in like 30-45 min. 4 her becuzse her hair is really thick and curly. but i love it!

  • my husband got me a helen of troy flat iron. is that a good brand to use?

  • Oh Yeah, the Conair Steamer is $109.99

  • I recommend, Infiniti by Conair Ionic Steam Straightener, it pricey but definitely worth it... Well I guess its not a flat iron though...

  • guess wat i got taourmline and cermic iron from 15pound so nice 20min for long hair

  • i think you find it hard to curl with a ghd because it hold it in place all you have to do is turn it 180 and pull down not keep twisting it

  • thats a bad technique, it will ruin your hair fast like when you curl ribbon

  • i feel it ok i do it to my hair it fine

  • r steam flatirons better thnen ceramic flat irons?? i heard tehy make your hair health or keep it health does that work???HELP!!

  • i personally think they make your hair like a frizzball

  • hi, do you know if the CHI Iron Guard Protection Spray works well? Do you use it on dry or wet hair? And will it make your hair look greasy?

  • I own it, and it works GUHHREAAT! (: But I would spray as little as needed, and avoid spraying directly on the roots. I usually do a few sprays on my hand and rub it in the roots myself... But it protects really well! It does have sort of a slight men's cologne smell to it though... Oh, and I use it on dry hair! (:

  • hey lovepink1246,i think it is a great product i like to put it in damp hair.and dont put to much or it will make ur hair look greasy but overall i think it is great

  • you people need the rusk!

  • is amika or chi better?

  • when you curl your hair with the chi you dont have to kep twisting.... you just twist one full turn and then pull... it curls my hair in about twenty minutes and i have long thick frizzy hair.... it takes me about an hour to curl with a curling iron. The curls from the flat iron are more natural looking and are similar to the curls you see on the red carpet.

  • i F0RG0T AB0UT BEATUTY CH0iCE

    i JUS B0UGHT MY SiS A CHI FLAT iR0N

    F0R X-MAS F0R $130 AT JCPENNY SAL0N

    && i C0ULD HAVE B0UGHT iT CHEAPER

    =(

  • If you buy anything from a salon, they are going to be a lot more money. Salon's are trying to get the reputation that their products are better but, they usually use, cheaper, good products that you can buy for less money at a regular store/website.

  • hahaha

  • wat?

  • when you wave your hiar,

    don't release...just keep

going on the one strand :D

  • fhfzjj

  • I use the remington wet 2 straight straightener and it works sooooo well I love it it works almost excacly like the CHI but its only 20-40 dollars

  • seriously what's a really goOoood straightener people?! it's hard to trust any reviews on youtube since many are sponsored by the websites that give them the free products

  • the best flat iron eveeerrrr is the T3 Pro Mini, my sister has the chi and i tried it and it was absolutely nothing compared to the T3, i have the T3 and it gets an amazing grip on your hair and i timed the minutes it took to heat up- 60 seconds!!! its amazing! ! and unlike the chi, you can set your own heat while the chi is already set to a temp. that might not be right for your hair. so get the T3!

  • thank you sooo much!!! Will def. check out it out!

  • chi is like 17 seconds

  • i have the original chi (black one) it lasted e about more than two years. then all of a sudden one of the ceramic plates just fell off. i'm sad but i'm looking to buy a different brand.

  • Hey Elessa? What do you like better? The FHI hot sauce or the CHI Silk Infusion?

  • :( i can't find the ghd flat iron on beauty choice

  • CHI is the best no doubt. :) ♥

  • my mom bought a chi for my sister for her birthday and then it broke like three days later. but all she did was use it

  • which ones healthier for ur hair??

and can u tell me the price for each one??

    please.

  • i dont like chi flat irons they are so hot i wish they wud do some padding so i wont burn my fingures but yeah and i wud think that ppl like to curl their hair with flat irons so when they travel they dont need to bring a flat iron and a curling iron (: iuno xD

  • i have the HAI it works soo good!!!

  • my straightener has titanium plates are they healthy for your hair?

  • no. you need ceramic plates. titanium may burn through your hair and damage it

  • the nano-chi (the first one you showed) seemed to stop alot when you were straightening your hair and it didnt seem to go thru it completely smoothly

  • yes i love my ghd but i also think that the babyliss have a great range!

  • i have the standard!! and i love it i got it at amazon

  • i love love love my SEDU...it's amazing

  • wat should i do if i have shoulder lenghth wavy thick hair? BTW my friend use a flat iron to curl the hair and it works like a charm.

  • Wide GHD

  • i just want to say that when you lift your roots with a flat iron, don't pull the flat iron all the way through. only flat iron the roots because if you flat iron the whole strand of hair till the end your hair becomes strait and instead of going back it'll pull forward.

i don't know how to explain but it's harder to control if you flat iron the whole way

  • My Chi has broken way to many times that I changed to a Babyliss..so much better than the Chi.

  • i've tried a lot of flat irons! including GHD but i don't know why ppl raved about it! i still love the CHI!

  • about the chi's breaking, if you go to FAROUK website, there is something on there that mentions broken chi's. and you can actually send in your chi with a check for $35 and they will fix your chi. if they are unable to fix it, they will replace it for free!

i'm totally serious. i sent mine in and just got it back today. however.. it seems to take AWHILE. but your tutorials on curling hair was a cute subsitute while my chi was in the shop. :) i love your videos!

