  • Wow, I'm replying to a comment posted 4 months ago. Anyways, I'm willing to help you learn. You're using DBC, right? Maybe by this point you know what you're doing, but I'm always willing to help.

regardless ur a good programmer and i respect that so hit me back and please tell me where i can find a tutorial because i am new to darkbasic

  • Try the forum

  • Hey I have a question about DBC or DBP. If I am designing a character on paper how would I transfer the art to the program and make that character?

  • Scan the sketch in or take a picture of it with a digital camera. Download Blender, which is a widely used 3D modeling program, and design a simple frame in the shape of your character, then extrude the geometry and edit all of the little details. (It takes about a month to learn) Next you're going to want to UV map your model using your sketch as a texture. When you're all done, export the model to either DirectX or 3DS format, and you can load it into DarkBASIC with the load object command.

  • h8s2 is right.

You can't just bring the sketch to life using DBC/DBP.You will have to model it on a 3D modelling program(I prefer 3DS Max).

  • Maybe you should try sparky's collision dll

  • Good for 2 days man, wish I was as good as you still trying to work out code to get my player in and out of vehicles using objects,

  • Ohhh.. I SO need to learn how to do this. I've had DB classic for ages but I've only put as much effort in so far to make a little text based nim game lol

  • Maybe you should go through the help files and spend some time in the codebase/forum.You can learn a lot from there.

  • nice, in 2 days!

  • lol the enemy looks like the terminator nice job for two days

  • oh that's only two days! good, lol - i was about to insult it.

    hehe, nice job

  • hey dude i loved the video that was so cool also i cant beleive u made this in two days but can u help me out i have a choice to get darkbasic (not the pro one) or reality factor 2 plz can u reply

  • I prefer Darkbasic classic. But i think you should use a trial version before you buy one.

  • thanks man but can ya answer one more question in darkbasic classic can u make a monster or human and get to see that whole body not just the gun way that u did

  • yes you can do that..it's called a third person shooter game:)

anyway, you can check out 'Silver silence'.Thats a fine third person shooter game.

    Or,try thegamecreators website.

  • This is pretty good work for 2 days!

  • Thanks...Hope to develop the quality

  • Yea find some skyboxes or something, and then add some gun movement, there's an example in Codebase I believe.

  • I did used sky spheres and you can see them in my other videos.

I'll check out the code base for gun movements.
