I would have liked this song even if Sean wasn't John Lennon's son. It's how I am with music from great musician spawns. They are artists first and the child of their amazing and successful parent second.
I love it! I love the studio version better , than the unplugged version.. He doesn't have to duplicate his father , he just needs to be himself, and though he shows obvious influences, he iis developing his own style .
All you idiots are arguing that "it's good but not just because it's John Lennon's kid", while I personally think "It's good despite the fact it's John Lennon's kid".
The Beatles are a little overplayed and I personally am kinda burnt out on it, but this is new and interesting.
Just cause it's old don't always make it classic to everybody, might as well just listen to the shit and quit arguing about it, but what do I know?

I know I'll get hell for this but would anyone like this song and think it was good if it was done by another artist? I really don't think so. I loved the Beatles and John Lennon, but Julian and Sean will never replace him in the music department, ever. He was one of a kind.
@debjean63 yes, john was unique. No one can replace him... but at least in my case i loved this song since the first time i heard it (not this version, honestly i dont love this one, but the demo one /watch?v=JgO9GIQv0RQ )
well, my point is i dont like it because it's John's son (actually as far as i know the lyrics have more from Charlotte) i just love that "you cant intimidate the trees" and that stufff [probably why i like"I am the walrus" too]
@debjean63 Its funny because i listened to this song for the first time not even realizing. I loved it then and I keep coming back not for Lennon but for GOASTT.
@debjean63 For me, I HEARD about Sean Lennon because of his father, but if this music wasn't good I would not be listening to it, just like I'm not sitting here listening to Julian's music either. This music is good on its own. I'm also not sitting here playing Yoko Ono, and is she booking venues like Sean?? I don't think so.
@debjean63 I fell in love with this tune before I knew who it was. I like it better than John's (solo) stuff. I do love the beatles though. Everyone comes down so hard on him though for being a "trust fund kid" or not being as good as his dad. Even if you don't like it, he's trying to do something unique. I'm sure he'd trade in his money to get his dad back. What's sad is this has 17,888 plays, and Paris Hiltons video has millions.WTF is that?
Only that first part was directed at you debjean63.
I actually liked this group before I knew it was Sean Lennon, saw a live performance video without enough video quality to see his face and started listening to more before I realized. So the answer to your question is yes, people would like this song without knowing it was him.
Thank you so much for posting. I can't get enough of the GOASTT. Plus Plus Plus, je ne peux pas obtenir assez!!!
The video is breathtaking, but the album version has the mind-blowing guitar riffs. The sensuality, the love, the fun, the endless horizons...please keep stimulating my mind like a mad scientist poking my brain...
I want to hate them, but I can't. I love this song.

@debjean63 Sean makes quite a different music than John did, so i think your comparison of them is not quite right.
