@bullheadmikec421 Rider means everything when racing a bike, hell I've walked R1s back when my car was heads/cam because they couldn't ride. The tune wasn't off but the fuel system was completely maxed out, then again this video is 3 years old and a lot has changed since then.

@bullheadmikec421 It looks like turbo lag to me. You can tell that once they get going the Camaro actually has the advantage, just takes a sec. The car obviously would beat it at the track, assuming it was setup for it. More boost doesn't necessarily mean more mass air flow. That all depends on how restrictive your intake is and how warm your intake temperatures are.

@BigBadTurboM3 It's basically got good rods/pistons, mild cam and heads and a 76mm turbo. Back when this video was made the fuel system consisted of a walbro 255 with a boost a pump so it was out of fuel as well.
All in all I would much rather have a car that could take a big shot of nitrous over a big turbo car cause there is no lag in nitrous. Im not saying turbo cars are bad or anything but did you see how long it took the camaro to spool up and it seemed like as soon as it spooled up he shifter he didnt get a chance to ride the boost out at all.
@QuickSSilver98 You do realize that pretty much every racing series has weight penalties for turbo cars compared to nitrous cars because they have the advantage right? The camaro didn't spool up fast because I wasn't brake boosting nor was I powershifting, as it says in the description of the video no use in breaking anything on a fun run. Plus it rode the boost out just fine in every gear that I was in so not sure what you are talking about.
@QuickSSilver98 Even if you shift fast you cannot be as quick as the automatic transmission on it self and with the manual you gotta release the pedal to shift and with an auto you dont wich is why you don't lost any boost between gears
@alexelcui I guess you dont know what power shifting is. Its shifting without using the clutch or taking your foot off the gas, it takes some practice to get used to but it can be done.

I've been in the same year of GTS and they come with 450HP stock from the factory. With Heads and Exhaust it should make close to or 500HP. with the 250 shot around the region of 580 - 590.
I'm just making a guess on what I know. I'm not saying that I know for a fact that this viper has that amount of HP.

Okay i am a camaro man myself but im amazed that a turbo ls1 at 14lbs. can beat a viper with heads, exhaust, gears, and a 250 shot! What eles did you do to the ls1? I run a 150 shot on a full bolt on 400 sbc and its a huge kick in the pants. What does your car run in the quarter?
It was making ~740 rwhp and torque at the time of this video. You figure the Viper was probably making 700 rwhp and torque and it's a pretty even match with the turbo always running it out up top compared to a bottle car. I never raced it in this config at the track but with another 2 psi it went mid 9s. That video is on here as well.

I can tell you haven't driven anything with this much power before. That's about as fast as I can shift without pitching the car completely sideways. Power shifting to keep the boost up just gives serious wheel spin and you have to lift and/or pedal it anyways so why bother tearing up transmissions. Either way it's a moot point since the car is now an auto.

It would have been very different. With as much power as it makes if I power shift it to keep it into boost it just goes sideways. I already did swap it to an auto and it's perfect and controllable now. Stay tuned for a part 2 with the auto and bike.

umm, no. Actually we made the video to just totally screw with people. We just ran the races at double speed playback and just changed the tone on the audio to make it match. There was actually no racing going on since all of the vehicles were just out cruising. *shakeshead*

Did you miss the part where I coasted past the R1 up top? Of course I lost from a dig on an unprepared surface with no burn out but at the track when I actually try I beat it easily and that's just on the medium boost level. Bikes don't have traction issues nearly as bad on the street when you compare them to these cars. However, the top end on a bike is not all that impressive. The aero flat out blows. That's why the camaro kept catching him.
I was talking purely from an aerodynamics perspective. Bikes have worse drag coefficients than trucks. When you pass about 130, cars have a huge advantage.

Love the Camaro! I wonder how different it would've been if your car was an automatic and been able to stay in boost the whole pass? I have a single T76 in my '96 Z28 M6 w/3.55's. Right now, it's set up for 600rwhp at 12 psi (Dynapak Dyno). Thanks for the video!

It would have been very different. With as much power as it makes if I power shift it to keep it into boost it just goes sideways. I already did swap it to an auto and it's perfect and controllable now. Stay tuned for a part 2 with the auto and bike.

Yes, I both ride and drive, and riding gives more of a buzz anyday. And no i dont have a slow car, i have a Worked Ford xr8 ute. Granted witha good supsenison set up and tyres makes a difference, But say we started at the same point and the finish was 20mins away? The bike will win 9 times out of 10. Lol ;) granted if it's raining it'll suck. But you'll spent half of it sideways.

Now you are talking semantics about an unknown race that is 20 minutes away? I am talking about facts here and the fact is a car is better in the twisties than a motorcycle, period. Cars have a much bigger contact patch and can actually brake well if need be in the corners compared to a bike which is limited. Do some research and let's not argue against facts.

umm, no. Actually we made the video to just totally screw with people. We just ran the races at double speed playback and just changed the tone on the audio to make it match. There was actually no racing going on since all of the vehicles were just out cruising. *shakeshead*

I don't see any car making 850 hp in that video so not sure where that came from. We did do a dig which was worthless for a higher horsepower car on a dusty street which was to be expected as well. I'm a WS6 owner. I also own a 02 gsxr600 stunt bike, and a 03 R1. There is a lot of pride with the Fbodies, but going against a streetbike and thinking you;re gunna win, you're smoking crack.U will run out of money building up that LS1 and breaking shit before you will beat a modern streetbike. Also depends on the rider, a lot of novice riders out there with pretty, financed, brand spaking new bikes that cant ride for shit. I'll post a vid soon my gsxr600 VS 07mustang/15lb boost to prove it

Did you miss the part where I coasted past the R1 up top? Of course I lost from a dig on an unprepared surface with no burn out but at the track when I actually try I beat it easily and that's just on the medium boost level. I am sure not out of money nor am I breaking shit all the time either. Actually I built this car 4 years ago and it's still running strong with no failures.

On the boost level I was running in the video my car would trap ~140. On straight pump gas it went 10.1 @ 135 at ~11 psi.

Bikes don't have traction issues nearly as bad on the street when you compare them to these cars. However, the top end on a bike is not all that impressive. The aero flat out blows. That's why the camaro kept catching him.

I was talking purely from an aerodynamics perspective. Bikes have worse drag coefficients than trucks. When you pass about 130, cars have a huge advantage.
