I would say that our society is mature enough to be able to accept a fact that we are not the only intelligent life forms in the universe.

So based on the Papua New Guinea(PNG) culture and lack of modern technology, during the construction of these U.S. bases in the south pacific during WWII, the theory goes that ancient cultures took the same views as the PNG on these modern aircrafts as being that of divine creatures from the heavens, correct? One scenario I often think about is this- If we continued to live into the future and our technology advanced to point where we could travel back in time. Maybe in 1000yrs there is a war killing mankind, a group of people travel back in time to change things and end up so far back that they are depicted as these 'gods/aliens'. ? Gets you thinking. I would say that our society is mature enough to be able to accept a fact that we are not the only intelligent life forms in the universe.
To me it seems like there were other species here, way more older than humanity, they saw a potential in us and they decided to help us develop and evolve in what we are today. Maybe that's how it works in universe, there is so many questions and even more "maybe answers" to them, but one thing is sure, we are not alone, nor we ever were.

What hit me the most is that I never thought about the pyramids in the way they showed them ... when you think about it, it is impossible even for thousands of slaves to build this even in 100 years ... every stone would require hours of work even with todays technology ... making one of these huge perfectly shaped slabs of stone with nothing but a hammer and a chisel would take even a very skilled craftsman days if not weeks and thats just for 1 single piece!
