  • This piece has always blown me away.

  • Wow!

  • Amazing! This song is beautiful

  • absolutely BEAUTIFUL interpretation.

  • 7:41 JIZZ IN MY PANTS

  • my favourite chord in the whole song is the one at 0:34, after the 3 bass notes dum dum dum DUM sounds so nice, almost jazzy i love it

  • I absolutely love the coda of this piece.

  • yund li is dating erin burnett. unbelievable

  • 4:15 - 4:30 it looks as if he's looking down at himself playing thinking, 'Holy shit, I'm so good. Wow I'm so fucking good at this shit'

  • my favourite interpretation of this piece!

  • the CODA was wonderful

  • This is a fucking toccata!

  • @nielssen9 toccata means keyboard piece...any piece can be a toccata

  • @audreyhsux5727 But a toccata it's for virtuosos. You have to be able to play really fast to interpret a toccata because a toccata is a flourishment piece with lots of figures in every bar. Like the fast passages of this "scherzo"!

  • @nielssen9 heard of one of bachs partitas? number six. very fast, of course. he named it toccata. yes, very, very fast.

  • @audreyhsux5727 there are fast passages; with lots of figures in some bars. But of course, it doesn't sound as the toccata I had in mind; more like a ballad. These musicological terms are not black and white, a scherzo can be dark and ominous and toccatas can be slow. Now I am lost.

  • "Scherzo also frequently refers to a fast-moving humorous composition"; This isn't humorous for the love of the fucking cats!

  • @nielssen9 note "frequently refers." not always.

  • @Failein :truestory:

  • wha-

    ho-

MY FACE IS MELTING FROM AMAZEMENT

  • i held my breath for 10 minutes - a world record

  • Wow what a try hard... (sarcasm)

  • Chopin composed this when he was in his early twenties. What have you done with your life?

  • @QGfk1 well, I have composed twelve songs waiting for a good singer to be shown live, plus five instrumentals. I have been arranging them with cubase

  • @QGfk1 I'm watching videos, just like you.

  • genius

  • He's good, but he's no Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga or Rebecca Black

  • 1:15 "yea guys, i got this"

  • First scherzo I've learnt :)

  • 07:57.. ahi ahi yundi!

  • @Zambeethoven oops^^

  • sorry forgot to put some stuff in

  • for me

  • too many stacatos!

  • gosh- as i pianist it would take me years to play this piece like that

  • Non è op. 20?

  • does anyone knows when and where was this played?

  • Way too fast

  • @Vesivian ah so i guess you are a professional piano player as well ? you give concerts for thousands of people, and you win a chopin competition when you where 20 ? no ? ...then i guess..HE is right :)

  • @Gsus665 i dont need to be that to judge.

  • @Vesivian i like this version but yes im a pianist but obvisouly not as known and i am still judging. so dont listen to wankers who tell you you cant judge just because you havent their varreer. i bet the dude is the fiest one to say justin bieber is shit but when you look a tit justin is rich and famous and the other guy isnt...so... hahaha.

  • @TheAleksMichel...I'm sure he doesn't make as much as Bieber, but I'm also sure he makes a very good living as a great concert Pianist!

  • @sweetcharlie63

    I bet he's happier.

  • who says that rock stars are the only one on acid.

  • they should retitle it "schizo"

  • And then they say that thrash metal has nothing to do with classical music...

  • @Stephen96D a little bit surprised.

  • I love the one wrong note at 8:02 :)

  • @Stephen96D what is the specific note?

  • @pieisexcellent It is actually a G natural he played instead of an A natural. :)

  • this is well done here. You cannot say it isn t good. Its a good interpretation not only from the virtuose point. He really has a good technique. His play is so clean. everything is precisely. But he is under pressure as competition winner. lets see how his career will continue.....

  • la cago en 7:58 ni modo ...todo lo demás perfecto

  • I haven't never see better Chopin interpretation!!

  • he's so excited with his playing that he can't control the speed :d too fast in the begining and from 9:27 till 9:32

  • too fast in the begining till 25

  • Are Chopin scherzos really not suppose to be funny?

  • Yundi li great chinese pianist. Moved hin performance

  • I wish I could reach an octave between my index finger and ring finger like he can. He has gigantic hands.

  • Yundi Li has claws. Also I want to see his hands play, not see the whole the piano or watch his annoying facial expressions

  • me gusta esta interpretacion...la siente realmente..CHOPIN es el ser que mas admiro en el mundo!!!,,,me produce escalofrio escuchar esta obra..

