  • The LT is mounted also with this windshield :)

  • @zuhansz

    You may be right! :)

  • Nice! However it's not LT, but RT modification.

  • u got rt windshield crazy man ;]

  • STUPENDO !!! COMPLIMENTI !!!

  • @BIGPAOLO1969

    Grazie!

  • I have a 1987 K100. Love those bikes! The best motorcycles BMW ever built. There are many K100's from the 1980's with over 300,000 miles on them.

  • @graycloud057

    Best 1985 models

  • I just got my 85 K-100 RS on the road this morning after 6 month's of rebuilding, and all I have to say about the bike is "Incredible"!!! What a great piece of German engineering! A very impressive build, look and with enough power, if only 90 Horses.

  • 1:18, he's nearly 1000 rpm over the redline, just before he changes into top... Adrenaline will do that to you...I'm surprised the rev limiter didn't cut in...I had one of these, hugely recommended!

  • Whoah, that's the first time I've seen a K100 redlined.

  • wow, this is some video. and really impressive. like the action on the bmw-linda

  • Great video - top speed is so easily maintained on the K100. I have managed to do 900 miles in one day on mine from England to Spain and I still wasn't sore by the time I reached Burgos!

  • Hehe. Ok, you know, K-driver. :)

  • Topspeed is 220km/h. No more. I have K100 RS.

  • No, it isn't 220km/h, topspeed is max 217 - 218 km/h

    :)

  • Top speed as certified by the federal german traffic authority according to the type apoproval(indicated in the german vehicle document):209 Km/h (= 130 mp/h).

Top speed as given by BMW (technical data instruction manual):ca.215 Km/h

Top speed according to speedometer on a german Autobahn-straight track, no elevation,no wind:Ca.230Km/h

Speedometer may vary up to7%under german legislation, refering to the de-facto speed.

    Average of +5%,which makes:230Km/h-5% (ca.12 Km/h) =ca.220 Km/h.

  • ...pherhaps 220Km/h is no great deal anymore today, since many 600ccm motorbikes bust the 250Km/h barrier with ease. But in fact,220Km/h on a motorbike is far more than enough-and the big advantage of the K100LT is its cool handling, rather perfect ergonomics and stressfreeness.Because of its excellent wind protection and good wind resistance,on Autobahns, you may go as fast as 200km/h for hours, without fatiguing more than in good a car of the 80ies.This indeed makes the big BMW sort of unique.

  • Im thinking to buy a K series

But if the bike(Rpm) is run past the red are

like in this video, wont it wear out very fast ?

  • NO-the even today still sophisticated engine(electronic fuel injection and engine management))of the K100 is based upon a BMW formula 2 racing engine from the70ies.The race car engine developed far above 100hp,whereas in the K100 it features a rather meager 90hp.I do not know any other motorbike reaching the same degree of mechanical reliability and eternal mileages.More than 150,000 KM(nearly a 100,000miles)run without a serious mechanical breakdown is a rule rather than an exception.

  • Wow......

  • hat azok akik a motron ultek biztos nem normalisok (tisztelet a kivetelnek)

  • wow, you really kick that BMW in the ass, and it's going like hell. Nice!
