Steroids can cause bloating which is a result of using highly androgenic products (testosterones, Anadrol) right up to competition. This is then attempted to be corrected with diuretics, which can exacerbate the problem, if you don't know what you are doing.

So what sometimes what happens is "loop" diuretics as they are called will cause a rebound fluid retention often starting in the abdominal cavity.
