Alumni talking....how I miss marching band! Its totally different being on the field with the L.D. Bell band than actually watching it from the audience. Both are totally awesome feelings but truthfully I loved the marching.

Tuba player from Mansfield here, I really loved your show, this was my first year in marching band and you guys and James Bowie really impressed me... Is the opening set the circles of hell? If so, cool, that was the opening set to our show, too. :)

Dear Ladonnavideo,

I wish you would change the descriptions for two reasons. One the show speaks for itself and does not need to be talked up. Two, no judges comments, youtube comments matter at all what matters is that there was a great musical experience for the students and the audience and no score could matter more than that.

Well, it's their choice to explain the show. Ladonnavideo recorded and uploaded this and just gave a description of the show. It's completely up to her to write a description. It's also up to her to give the results-- there's no reason not to.

@clarinetbeast01 - Yes, some people will copy and post the video, but if they are caught they will probably have their account closed. I'm sure Mr. Video spends lots of money on cameras and operators to get the best shots of each show, and they have to sell those videos (online or on DVD) in order to make the effort profitable and worthwhile.

Actually, Mr. Video does NOT get the best shots of each show whatsoever. Maybe they video tape it, but they focus on the wrong thing. Mr. Video doesn't do a good job whatsoever and often messes up the audio. They never seem to know the best things to focus on in a show.

@ladonnavideo Yep..At about $80,000-$90,000 per BOA Grand Nats for bands your size to make trip understand...Hopefully this darn economy will pick up and HS bands like yours can get back to every year coming to GN. .But still, you guys were greatly missed and this would have been AWESOME to see this show at BOA Grand Nats.

Actually, it costs $2000 for just the band to go, but everyone has to pay fees. The fees include things like the plain ride, hotel, food, etc.

The reason they didn't go was because A) they're only supposed to go every other year anyway, B) a lot of people hadn't paid their fees from last year, and C) they have slight financial problems this year.

@mendozazer - well, I don't know the rules about that, but BOA isn't UIL, so I doubt the state pays to compete with BOA.

the show is basically about the phoenix all things that are dark and evil about it. the prominent theme in the show is life cycle of this bird. It live and lives, but when it dies it burst into chaotic flames and from it's ashes arises a calm, peaceful, innoscent baby bird. btw i probably spelled inniscent wrong.
