  • Thanks for update...would love to see how this whole thing got started.

  • Uhhh... I guess you're not from the area or ill-educated in regards to the demographics of that area. Bathurst and Rutherford is one of the fastest growing jewish areas in Ontario, if not Canada. Not only is there a HUGE Jewish school, few new synagogue's but the population and demographics of that newly occupied land is vastly jewish. And yes, There are a lot of jews who shop at Enzo's -- As of right now, the only other "major" grocery stores in the area are Sobey's and Longo's

  • I don't understand David. You said a customer may have put it up to spread anti-semitic messages. Maybe he is just against Israel's policies? How does that make him a jew hater? A lot of orthodox Jews boycott Israel...does that make them anti-Semitic?

  • Who cares if they don't sell one product, go where they sell it!!

  • recording this report on Shabbat of Pesach and complaining there's no kosher food there, what a concept?!

  • @pamar27

    Divisive

  • Nice of you to do that David however, I know from a very reliable source that they refuse to sell anything Jewish!

  • @justgottasay ...as a matter of fact, if you yourself took the time to look at ALL the products that Enzo's has to offer, you would see there is in fact kosher products. Just because they are not in a specific isle, doesn't mean they are not there!!!

  • Yeah your smart I work there and id know if we refused we dont have any because there isnt a high amount of the Jewish community living in that area go down to Bathurst and theres tons of stores that sell kosher stuff

  • I was there Friday and saw nothing.

  • David

You made an error in judgement...a serious one. Without thinking you sent out erroneous information and assisted in maligning the good name of a hardworking businessman. While this was a first step, I note that you did not apologize. It is the least you can do.

Martha, I sent out information without verifying the story, that is true. That was not good judgement on my part and I've acknowledged that. On the other hand, I believe that the sign was on the store for some period of time, even though it seems it was probably put there by a customer who was looking to spread anti-Semitic messages, therefore, I don't think I was completely out of line.

  • Part 2

I corrected my earlier email, showed that I was happy to patronize the store and gave free advertising to Enzo's. To show some measure of interest in the Jewish Community, maybe next Passover Enzo will take the trouble to bring in some Matzah and a few other Passover products and I'll do another report.

  • @Mbrebaf OK MBrebaf, I have thought about your email and if it's not clear enough, yes I do regret sending out the email without digging into the matter further 1st. I think this video, plus 2 emails to the group I sent this to, to square away the facts, have set things straight. I doubt any harm will come to Enzo's business because I believe anyone who heard about it now has the facts. Do you think I should call Enzo and apologize personally?
