@algol291 New Super Mario Bros is awesome :). No, I wasn't as good in Super Metroid as I was in Metroid. Unfortunately after doing this run I got really tired of playing anything Metroid because I overplayed it and thats putting it lightly. Same thing happened with me and Ninja Gaiden but I still have the runs from the original trilogy I did. I no longer play any of the above.
I want to play Metroid so bad now. I need $150 bucks to buy a Wii (with New Super Mario Bros. awesome game despite annoying control pad tilting) Never should have sold it a year ago.
@Stavenborn Around 24-25 minutes with damage for Metroid. I never really cared about going for "the best" world record time possible. For most of my gameplay videos, my interest is mainly for survival play; no deaths and sometimes even no damage. I sometimes do speedruns in different games but I usually adopt a speedy play style because it increases the odds of success in my runs -the more you take your time the more likely to get hit philosophy-. This helped out greatly in metroid.
@taobmc I won't be doing another no damage of Metroid again :). This was incredibly difficult to do and even when I was at my best in this game, it took me about an entire week of my spare time just to get lucky enough to complete the game without getting touched. A lot of practice attempts. @diamondf0x3022 Yes, that jump you saw is done by rolling and then up + jump. Glad you enjoyed!
no doubt, looks like at 34:40 you were a pixel or two away from disaster, and that last boss fight must have been fn nail biting

You might like Metroid 2: The Return of Samus, for GameBoy. You have to kill 30 metroids (I think) as they progressively evolve.
What's your favorite game all-time and for NES?

Are you just as good at Super Metroid?
