That is an unusual experience for a human (unless you're a female pron star ;p), so I can understand him reacting like this. He must have felt a bit embarrassed, disoriented and angry. It's a typical response to being 'attacked'.

The prank was for the comedy show balls of steel. The person who sprayed him in the face was the producer as a joke but it all kicked off. My opinion is its just a joke so why make a big fuss of it? its only water!

That interviewer WAS a jerk. Tom was actually super cool about that. Hell, anything could have been in that thing, It was just water, but there are psychos out there who would do something like spray piss, disease, or even Acid on someone. and at that very Moment, Tom had no Idea what he was sprayed with. If it were me, I'd have swung on the guy.
I have a lot of respect for Tom handling it as cool as he did while still making sure they guy knew what a stupid thing it was to do.

It's not about making assumptions, it's just that this "interviewer" did something incredibly stupid. There are a lot of psychos out there. Sadly, That's just how it is. (like the guy who sent the acid bomb to Bjork or the guy who disfigured Katie Piper by throwing acid in her face. ) In the end, Tom handled it in a really calm and respectful manner. I would have hardly been able to compose myself as he did. I respect that.

Acid was a worse case scenario. There are a thousand things it could have been that wouldn't have killed or hurt him on the spot.
Lets say someone walked up to you and squirted you in the face with some unknown liquid. Maybe it was water...and they pissed in it. You have no idea at all. Would YOU be upset? Hell yes you would.
Tom was taking the time to give him an interview, being nice to him, and he does some shit like that? Not acceptable and not funny. I'd have hit him.

Yes it was childish, it was on a prank show, it was supposed to be.
But that is no reason to bloody sue someone! Or even get upset like he did. The most I would do is either laugh, or say "very funny" or maybe "grow up", and that would be the end of it.

Some things are funnier than others. There's a time and place. I LOVE comedy, but IMO, this wasn't a funny prank.
In the end, I think Tom handled it on the spot a lot better than a vast majority of people would and I applaud him for it. (Suing may be overboard, But looks like he got the last laugh:)
Anyway, I know I wouldn't have kept my cool like that. and honestly, I doubt anyone who says they could without experiencing it themselves. Kudos to you if you could. But I doubt it.

It was a very funny prank - soaking someone in water is the original classic.
If someone injured me I wouldn't find it funny, but getting me wet doesn't hurt me, injure me, cost me money, so why get upset about it?

I think it's different for everyone. The way I see it is that Tom was being cool to the guy and it's a red carpet event. it wasn't meant to just be funny but to embarrass him. So lets just say everyone was being childish. LOL
My main thing would be that you never know what some psycho put in there. there is a lot that would be undetectable and could do great harm. add to that the fact that there are nut jobs who would want to harm a celeb, and thats why I would have gone off on him.
