Theme Hospital Windows 7 Installation Instructions

Hey, I copied everything fine but when I open the properties I can't find the compatibility tab; only General, Sharing, Security, Previous Versions, Customise, and ASUS WebStorage. Any suggestions on how to run in 256 colour mode?

@MrWeeklyVlog I'm not 100% sure but I think if you use exactly the same 'Nickname' at the very start of the game, then your saves work. However I think they might jump around (so Save 1 could be in the Save 8 spot). It's worked for me.

@AaronBouchiba - Check to make sure you have copied the entire contents of the HOSP directory over. In the HOSP directory there should be a sub-directory called DATA and in there should be 5 files named LANG-0.DAT, LANG-1.DAT and so on, up to LANG-5.DAT. If these files are missing or inaccessible for some reason, you will get that error.

@AaronBouchiba - You could also try installing the Theme Hospital patch, which you should be able to find by Googling "Theme Hospital Patch 1.1"

This fixes a few known issues one of which relates to running on faster computers. I haven't tried it myself as the game runs fine for me, but it might be useful for other people having problems with the game.

And I have one suggestion about colours - it could be caused by size of monitor. Game Dungeon Keeper II is working on W7 and it works pretty good when I'm using 19'' monitor, but when I switched it to 24'' colours were "funny" - I mean black "mega pixels". Now I'm playing Theme Hospital on 19'' and it's not bad ;)

i beleieve to get the game to work properly u really need to just get Windows XP mode for windows seven... it allows you to use old programmes and play old games on a computer with windows 7...

Try this right click your desktop and click personalise you must select a non aero themes such as one of the basic and high contrast themes

Then right click on the desktop short cut and click properties on the compatability tab click the following boxes

Run in 256 colours, Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution

This worked for me perfectly I run on windows 64x with ATI Radeon HD 6790 GPU, 8GB RAM you dont have to worry about selecting windows compatablity mode

This method worked, for the most part, fairly well. I had no lag and the game saved properly. The only problem was that firstly, the graphics were messed up, purple squares round charectors and machines with a rainbow of colours splattered across it. The main thing that annoys me though is that i cant get past the second level without the game locking up with the echo of people cheering in the background, a clear sign of that somethig is wronge!!! Can anyone help!

an alternative would be to just download the theme hospital iso file (which you can get for free at piratebay) and after that it's just a matter of mounting it with some mounting software like daemon tools or virtual clone. I prefer virtual clone though, works wonder for me!

just add the navigation tree to where the save override notepad is saved in and the rest is all done for you

Right, so far I have opened HOSPITAL.cfg in notepad, but what do I change it to? It says SAVE_OVERRIDE=c:\Hosp\........­.what do I replace Hosp with? Basically the whole file C drive, i in my documents in a folder called theme hospital :s

I got my Theme Hospital Working on my Vista bit-64 Hard Drive.

Last Year I was using the an old vista bit-32 is working and I using a zip Folder to putt on my memory Stick and I put Theme Hospital on my bit-64 is all full graphic, music and sound, also is allowed to save it all good, sadly then, this year with my old vista bit-32 Laptop is broken.

It still won't work as it should. Even if you check 256 colors box. I experience mouse lag and the colors are still a bit funny. So what I did was trying to kill Explorer... and then running. Then it worked fine, only to face another problem after level 2... the game hangs up, and I can't progress. I played through the level again, no luck. This game just wont work with Windows 7...

@onomix99 - I've been playing the game on my laptop (Windows 7 64-bit, Core i5 CPU, Intel HD graphics) and don't have mouse lag. I get funny colours but not if I check "Run in 256 colours". No problems playing past the second level (Sleepy Hollow) either. I don't think your issues are Windows 7 related. It could be something to do with your display driver - try installing a different release (earlier or newer). Incidentally, killing Explorer isn't going to make any difference to the game.

@TheAllegroMan Okay, I've installed it the way you said and then I changed it to 256 colours and it's exactly the same. I don't experience mouse lag but the colours are awful. I agree with onomix99, it doesn't work with Windows 7.
