  • maybe i'm not a dancer at all

I like to dance but my friend said to me that i have no passion at dancing and he say that i only dance becuz it's mainsteam :))

i am quite sad nơ,i'm thinking about stop dancing :D

  • I'd love to say I'm a dancer. Probably don't have the confidence to say that I am one, but I've always been interested in all artistic things (even the ones I don't have the confidence to try...*cough*acting*cough*). I took ballet and tap when I was really little but I remember so little of it. I find dancing fun and absentmindedly do a bit of popping and locking when listening to music, but the only sort I can "confidently" do is 'para para' thanks to a friend who got me interested.

  • I am. :) Originally I grew up in Indiana, and always had big dreams to move out of state and become a dancer. Currently I live in California, and am working on building a good dance reputation for myself. :) In the past I've received a Dance Certificate, appeared in a music video, and danced as a go go dancer for several EDM events. I dance because it's what I'm passionate about. Being able to communicate with people through movement and music is a very beautiful thing. It makes me Happy. :)

  • NICE BROTHEE! YOU INSPIRED A LOT OF KIDS WHO LOVE TO DANCE AND TO BE A DANCER!

  • I want to be a dancer!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I'm dancing I feel like I'm totally free! Without problems, without responsibilities, just dancing!!!!! I play the piano but I haven't thought how to use that. I think after this video I feel more comfortable with me, I know I have talent but definitely I need more and more practice! And that's what I gonna do. THANK YOU

  • I have a question to ask: I want to become a better dance, I really do, but sadly I'm doing it just for attention, like getting applauds and having people cheer for me and such. A small portion of me want to do it for myself and become more confident, but I mainly want to gain approval. Is there a way I can stop this? It's rather vain of me and it's not pleasant at all.

  • I love dancing, whenever I hear music I just want to get up and dance, I start moving my feet even if I`m sitting down, and I always dreamed to be a dancer. The thing is, I`m not one, i don't know how to dance, but I wish I did. I don't want to let my life slip away without learning how to dance. Thank you for making this video, you made me realize that If I don't try now, I will regret it later when I'm old, when I won't be able to do anything about it anymore.

  • @MsAlexa184 Best addiction ever

  • @MsAlexa184 You got this! Dancing is better than MATH!

  • Hi Shawn , Im Arnaud , I also started to impress people and become more popular , but since I love it now I try to improve for myself and because its my passion , my life and my way to express.

  • @TBK1979 Right on

  • Hey Shawn, Im Justin.

One day, Dec 6 2011, I saw a Zumba video on Youtube. I figured that this was a great stepping stone so I joined the nearest class at a YMCA facility. After my first dance session, the instructor proposed that I become a instructor. I was STOKED!

I am now training to be an instructor. I also attend hip-hop classes offered at YMCA too so I am probably gonna teach my class with a little hint of hip-hop. Im doing what I love, & it was always my passion throughout high school!

  • @JKHplur Feel free to use some things you learned in my videos. I wish you luck! Your courage is respected. It's a scary step but exciting one.

  • hey sean use be the same way u were i peformed in talent shows alot people thought i was good but i really didn't captivate the foundations of my style which is animation and waving. i really want to go far with because it isn't just a dance its a lifestyle. when you have people watching you dance and ther jaw drop or they point to you it makes you have this weird feeling as if your not real lol i guess we have all different tpes of emotions.

  • @gt122292 Your biggest motivator is yourself so keep strong and you will achieve your goals. Have an open mind and be a student for life! That's my advice.

  • inspirational words shawn!

  • it is just a hobby for me ... I do not know how I got on the dance probably because my parents are dancers ... but I'm only half the fun I do not know anyone who is so old like me and who is dancing like me ...

  • @INiiTRoXx how old?

  • BTW: song title

    ??

  • @kiikeemax3 musiqsoulchild-beautiful

  • wow real enlightening man.

  • not a dancer, its just my hobby. I started to take dance lessons with my friend after looking at Jabbawockeez on youtub. The first lesson was a little scary for me, everyone was so much better(and thinner)than me. But I learnt to just pay attention to myself. I dance for a year now & me &my friend got better very fast. We're still not good, but not bad! Every week I look forth to the next dance lesson and I really don't regret it. My talent is drawing, but I even like dancing more than drawing.

  • @Dice398 Don't compare yourself to others compare yourself to the "YOU" the day before. You're improving that's all that matters.

  • @Muzicsoulrhythm (Funny how you replied that on my birthday.)

    But thanks! You're totally right.

