  • great video. like i commented on darryl's video, i think we should put the golden rule first. i dont think we should choose one over the other. the silver rule might have its place, but we should aim for the golden rule.

i wouldnt want to live in a world where everyone lives by the silver rule. i think the golden rule should be our north star. but it should be applied with understanding.

  • Good video. Sometimes bad deeds are just a cry for attention. And people often confuse weakness with kindness.

I wish everyone followed the Golden rule.

  • Good arguments on both sides. For me, I tend to agree with you in that the golden rule makes no suggestion that one should be submissive. On the contrary, forgiveness by definition involves argument, discussion, time to reflect, etc. Though forgiveness can arise naturally, even when the silver rule is applied, using the golden rule on someone who offends you is a gift to them, an opportunity you give for their growth. Seems more effective than silver revenge, even if well intentioned...

  • Hi, Pierre. Thanks for making this. I hear what you're saying, but I still believe there's a time when conflict becomes necessary. Some people will not listen to reason, no matter how hard you try. In fact, sometimes conflict teaches your adversary a lesson and he learns to respect. I apply gold & silver as seems appropriate for a desired outcome.
