Okay someone answer me this. Apparently Ingrid is against any kind of pet ownership, even seeing eye dogs, and thinks all animals should be free. Well, what about domesticated dogs? They can't live free. Dogs cannot fend for themselves, a stray dog can't hunt on its own like even cats can do. They've been bred for hundreds of years to serve humans, and know absolutely nothing about living wild. If she's all for animal freedom, what does she propose to do about domesticated dogs?

If you choose not to eat meat, cool. But there's nothing wrong with it. Animals even kill other animals. The only reason I point out the fact above is that PETA talks about animal rights. What about their right to live? It's one thing to kill and use the meat. It's another to kill something just for being.

What you've presented is rather a textbook definition of an ad hominem. Peta could own the whole meat industry; it in no way negates their argument that eating meat is morally wrong. Euthanasia is sometimes necessary. There was a nurse who euthanized her patients during hurricane Katrina. She was looking out for their best interests in not suffering. If you believe she was justified then you already apply to PETA's logic in this case.

You could say war is natural. That its natural to have women lower than men. However there is a thing called compassion. People are dieing because we feed overpopulated farm animals more than we feed starving children. Meat is not a need but a greed. A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral.

You do realize that it's not the killing of meat, but do lions and tigers keep antelope in small areas and then send them on a trip where they starve all the way to the slaughter house. NO they bite the jugular and kill healthy and happy animals in the wild faster then we do. Second of all we're not carnivors we'r omnivors and omnivors eat more veggies then meat.Second of all we eat so much meat that it's hurting the environment.

Yes I'm an american but I've read that animal rights is much more popular in the UK than it is here in America. Animal rights is making strides in your own country. Also yes its horrible for the enviroment. One of the main causes of deforestation is due to animals raised for food. One-third of all our resources is used to raise animals for food. We use more land and more grain to bring pleasure for ourselves. We are killing earth for the mere sake of a few moments of pleasure.

I have seen responses that repeat that it is morally wrong. But no explanation why. The Bible and the Koran both give guidelines on which meats are to be eaten and which are to be left alone. So if it is morally wrong, who is making that standard?

That should be common sense, your parents and society.
If you think that without religion you can't be moral, you need to check out crime stats, birthrate, life expectancy, quality of life, etc. of the UK, Sweeden, Japan, and the other countries where the majority is non-religious. You'll find that these countries rank much higher than say, the United States - which is actually near the bottom of the list.