  • @Muzicsoulrhythm

sorry i dont want to break feelings but i actually got inspired by a dancer you might know Nonstop (marquese scott) dont get me wrong i honestly love you guys both at what you do but you an awesome teacher . after watchin a few of your videos i didnt even relize it but i kinda startin poppin and from their im doin it everyday untill i fall asleep and man im loving it, the way your body syncs in to the music is a feeling i cant describe

  • I am. I first started dancing just to impress my peers and get to the top of the popularity list. However I then got more devoted and found the true meaning of dancing, expression. I remember going to the group of dancers and they found out that I just did it for impressing others and they were right. But then instead of shunning me, they showed me the light. Now when the dj dropped that beat, I have no control of my body. Music was controlling me. Lesson learned, dance to express, not impress.

  • @gr3ymon24 It's all love man everyone has their different reasons for starting out but now we have all our own personal reason for STILL dancing.

  • @gr3ymon24

Well, you got to think about it. It's not a bad thing about impressing, because it can give you a good character in your dancing but not an arrogant character. I love to dance but I also like to have a little fun and feel confident to impress others to know that I can dance well enough to be on the spotlight. :)

  • am i a dancer ? yes i am i dance to feel and i dance to show how i feel inside and jsut to show im not crap and exspecially with popping i jsut go for it and im me when i dance i mean im confident becasue i also act but dance, without it hmmmmm im not complete

  • ive always loved to dance ever since i was little..most of my dancing comes from tha streets cuz my mother never took me to dance school..sometimes i have those days where i feel like im making a fool of myself or im not good enough, so i put myself down..im really hoping i could get into a dance school pretty soon.watching this video really helped alot thanks..

  • Is 18 too late to start breakdancing....I've wanted to learn for years now but I'd always start and end up failing thinking I wasn't meant to learn it. 6 years on I still go about life with that mindset...so tell me, is it too late?

  • @sanosukeX2 NO. It's never too late to dance! (:

Start right now! If you don't do anything with it, you'll never know.

It doesn't matter how old you are.

  • I ALWAYS loved dancing for as long as I can remember. From a very young age I was copying things from TV, making up my own routines and performing them to my family..

Although I was an extremely shy kid and would never dance outside of my home or join a dance class. I got more confident as I got older and joined my first dance class at 16..

I am now 22, I'm a choreographer with my own Dance school, I teach & inspire kids everyday...

So I guess what I'm trying to say is "IT'S NEVER TOO LATE" :)

  • I love dancing but what I am afraid of is looking stupid infront of other people. My friends told me that I am always "off the beat" when I dance. But heck yea I still love dancing, for me its a way to release happiness. I am still trying to improve myself everyday in dancing and I really hope to become a real dancer in the future. :) LEGGO

  • actually i started getting into dancing when i saw abdc and they were doing the jerk.i thought it was the coolest dance ever,so i went and learned how to do it! by the end of 6 months i ended up being the best around!i went to a dance some time after that and saw there was a bboying circle going on. just then "your a jerk" came on, so i threw caution to the wind, jumped in there, and had the time of my life! after that i started picking up on the bboying that others did, and the rest is history!

  • As a kid i grew up with sorta a knack for dancing, but never really knew it. This year i was flipping through channels and watched ABDC and fell in love with the show. . . (go I aM mE). .. so i wanted to be like those dancers and just be able to dance in general. 5 months ago i looked like i was having a spasm when i danced. But now i am getting better and i learned that to be a good dancer you have to do your own thing and then you can do just about any dancing. So yeah there's my story.

  • gave me insperation , im exactly like that , i think i have abit of rythem , i just dont think i can tbh, i wanna dance , and i wanna try hard im just well, ... not sure :/

  • i just started dancing a couple weeks ago .. and i kinda love it think its really amazing and good way to exprees yourself... i dont think im very good .. i can only do a windmil and just started to learn shuffling... but this video has made me want to learn even MORE.... so thanks :)

  • This video made you nicer to me

  • Well everything kind of fell into piece for me to start dancing. 1st it started for my love of music. In 6th grade I really liked this girl and saw on the side of her binder saying "I love music". So I started really listening to music. 2nd is my discovery of dancing. In 7th grade "jerking" was in & it looked cool so I started doing it. Starting to jerk really helped me love dancing and pick up a rhythm. 3rd was my passion/love for dancing. 9th grade, I started to explore and learn everyday<3 :)

  • This video describes exactly how i feel. I've always wanted to learn how to dance for a long time now and i kinda started just last year. So, I started off dancing covers of k-pop songs. I just love their style of dance. When i listen to all kinds of beats in different genres of music, i always make up little choreos in my head but when i try, it doesn't come out right. :p My mom always said i had rhythm. (x aha. Well, i won't give up on dancing! I'm gonna try and keep practicing! Subscribed. (:

  • I alwayslistened and learned ALL the lyrcs to everysong ive ever heard, and i remeber specifically i sang Buy U a Drink by T-Pain andwith my hands i was making weirdgestures going with the song, my friends said to me"Bro that was cool! Didu practice that?"No i didnt. Soon later at birthday parties songs blasted throughthe spekers that i knw wordforword and luckily i made my own moves to match! then when i watched your videos,U gave me such awesome moves to go with my Dancing so Thank you Shawn!

