It's genius to run your workers away when you're in a losing situation like this. If he chases you down, your main building is safe. If you run and split up your workers, he'll be confused and continue chasing you, because he is afraid you'll rebuild (somehow). The opponent has no idea how much money you have, and can assume you have a lot.

Gold league is around the best cheesers can get, but man do they suck! I once lost nearly all my probes to a 6pool. I ended up winning the game because 1. My opponent stayed on 1 fricking base the whole game, despite the fact I lost 10 minutes rebuilding my probe count. 2. He went zergling/roach versus immortal zealot sentry stalker. Only when he saw I had finally built a Colossus did he tech switch... into mass hydras.

@wladelis think about it, a bag full of hammers is just a big, clunky, heavy useless thing to have. a single hammer can do something, a pile can't. the zerg had a good opportunity to rush and kill the protoss probes. when you do a gatherer rush like this, like the commentators said, you have completely abandoned your macro game for your micro, which means you have to be spot on with what your doing with each unit. he was basically just attacking the probes, when he could have taken the base

Ok the cheese loses, but honestly the guy who won was pretty bad too.  He spent half the game running around pointlessly. When you get cannon rushed, first priority is kill the probe. If you do that, the whole thing falls apart quickly.

@NHLFever1 He "ran around pointlessly" because he was outnumbered, PLUS it made the zerg player chase him with all but two drones. It made the zerg player essentially ignore the Nexus allowing the protoss player to keep making probes and eventually outnumber the drones. I don't really see how that's considered "pretty bad".
