hey man, enlil didn't cause the flood. Enki predicted it as a circumstance of celestial cycle that was unfortunate for earth. This may all be very true. I have heard that all of the gods got their start with Anu, Enki, and Enlil.

As I mentioned in my previous 5 posts to CalenCarevic, I've studied the Hebrew/Canaanite connection. Spent a couple yrs on that alone & haven't gone any further. Didn't need to in demonstrating how Judaism was 1st monotheistic, then covertly changed to be monotheistic.

As we know, Yahweh adopted the Hebrews to be his lot.

What's interesting is that when they started to rewrite parts of the OT, namely the Pentateuch, their transition involved replacing El with Yahweh. A key piece of evidence was in giving Asherah (El's consort) to YHWH.

When the D. S. Scrolls were found, they found a line saying "Yahweh and his Asherah."

The Hebrews combined Yahweh and El's names together, then eventually phased out all other gods except of course, Yahweh.

I'm just finishing my 2nd yr of research on the origin of (polytheistic) Judaism. The fact is, from now deciphering the Ugaritic Texts, we know that the Hebrews were actually Canaanites. When they migrated out of Canaan, they adopted the Canaanite Pantheon with them & they worshiped these many gods during the early period of Judaism, up t about the 7th century when they decided to reconstruct Judaism to be monotheistic.

Last time I checked, they do, since every Bible passage that says "The LORD" is referring to Yahweh. "The LORD" is a translator's representation of the word "YHWH."

There is actually a verse in Psalm 95:3 that says "El is YHWH." El Shaddai is also the name of a pagan diety.