  • I tried many things to find my talent like singing, drawing and more! Then one day, i saw the Jabbawockeez, i was inspired to dance. After that day, i started to dance to many style like breaking, locking asnd more but i just can't do it . Then i saw the Poreotics and i was inspired once more but to popping. I learned everything i know on youtube, how to do popping, some of them was from your videos! thanks alot for the tutorials, any advice for me, please?

btw: check out my dance videos :D

  • I'm overweight but I'm in love with dancing I love figuring out or learning the basics for a certain dance. Like I know how to tut. I learned the basics for the robot and popping. And I want to learn how to bboy. But I feel discouraged because I'm over weight. Any advice??

  • @B2utientheb2st Go for it! <3 I felt the same way like you when I started. I'm over weight and I'm a girl so I always thought those were problems and I couldn't bgirl but after a month, I learned headspins, spiders, toprocking, some footwork, and a lot of basic stuff. :-) Dance has no limitations so I'd say go for it and have fun and I wish you luck! :-)

  • @MegaBreezyTV Thank you. im more determined now after reading your reply. i wish you luck for all the dancing that is to come for you ^^

  • subscribed :) thanks for this video... I was feeling really discouraged cause I bombed in my dance classes this week, but you made me feel better. you're right, everyone has to work, even if you're born w/ mad talent & rhythm. feeling sad & discouraged won't get me anywhere, just gotta keep trying! tmrw's a new day :)

  • Yes , im a dancer

  • 2:05 HAHAHHA xD

  • yup!! its official...i fell in love!! lol im becoming a dancer now :) lmao jk

  • o.o Funny story, it's just like mine. I started C-walking in 6th grade, wanting to dance with a girl. When I finally got that girl to dance with me, I was cwalking when she was grinding. .. Ahaha, well yeah I stopped c-walking but I do it from time to time. Now it's all bboying (;

  • I have always been into dancing, but this video has inspired me to actually start. Thanks Muzicsoulrhythm!

  • i dance to express my feelings and show you where i come from, thank you for your words Muzicsoulrhythm :D

  • My older sister is 15 and she really likes dancing, but she always tells me that she wishes she could dance because she says she feels dumb dancing. I keep tellin her that If she likes dancing she should just keep trying at it, instead of wishing. This video helped her a bit. THANKS!

  • Im 13, I dance cuz the movie step up inspire me. I do C walk and some freestyle :) I love the feeling of getting watch by people when i dance :) ( even though is kinda akward if im bad ) but i like dancing. Greetz from southern asia . Im viet

  • WoW!....I can't help realizing how many dedicated dancers are out there!!

  • Hey man, Im really loving your tutorials :) They help heaps. Im in year 8 and I started dancing about 4 months ago, so im a real beginner. Anyway. I practiced and practice, i dance everywhere. I dance like 5 hours a day, i dance instead of walk :P My friends are saying that im really good, so this encouragement is pushing me forward. When I watched this vid of yours I was so encouraged by what you said. Thanks heaps :)

  • i started dancing when i was in grade 6, for a Christmas party.. i really didn;t want to but i liked it. we performed twice and since then, i started dancing.. in now a junior and still dancing.. :)

  • what about BFABB? :3

  • Ive always loved watching people dance on tv,on stage,at the park in school, everywhere. But back in 8th i came across ur videos and you inspired me bro.I thank you for that man.

  • btw thanks again shawn. i finally get a chance to tell my story. =') seriously, tears rollin down when i type my story. =)

  • 15, i discoverd poppin. my love for dancing started from it. =) learning popping, doing liquids, doing stops, doing robots. then i discovered shuffle when i was 18 yrs old. xP been doin dat till i got an internal spinal injury (during a comp. i fell down HARD) .. it was 1yr1/2 ago. now i got back to my dance, gettin my pops, my isos, dimestops, back again. i never stop to fall in love with dancin, to dance to a song n can tell the story within it, thats my passion n soul =)

  • im 23 now, coming back harder, hopefully better, faster, stronger. =) every song that i listen i randomly move to it, even if its a groove, can't stop my own body. xP got laughed at often n ppl saying "you cant do it, ur body's to BIGG SIZED. ' well, i wanna prove them wrg n prove to the world, that i love n will always DANCE! =)

  • Well I've been dancing for about 3 years now... I started when I was 11... when I dance just to get the popularity but.. as continue to dance I realized that dancing is all about expressing emotions.. But all I did was dance for popularity then I started to quit because I felt sad for myslef but, although I quit dancing, I still had my habit of tutting and gliding (I'm a turfer and a popper also a bboy), so when I was 13 I went back to dancing as a new dancer that dances for fun- LanceyB0i of

  • thanks shawn to inspire people :) i was always watching your videos and tutorials but i never actually asked myself if i am a dancer... i always wanted to dance but i never did...

but now i asked myself and i want to be a dancer! :D

im learning your tutorials now and i really like it

thank you for your awesome videos

  • Damn 303 comments? Each one of them is a different story! Loving it. If you have a dancer friend and send them this video and tell them to tell story. Thanks everyone.