  • Easy

    Medium

    Hard

    Brutal

    Godlike

    Chuck Norris

    Michelangeli, Zimerman,Yuindi Li

    Chopin

  • This is amazing. Wonderfull interpretation!Chopin has everything in his music. The softness of the impressionism, and the aggression of the Romantic Russian composers! Wonderfull piece, wonderfull interpretation!

  • holy fucking shit

  • He's not human! No human can be that fast! XD

  • Not to seem like a perfectionist, but I believe that the opus number of the Scherzo is 20, and not 30 :)

  • @SuhmMusic It's true ")

  • @SuhmMusic it is twenty :D

  • @SuhmMusic Took someone 5 years to finally realize this. :P

  • Comment removed

  • does anyone else LOVE his facial expressions?

  • Also as a side note the word scherzo in Italian means joke. Scherzo usually were substituted in the third movement of a symphony. But Chopin wrote these as stand alone pieces. And they aren't funny really. Very dramatic actually.

  • Op 20 are among some of my favorite compositions from Chopin. You not only see the brilliant composition from Chopin the musician but the scherzi show us Chopin the man. His phenominal technique, the lightness of touch,in yundis hands especially, and a little glimpse behind the curtain of Chopin. Extremely well done!

  • I love this performance. and i was like CRAP when he missed the note at the eight minute mark! but everything else was perfect!:)

  • Simply the best!!!!!

  • this preformance broke my heart !!!

its beyond things like "impressing" "moving"

this is so great that its even scary.

  • wowow and wow , how much llightness, and very good interpretation. BRAVISSIMO!

  • is that not op 20 ?? :) not op 30 !!

  • @Gsus665 it's opus 30

  • @sweetcharlie63 No, it's opus 20

  • @sweetcharlie63 Opus 30 is a set of Mazurkas.

  • @712Stephen...since I am not an accomplished Pianist, this really doesn't apply to me. I was only going by what I saw for the title, and when you search the title posted here, it pops up with similar results. But I get it now.

  • @sweetcharlie63 It's all right. :P I was just letting you know.

  • @sweetcharlie63 It's opus 20 ...

  • @sweetcharlie63 definitely NOT opus 30, dude. try opus 20:)

  • @SilenceTheQuiet...I GET IT!!!! I was only going by the caption and when I searched it on YT, it came up op.30. So CHILL. I'm not a piano scholar.

  • @sweetcharlie63 ... sry jeez. i was just letting you know. dont get so upset:(

  • @SilenceTheQuiet...I only had a couple others tell me so I kinda get tired of it. And I'm not upset with your comment. Some comments are better left alone. The world is full of opinions which=assholes. Myself included.

  • @sweetcharlie63 well then:) hahaha

  • @SilenceTheQuiet...sorry if I came off a little gruff...hehehe...I'm not like that. And I apologize. Friends?

  • @sweetcharlie63 lol its all good:)

  • at 8:00 it was supposed to b f sharp but he played a wrong note...nevertheless...great interpretation! :D

  • @xFirebird925x yes but it doesn't change anything ._. great interpretation

  • @xFirebird925x He played a d sharp XD

  • I interpret this piece thus: anguish - dream of hope - again anguish (that all of a sudden breaks off the dream and leads to destruction). A bit pessimistic?

  • Yundi Lİ best pianist XXİ century

  • I would love to play Chopin the way Yundi Li does.... I fear, however, my fingers would become severy disfigured...

  • why would 79 idiots not like this? It is absolute perfection!!

  • Que bien toca!

  • This guy is much more modest than lang lang in my opinion.

Lang lang is very "animated" and exaggerates his playing too much

  • 2:31 - 2:44 i love those very strange voices in the broken chords its like nothing that has come before

  • you stupid cunt. get with the goddamn program. it's fucking opus 20 you cockgobbling cumstain. fuck your mother and fuck your life for not noticing the title of this video.

  • @BachFong11 Notice how the 2 button is right next to the 3 button. Also now take into account the fact that people regularly make typos whence using a keyboard.

We should be thanking the poster of the video for sharing this wonderful music with us instead of losing our temper over a little typo.

  • @BachFong11 Wow there man even if he had got it wrong and it wasn't just a typo, what justifies all that nonsense? Because Chopin would have been really hurt and depressed if he'd seen that wouldn't he and the fact that somebody really liked and appreciated his music would be irrelevant.

  • @BachFong11

    What are you crazy?

  • @BachFong11...is all that really necessary? If so, then you've got issues baby.

  • There is no "easy" Scherzo, this one is "easier" in the sense it repeats a lot, which makes it easier to get familiar with, but each Scherzo is difficult in it's own way.

  • And I thought that I can play piano pretty well...:)

  • Is there a wrong note @ 8:00 ?

or is it only me ?

    anyways...

ABSOLUTELY ADORE LI YUNDI HERE !

