It should be noted that these people are in a country that barely maintains a stable economy, let alone a stable goverment, for more than 10 years at a time, on and off for the last few centuries. Of coarse they're making $11 an hour, their economy is still practically third world, and shouldn't be compared to capitalist super powers. Unless a person is very well educated with an upper class job, health coverage, unions and other things mentioned are unheard of.

Ok check it, the Israelis give them jobs. Be it, not great jobs, but they do get paid. If my people were at war with someone, they wouldnt get jobs. I wouldnt allow them schools either, why would you want to educate a would-be terrorist or anyone who would wish harm upon your entire ppl? There are almost 2.5 million arabs lving in the West Bank and less than 300,000 jewish Israeli settlers. How do you conclude from that that the entire area 'belong' to the Israelis then? Let me guess - god gave it to them, right?

Also, the land on which they are growing those figs in the Jordan Valley was largely expropriated by Israeli agribusiness in the first place. ALL exports from the area are controlled by the Israelis also. They have complete contol over the livelyhoods of local people