Like this so its at the TTTTOOOPPPP!!

  • @Muzicsoulrhythm i really related to this you said everything i was thinking but i cant start dancing by my self i will need help along the line dancing is hard but you open my mind with this video ive been wanting to dance for a while now

  • @Muzicsoulrhythm propz for starting such a Vlog, bro. Your story resemble mine so much :D. I also started with cwalking then hiphop and bboying...etc. stopped for awhile due to school exams & relationship issues, but as soon as I started dancing again I fet so free and good :).

Btw, a Vlog for people who have to struggle with the money issue in order to be able to dance would be cool :).

  • @John2dak Glad your back! Thanks for watching. This video means a lot to me because of the response it is receiving. I love reading stories from others.

  • this all true..i started out the same way wnating to llearn how to dance had no rythem no anything..back in highschool i lerned how 2 cwalk as well then moved on 2 bigger and better things

  • @itzme1784 Everyone starts their own way. It just makes a better story later. I like to hear the common stories and also the random stories. Keep postin!

  • Well I'm dancing sinde I am four years.. but I really started to dance with passion December 2011

I had to stay at bed because I was sick and I was so weak I couldn't move any part of my body. and then I realized that I actually miss dancing a lot. I started to watch dance movies and dance videos on youtube.. and so I recognized Poreotics. It's strange but since I saw this 6 little asian boys I wanted to level up my dance skills. My passion and love for dancing started to grow and never stopped

  • TRUE im in the ninth right now nd just started dancing

  • I'm 14 years old, and i breakdance ! (: heh. Mostly ALL of my friends BREAKDANCE !! Me and my friend are like tight, since we knew each other for so long, we made a crew this year, and were trying to get our name out there by joining a lot of midwest jams ! hah. Apparently i'm the stylehead and his the powerhead. We practice/session together a lot, but were still young thats the best part. (: Still learning about what bboying/hip-hop is. Since thats what bboying is right? HIP-HOP 5 Elements?

  • Ok so I'm 26 and I LOVE dancing. I've never taken dance classes, but everything I know is from watching movies that involve dance. I want to take dance classes for fun. Do you think I might be too old to take hip hop classes considering I'm a beginner? lol

  • holy crap, my story is almost the exact same as yours, one time in grade nine at a party a girl started grinding on me and i didn't know what to do. So i took up cwalking since it was easy! then i added some toprock into my walk, got into bboy. I found this channel about two years ago and tried a lot of the tutorials. Here I am two years later trying to make popping vids. I usually don't make comments on videos but this was special since it helped me become the dancer i am today. Thanks Shawn!

  • I was in 6th grade. i saw this video on c walking and thought it was really cool and i wanted to learn. so i did, and after that, i was known as the kid who c walks at school. later that year, out of nowhere some dance battles started. i was in them, and all i did was c walk. i didn't get a lot of hype. then one day, one of my friends taught me the basics of bboying. i learned pretty well, and dancing became my passion. now, im trying all theses other dances and i love it.

  • i started bboying/ random tricking when i was 10 it all started when i discovered i as double jointed i geared myself to try to learn flips then i also came across parkour in the process but i started doing that when i was 11/12 and i also staterd streetdance aswell over the years ive learnt many styles locking cwalking which i learnt last yr popping kruming etc im selftaught/taught most of the stuff i learnt of internet when i firtst started out i learnt 98% of everything i learned

  • but ive been singing like all myl ife so it helped i guess and i just started acoustic guitar a few months ago and i guess it helped

  • u were riite wen i started dancing ( my first dance styke was bboying) i had self doult and unbelief but i stuck at it coz i have a passion for it and look where i am now doe im still improving everyday

  • This is such an inspirational video Shawn

I had the same experience as you 3 years ago, cwalking with a girl was really a turn off for them lol xD

  • That's exactly how I'm starting out! xD

I dance because I can't sing too. lol

Thanks for all your tutorials and videos!

Got nothing but respect for you. ^^

  • Thanks for the videos! They are very helpful and inspirational, and I hope that I'll be able to inspire others in a positive way like you do one day.