  • I have the extra wide GHD IV straighteners and they are amazing! my hair is naturally curly and using these to straighten my hair only takes 15 minutes compared to the 2 hours i used to spend on it!

  • u look like my mate;;; X

  • i love the pro select..hai was working fine until the ceramic cover started chipping off..:(

  • i love the pro select!

  • ive got a chi nano

best flat iron ive ever got

  • DISREGARD this COMMENT, I am just checking something!

  • i have a chi, but i srsly wanna get an instyler :] hehe

  • I have a Vidal Sasoon flat iron for 2 years now it works great on my thick long hair plus the price is inexpensive, btw my husband bought it for me when I came to USA.

  • thats exactly the order i had. i had revlon and it sucked and then i got the jade one and that ones nnot that good either. hehethx for this

  • chi is over rated

  • Is there a proper order when using a flat iron? When I straighten my hair I go from the bottom layer up and I noticed you did it reverse. Is it just a preference when it comes to straightening order? :)

  • I was lookin up reviews for diferent flat irons and there were a bunch saying that the CHI burns their hair. Personally i haven't tried it but i do have 2 SEDU flat irons and they have served me very well! keeps your hair shiny and healthy and NEVER burns. you can also check the reviews on it... i hardly found any that were disappointed for the SEDU =)

  • The "Coriolis" is an AMAZING flat iron!!! :)

  • I agree with piinkKNICKERS

    The Coriolis IS amazing!

  • I have the True Ceramic Pro flat iron and I love it! I think I paid like 150 for it and it has surved me well...Thanks for this review.

  • A Have Those GHDS Cant Live Without Them !!

Really Good For Thick Hair (: !

  • You should try the Paul Mitchell Pro tools hair straighteners..AMAZING! I finally just purchased one for myself :) You should to a tutorial on a bunch of different ways to style your hair with a straightener. I'm getting bored of just straightening and curling!

  • You should try the Turbo Ion Croc flat iron. I've tried a lot too, and so far this is the best for my thick asian hair. I went through: Chi, FHI, HAI, Magic Ionic, Sedu... Croc is the best for me.

  • what do you think of the babyliss straightener?

  • Chi for under $100?

    i'm totally switching.

  • THANK YOU!!! I want to get a flat iron for Christmas and wasn't sure what to get! This video has made my decission for me :)

  • lol that stuff about the negative ions and positive ions is complete bullshit

    but good video anyway =)

  • the t3 is my favorite by far.

  • Is Chi or Amika better?

  • Can you make a favorite curling iron video? I'm really interested in buying one and have no idea.

  • at 3:05 you said you bring a comb through, i tried that and it totally warped the comb :/

  • Your straightener might be wayyy too hot if it's melting the comb like that. Maybe you can wait until the straightener is farther down the strand of hair your straightening to start combing so your hair has time to cool a little.

  • ok can do

buut honestly my iron wasnt on too high

it can go up to 420 degrees i think.

i had it about a quarter of the way up i never put it even near that hot :S

    hmm..

  • Wow, I don't know how hot mine gets. I usually use a brush instead of a comb so maybe that's why I'm not used to the melting lol.

  • yeaa

    oh, thats a good idea!

wow i never thought of that, when i straighten my hair next i'll try that :]

  • :) Ok. Sometimes brushes make it all static-y? So I just kind of straighten.. But running a brush through after every time really helps it stay smooth. I barely bother to do my hair completely anymore since I cut it, but I used to straighten it everyday. Using a product before you blow dry or air dry helps, like Garnier fructis smoothing silk.

  • Hi bingolax34; she mentioned that technique in another video where she explained to just place the comb at the roots so it doesn't burn your scalp, don't follow the comb all the way through. She didn't mention that last part but I guess for your sake she should have recapped. Anyways, I hope you try it again because it is a good technique if you just use it as a barrier at the roots. It's kind of tideous, but it's worth it to not blister your noodle! Happy Christmas!

  • i used one i think it was marc brown or something like that and it was good but the wiring broke within a few years because of the way it was moved but now i used the nano silver and it works about the same but the cord swivels and moves so nothing'll go loose and i've liked these because they go so hot i just run it through once and it's straight,i have mine at 210 C,they're a bit more expesive because my stylist recommended them for us but she used her discount 4 us and they're amazing!

  • if you will use sedu flat iron...you will forget chi...for sure!

  • I have the original chi the black one.. and i love it! I curl my hair all the time.. and i've made a video here on youtube showing it.. i'm going to try and make a video of how to wave it too!! great video~!~

  • OH WOW! I agree with the whole why use an flat iron to curl when you can just use the curling iron..lol...i though i was alone with that thought

  • Please please please do a review on the Lancome Oscillating mascara. I really want to try it!!!!!! I want a really great mascara.

  • if you want a great mascara then i dont recomend you use pharmacy/drug stor/ supermarker ect bought cosmetics i recomend the tarte mascara you get that at sephora it conditions and doesent leave your lashes crasty itmakes your lashes apears longe rbut in my cas ei have long lashes so i recomend the dazzle lash by mac, it clumps but once you go through it with an eyelash bursh its great it lifts your lashes up and they feel so lightweight and feel and look so natural its great!
