Hello David,my name is Pablo ,i'm from Peru,i want say you, firts,no speak or whrite English very well(sorry),but i have a great deal of admiraration for your videos, all very nices, especially this, and NVB.71-Back-Hand english,it's helped me alot!!!thank you very much!!Now,tell me,do you to participate any competition??because, you are very heavy pool player!!
Try it yourself. The clothespin orientation doesn't matter. If you want, you can counterbalance them by placing them in opposite directions. Alternatively, wrap the cue with something (e.g., taped coins). Any mass you add to the end (in any orientation) increases squirt.
I completely agree. My comment was not that the off-center mass makes the experiment null and void, but that the average viewer may see this as a problem and discredit it without thinking or trying themselves. As an educational video, I feel it would be better if this variable were removed.
I truly hope people take that approach. Your videos are well thought out and informative. I believe their purpose is to inspire learning, and they do just that.

I am not a professional, but I do play in a league and for fun.
I am more an instructional author than a "player."

Doctor Dave, how do i estimate my aiming to compensate my squirt?

Clothespins are off-center weights. Had you used ring weights or some other center-conscious weight, this would be more believable.

Good point.
Hopefully, people will try the experiment themselves. They can easily put the clothespin at different angles and distances to see the effects.