  • I first started bboying at age 18 or 19. I was inspired by bboy junior and decided that I wanted to try it out. A few months after practicing I got into parkour and because I wanted to get really good at it I quit bboying. Three years later I am now 21 and after watching the LXD I want to not only get back into bboying but into popping and tap dance as well. I am now able and willing to make time for parkour, dancing, martial arts, and whatever I want to learn and do in life.

  • This, gave me that little spark of inspiration. =]

  • I've been dancing ever since I was about 7. I always had that rythym, but it was moreso for fun than anything else. I was always the one who found myself in a dance circle at parties, or school dances. I've recently decided to take the dancing seriously a few years ago... hence my channel here. I figure what have I got to lose. I might get called out. I might get called on. Won't ever know, until you try. It takes real guts to put yourself out there like that..and that's all I'm doing. peace.

  • That speach was really inspiring :)

  • hey, i dont know if you read this stuff but i started dancing now bout 4 months ago, go ahead check out my channel for my soso freestyle :P but yea it really gave me confidence; i moonwalk in the airport and fingertut during class, and its really another world to me. we had a dance show at my school (which got me into dancing) and after the show i got recognized, by my friends, girls, everybody and its so cool to have somthing that you like doing and having other people enjoy watching. thank you

  • haha i luv this sayin: talent is overated. haha well i saw this one girl tht could dance really good. i was like wtf; it blew my mind. i thought it was the coolest thing. that sparked my interest. then i got on youtube and looked up breakdance cuz of the misconception of bboying and popping was both just breakdancing. then i found bboyin. at first i did it to look cool haha. but soon i fell in love with bboyin then popping then choreo type moves. dancing has infected me lol

  • all my life i have seen bboys and other dancers doing there thing and i've always been amazed and wanted to do that. in the summer before 9th grade i took a class for a month and remember how cool is was to just wave. i took about 8 of those classes and over herd my teacher talking about a performance in disneyland. i've have been with the same teacher for 2 years, i've danced in disneyland twice, unrated with RNG twice and it's my biggest passion ever now. hoping one day make a career of dance

  • I love dancing, but no one else knows it haha, I don't have the guts to go do it in front of people xD. This was an amazing video though! Very inspiring, and I'll be sure to pass it on to my buddies haha ;)

  • Hey. :) I think i just got a lot more out of this than just asking myself if I'm a dancer (I am btw), or just getting motivation to research and practice new moves and terms. Also, it's cool to see how you smile as you talk about what you enjoy so much. :)

  • hey shawn, i've been dancing for 5 months now and i just want to say that you've been one of the biggest inspirations to me. I haven't gathered the courage to post up videos yet., but i 've been wondering how it was for you when you first started posting/ and dancing...

  • thx for that. great vid

  • Shawn you're a great dancer, can you make someday a tutorial, teatching lots of steps, to do our own choreography? Do you know how I can find tutorials about hip hop fusion? (ps sorry about my english xD)

  • Haha I loved your story about how you first started dancing.

I was actually a big nerd in college and played Dance Dance Revolution, and at the arcade I saw my now best friend freestyling on DDR - I was so impressed that I wanted to learn. So I've been in love with dance ever since.

I haven't been practicing enough, nor have I had enough confidence to battle (or even cypher much aaa!!), but thank you for this video - hopefully this will help me get out of my shell share my dance with everyone.

  • I think i started dancing in 8th grade. The only problem NOW is that I'm not creative enough to make my own moves and i keep repeating :( I actually was about to give up on it since the only thing i can do that looks smooth is tutting (i can also do popping but like i said, no creativity to make new moves) but after watching this video i have motivation and I will watch ur tutorials that i didn't watch yet to try and be better =D

  • This is alot better then those fake freestyles you have. More heart

  • @17animated fake freestyles?

  • Damn Shawn I've been dancing on my high school team for a year man, but I feel like I'm not getting any better. I'm getting discouraged. Still can't get choreo down while all my other teammates easily get the stuff down.

  • woahh you learned cwalk first?! i did too :o

  • I started dancing when i was grade 6, at first my dance was really bad " SUPER REALLY BAD!" XD until jabbawockeez come i started to practice and practice and im really good at dancing but i need to learn more!!! ^_^

  • I really like the background music, whats it called? lol

  • Glad you mentioned the whole not born a dancer thing. I didn't start dancing myself until junior year of high school and even then it was very basic stuff. VERY few people have inborn talent; those that do are usually prodigies. Even prodigies have to work hard to keep their talent honed. Just 'because you can't move to a beat in your current stage, don't go and label yourself as unable to dance. we all can!

  • i started dancing a year ago when i 1st saw one of your vids. But sometimes i think to myself maybe i'm not cut out for it because sometimes my bones n joints snap crackle n pop, i sprain my ankles gliding every now and then. Is it all a normal part of the process to get fit til my body is used to it?