  • @The55555SSSSS Yep, there is. I think he played f1 instead of fis1.

  • 79 morons would rather listen to Justin Bieber.

  • Is it just me or are the audience a little bit shit? Keep coughing and luke warm applause at the end.

  • I'm totally amazed....

  • i am playing the scherzo for my music exam and this sounds nothing like it

  • @barry577 Once thought of doing that too... -_- after I heard this, I immediately picked another piece (which was still beastly though, but better than this for sure...)

  • The title fails. This is obviously Op. 20.

  • Veramente bravo!!!

... ma so che ci sarà qualcuno che saprà fare di meglio :)

  • All the scherzos are really hard, but i think no 2 is the hardest

  • @Choltik It's the only one I managed, i wanted to play the 3rd but GOSH !!!! Horrible !!!!

  • @flouz2 i didn't managed any them. i'm to young for it lol

  • @Choltik Not a chance! No.2 is the easiest!! Then follows No.1, No.3 and the hardest is No.4!

  • @Pr0t0type92 I think you're right, I saw the sheet of no 3 and no 4 and they seem really harder than no 2 . . . no 2 is that tipe of piece that looks harder, but is easier! It's just like bach, looks like it's easy, but it's hard :)

  • Opus 20...

  • I never found the scherzos very difficult. Untill I began to play them....

  • what is the harder scherzo?

  • @Choltik

unfortunately no. It is the easiest, definitely...

  • @LevieuxSisyphe Thank you, you're right

  • Is this the harder scerzo?

  • amazing!!!

  • 7:41

  • @MetalAge19 I knooowww jeez calm down. -.- Sorry for pointing it out, i was just wondering. Not saying he's a bad player. He's still one of my favorite pianists.

  • @drawingangel2 Ofcourse he is not a bad player, and i know you did not attend to offend him, just saying mistakes are allowed this is very hard to play, i tried to play it and from like 100 times, i reached ,,far enough" like 2-3 times, and i think by luck XD this piece requires BIG hands...

  • DAYUM CHOPIN! YOU SCARY!

  • Very good playing =)

  • yes. he plays FANTASTIC!!!

  • It's Op.20ですよ

  • Again, some people race others to show how quick they response to the end of the piece.

  • Lol. He played wrong note at 7:57! He didn't reach far enough. keke XD Unless...my sheet music is wrong..... gasp! that could be a possibilityyyy...

  • @drawingangel2 Dude, we are humas we make mistakes. And the word perfection does not exist, no matter how good can something be, it can be better and better..

  • @FlyingPigFetus Yeah, I think it is, the uploader misspelled probably...

  • @ImmortalSpecies Can I like this comment more than 100 times?

  • @SeitanoShuuki Can I possibly stop you? ;o

  • @ImmortalSpecies

After yundi li is Chopin :P

  • @Stebanick what ever....he's playing CHOPIN, not the other way around LOL

  • @Pflanzungmusik this made me laugh...good one, man ...haha

  • @Pflanzungmusik FACT: CHUCK NORRIS failed his first black belt testing.

  • @Pflanzungmusik

    chopin

    liszt

    alkan

    godowsky

  • @guillatra I hate how everyone throws around Godowsky's name like he's god :P No offense to the man, absolutely adore his music and transcriptions, but I have to give the top spot for these things to Liszt, simply because of the time period he was in, if not because of the sheer magnitude and scope of his compositions

  • @roflattheworld I don't know anyone talking about godowsky like a god. His pieces are hard and just this is importent in this context.

But now I think, Alkan may be harder.

  • @guillatra I think that Alkan is harder, yes. :) It's all fantastic stuff, whatever the case :)

  • @Pflanzungmusik chopin doesn't have the hardest music

  • @ImmortalSpecies FACT: Chuck Norris failed his first black belt testing.

  • Excelente tecnica y capacidad, aunque con algunas incoherencias en interpretacion, aun asi Yundi Li es un maestro

  • yundi li can kick chuck norris's ass any day and you all know it.

  • extraordinay technic and pianist for sure but personally I do not like his interpretation

this is just a perfect demonstration of his great talent for playing piano but not Chopin sorry to say

  • magnifica fantastica !

  • LOL HIS FACE XD

  • This is one of videos you will like 100 times just to make sure that there is no bug :)

  • He makes Lang Lang seem....somewhat inferior.

  • Yundi freaken made the piano seem alive. Straigh Boss

  • these Chopin scherzos and ballades grow on you. i remember hearing the Zimerman recordings just a few yrs ago and skipping through everything within 30 seconds can you believe that i skipped through Zimerman! im glad i have matured musically and can appreciate these works and they become more apart of my life everyday