  • I started dancing when i was five after i seen michael jackson motown 25 performance now i can moonwalk thanks mike R.I.P.

  • INever was gud in dancinq till last year because everybody thought iWould b gud nd iTried it bt iThink im ok yuhr videos, super crew, quest crew,nd the jabbawockeez nd thanx for all yuhr tutorials they realli help

  • I never really Pay attention to dancing Until I was in the 7th grade.8th grade till 9th, I tried breakdancing but there was no one to help me so i stopped.10th grade i tried jerking but i got lazy and fail.Sometimes I wanna give up cause Alot of poeple tell me that i Suck. They would say how my cousin is a good dancer but im not. I'll Dance to cherography but i just dont freestyle. But i still dont give up on dancin cause I Know that deep down, I CAN Dance&i will prove everyone wrong 1day.

  • Didn't you make a new channel or something? If someone knows what the name is can u plz tell me :)

  • Wait didn't you say that you started dancing as a b-boy? /watch?v=NAavtd4vucQ&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

You said in another earlier video that you started as a b-boy when you were playing basketball and a b-boy that lives enar you said you looked like one.. when did this c-walking come in?

  • @iDomosaurous Bboying was a few months before this. But back then bboying for me was just doing flares and windmills and some footwork. It didn't teach me how to "dance" with females at dances or anything. That's what I meant. The bboy that said said I looked like one def. help me start bboying but the fact that I couldn't dance with a girl inspired me to actually learn how to "dance/groove." Thanks for remembering!

  • Thank you for this video. It is so nice to see people like you that care. I used to dance when I was 8 years old and went to fitness fun clubs after school for fun. I was always dancing and jumping but never really defined my style. I stopped after the studies but as a Michael Jackson fan, I always wanted to dance but I was too shy. Only two weeks ago, I've decided to not give up and use this to express and to enjoy music. I'm new to this and just recently bought ur videos. I'm progressing!

  • lol often im a woke like 7pm in the morning and i start to train.

Thx shawn ur a big inspiration =D

  • I've loved to dance since my mom showed me to when I was about 11. Whenever I hear music, I can't help but to move. As I got older, however, I found myself never being able to pursue it the way I wanted to. I thought "maybe this is just a hobby, nothing major." Now I am 21, and I realize it's something I am definitely passionate about, and though I dance with my church a little, I can't help but feel sometimes that it's too late. But regardless, I still want and would love to learn more. <3

  • I started dancing when i was five (doing the typical five yr old dances, tap, ballet, jazz) but then i stopped....until 5 years later i goined some group where we did house , hip hop, bit of breaking and waacking dropped that cos of my studies but i still continue dancing in my home and watching your videos (+others) still give me a drive to continue dancing :)

  • i dont dance wen ur around cuz ur 2 good lol

u better let me tap dat next time i see u hahaha jk

  • I started dancing in 9th grade...I have seen EVERY season of So You Think You Can Dance and after the first couple seasons I decided to pick it up. I watched everything from Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Usher and Pacman. I loved it! From that point on I began doin talent shows and my passion for dance EXPLODED. I look back on my old videos and think...man I was terrible...but that is the beauty. It is an amazing art form and every 3 months I can honestly say I Improve tremendously. LOVE DANCE

  • I always liked dancing in highschool but i grew up a Jock and dancing was considered for "Girls" and most of my friends just would clown me all day if I tried....until I saw ABDC then I tried to Bboying and it came natural from years of sports.....Im still not as good as world class bboys but Im good enough to keep trying

  • i became a dancer cuz one of my friends was part of a dance group in california.

i was a freestyler at first (4th grade). in middle school(6th-8th) i picked up some popping but mainly focused on Krumping.in 10th grade i stared to get more into choreography basically jabba & sorealcru inspired me especially brian puspos and jun quemado.my junior & senior i've been focusing on choreo more than ever & i def love it.im still trying to grow into a better dancer.

im an aspiring choreographer for mL

  • i grew up around breakdancing, and i absolutely LOVED it, but i was too scared of rejection growing up, so i would never dance in public. i would do it here and there mainly because i would get hyped up after seeing breakdancers, but i never stepped into a circle because of that fear. i think the worst wasn't the fear itself, but the regret of a missed opportunity to just enjoy the music and dance. it started off as a hobby but because of god, it was soon turned into a passion through worship

  • I Even plan on progressing in my moves when I go college next month might even inspire someone else like u doing with a whole lot of ppl ....thank God for ppl like u ...much love n respect

  • I started dancing when I was like 8 had no rythm but now I dance pretty well I just wannna be come excellent I'm very shy to n I actually got up nerve to do school talent show twice..but thanks ur a great person u give everybody hope...n u gave me motivation to keep on doing what I'm doing...thanks :-)

  • ..better at it. Then not to long I decided to do popping. It's not that clean yet but with more practice, I'll get better. Recently another friend of mine told me that I should learn how to break and he supports me a lot, so after hearing this, I decided to learn how to break again and this time not much is going to stop me and I'm going to add more soul into it unlike before. So yeah I'm still learning my basics, but I want to keep building myself into a better dancer.

  • I didn't dance not long ago. I use to watch ABDC and I remember seeing Boogie Bots out there and I was like "I wanna dance like them." In 8th grade I was asked if I wanted to learn how to break, but I declined that. After I became a Freshman I decided to learn how to break, but then there was problems, like being told to not injure yourself from breaking and not really getting any support, so I left that aside for a while and decided something new. I learned tutting not long ago and Im getting..

  • i actually started dancing when i i saw D-Trix and Hok on So You Think You Can Dance....i was watching their freestyles and i was thinking to myself "what if i could do that? :D" next thing i know, my mom had me enrolled in a dance class learning basic Hip Hop moves/choreo, and from there i moved up to Teams Such as Future Shock SD and now Natural Vibes.....i mainly got into Bboying at 1st, then i stepped it up with Choreo and Popping, and now im goin on to compete in Hip Hop International! :)

  • wow o_o i was just thinking about this before i click this video :O

  • This really spoke to me. Thanks, man. Needed this.

  • sweet words of encouragement man, that stuff can bring a down soul up when it

comes to music and going with it using some type of talented stuff in it.:)

its amazing on how words can be powerful with using in certain ways towards

other ppl wiether its good or bad.(unless u use the" qoutes")But above anything

its good 4 u to believe in ur self and focus on what u r tryin to achieve.;]

  • Haha I started the same exact way as you. A 9th grader (4 years ago) who had never danced before decide to try it (it was c-walking too lol) out simply because i wanted rhythm and wanted the ability to dance with a girl. Even though i do mma and love to fight, i'll always have a special place in my heart for dancing. Freestyle dancing always taught my to go with the flow and do what feels right whether that be on the dance floor, on the mat fighting, or in life. I'll always <3 dancing.

  • I've always wanted to dance as a kid, but when I saw a friend of mine popping in high school, I just had to do it for myself. The next night I told myself that I was gonna make this happen. And about 3 years later, here I am: A popper and a bboy that has won a competition. Haha and I was always the quiet kid that got picked on in school. Now my self-confidence is through the roof.

  • i started dancing since 19 when once i saw MJ's moonwalk; while learning moonwalk i also get in love with MJ's music and started my popping and locking journey. youtube is really a great media that teach me how to dance. how do i learn popping and locking ? all through u shawn =] enjoy the music; enjoy the dance =]

  • I didn't know how to dance i started dancing in 8th grade self taught from youtube and now i love it and getting really known for it so i know im a dancer and if you don't believe check my channel out

  • I grew up around dancers, it was always around me because my dad was a DJ for a b-boy crew. I would always dance alone and just mess around and teach myself as well as learn from videos and seeing people dance. But it wasn't til about May I got serious about it. My friend got me to be more confident and get on stage and dance! Now I love everything about it and I'm slowly improving :D

  • Van forced me to Dance!

It was around ABDCSeason3, QuestCrew. Van was like "yo Kev you should learn how to dance, you have sick hair like QuestCrew, girls would love u if you learn howto dance"

I was like "lol, no thanks, pass." but he insisted n tried teaching me howto bboy. at the time I only liked watching it, cause I FAIL at it. but it grew onto me after my first battle at school, then I took it to the Talent Show! That's when I realized I like Dancing. Then I wanted to teach others too, lol

  • I really like to dance but the thing is I don't have any confidence in my moves I think im scared someone saying " that guy popping sucks " I learn only popping because I was like omg that was so cool and started learning it in my house

  • @TheCrazyPopper come on crazypopper just dont care how ppl saying u sucks even if they do. enjoy the music and u will dance like an expert and be sure enjoy dancing !! cheers

  • @funnyken1 yeah thanks man I think you know what i'm saying right the feel when you do a freestyle for fun makes you smile

  • I saw my friend do a 1990 and i was like dayum. But that's the boring part. I started off with of course youtube vids. And was crazy about it when i hit my first flare. I practiced alone for a good 5 months till i inspired my friends at school and, currently still am inspiring others.

  • I recently started dancing, I was encouraged my best girlfriend :)

*This video of yours is amazing it made me wanna practice all day, thank you*

  • @Muzicsoulrythm

yo, ur channel is sick bro. A LOT of helpful tips. Can i make request tho? Can yah freestyle or do a choreography on "Secrets by One Republic. I cant find a decent one. Mostly contemporary style or repetitive moves. No story to the dance. Ur style is crisp, detailed and has a snap to it. keep it up bro and thanks for all ur vids. Keep in mind my request tho. im sure i aint the only one. PayzE!

  • i startd dancin when i was LITTLE.i was little like 7 years old.it wasnt nun to me until i signed up for dance classes at SLDC(sugar land dance center)nd i took classes for around 2years nd then a new teacher,JHERU ALBA,from soreal studios.i took classes with him for about 3years nd then one year i started really wanting to be a class A dancer.i tried out at soundboxx(where IME is from)and made the dance team ROIT SQUAD♥.ive been ever so greatful to have this luck.keep on dancin

  • Man I remember the first time I started 2 dance I tried b-boying at first I really wasn't that good at it but then I decided 2 try locking I had show me a couple of locking moves and that person told me to check out youtube 4 locking tutorials. So I watched tutorials over and over again because I had 2 memorize the moves in my head because I didn't have a computer at home.Dance is almost always on my mind,it started off as me wanting not be the guy was standing on the wall, now I love it!

  • i started dancing at party's just doind like the 2 step then some basic waving kinda as a joke at first, then between watching the Jabbawockeez and when i saw Step Up 2 and the big dance scene at the end in the rain really ignited a fire and i started dancing with passion. i've been dancing ever since and its a huge part of my life!

  • Basically everyone I know who can really dance started when they were young, so sometimes it's just easy to give up and think 'I'll never be that good'. So thanks for making this video and reminding me that anyone can start dancing :)

  • I think i started dancing when i was around 4(im 18 now). My brother had his little bboy group back in high school and he would teach me some moves every now and then. Once he got into college he just dropped it and i felt like i lost my only connection to the dance community. once i got back into hs dance was an on and off thing. people saw me dance, thought i was good, but i personally felt that i couldnt keep up. i still enjoy it, and i always have the inspiration, just need to make it happen

  • Well my name is Steven Melgar i always loved dancing as a kid but was always afraid of people judging me or talking down on me if i ever looked stupid dancing. It just hit me on the most randomest day..who are they to tell me what i can or cant do. So one morning i just started dancing, looking up videos on youtube tutorial anything that could help my knowledge as a dancer. Turns out i have had a year now dancing as a popper, 8 months bboy, and 7 months doing choreo. Ill never regreat dancing(:

  • my friend took me put me in a garage and made me do a baby freeze 20 times till i go it then i loved dancing 8th grade bro :)

  • I am loving all the feedback and dance stories. Keep on posting and checking back up on it. I think a lot of people/dancers can relate to some of the stories because I know I can. Thanks!

  • @Muzicsoulrhthm I want to Dance. I like watching people Dance. My Favorie Dance Crew right now, and will always be one of my Favorite is I.aM.mE. That's why I want to Dance. But I don't think I can just learn from video's on Youtube. I can Tutt a lil. But I think having a teacher would help... But I don't know any around my area. But I'll keep trying. Thanks for the video man!

  • @Mraybaker Youtube helps. Already saw Phillip Chbeeb ? He never had teacher. He's a beast in what he do because he really would like to do that, so he tried to learn by anyway. Sure, classes are important, very important. I'm just saying that you can learn a lot of things from Youtube, and not just tutting and basics things, you can learn really hard things if you want, but you really must want. Just becarfull to don't hurt yourself. *I didn't said tutting is basic. =D

  • @xVitinho10 PacMan had no teacher? :O I never knew that! But yeah. I'm one of those people who doesn't think postivly alot. But I'll keep trying! Thanks!

  • @Mraybaker Yeah, he said it when he was the less voted guy on SYTYCD. Actually he said a lot of beautiful things before leave SYTYCD.

  • @xVitinho10 Oh... I didn't know hime until ABDC :S

  • what i can remember is that when i was in the 5th grade, there was a dancer on tv and i tried immitating. After that i wondered if i was doing it right so i went in front of the mirror and danced. I thought "man, i can do thiiiiiiiiiis!" these recent years, whenever there is nobody around and when everybody's sleeping, i listen to my ipod and just move and dance around the house. At the end of the day, I was dancing what I'm feel.

People sing in the shower; I dance in the shower. :))

  • I Started dancing a little after the 2nd trimester during my 8th grade year, and that happened thanks to my friend Roel putting the pressure on by say "Oh c'mon man try learning this choreo i made; I'm sure u can do it." So i just gave in and was like screw it "LET'S DO THIS SHIZZ!" and after i learned the choreo i was thinking why didn't I try dancing a long time ago. Now i got a lil bit of some fields and still trying to get my brake dancing a lot better
