@mranamtip lol...They are all (most of them)automated and programmed by KIDS 20 years younger than the format.Good luck.I have been in broadcasting for 24 years and there is no more radio thanks to progress(fucking computers)
" I got this tape and wore it out. I liked the way he came at the sound with his guitar. I wish he was still with us but in essence he is because we keep him alive..."
this guy was a modern day blues master, will never be another quite like this one, this guy was incredibly talented, i can pick him out of 1000 guitarist just by hearing him, check out murder in the skies solo and cold hearted for some vintage moore
I really like his performance on BBM with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker but was very disappointed with his greatest hits album. And I don't think anything can compare with that seminal recording of "Shapes" by the Yardbirds. Including Jeff Beck on "Truth".
You say hanah montana-i fucking punch you in the face

Ant, I know you remember this version.....It makes me laugh to hear the original, it's kinda bubblegum.....forget who did it......it may have been The Yardbirds..but about that era....wish YouTube had the video......
thanx for posting faved, rated, and subbed, I remember seeing gary moore at a Texas Jam, shapes of things to come was my favorite. wasn't he with the baby dolls way back when?
I remember cutting school to learn to play this song, I ruined my needle playing the different parts over and over. I still love the dramatic pauses inbetween the phrasing. Very tasty!
This IS one of the all time greatest rock songs ever recorded...goosebumps dont even come close to my reaction to the power that is ripping off those string...and then flows to slow melodic...pure genious a monster guitarist a rock master...
also big fan of Gary, got to see him once at a concert club 20-25 yrs ago, and not here in states since (far as i know.) Sucks! Underrated/appreciated over here, all the radio stations wanna remember him for is ThinLizzy. More talented and prolific and passionate than nearly all your bigshot guitarists of today even! Always look forward to new cd from him!
Seen Gary at a night club here in Southern California and my ears rang for for 2 days. What my point is; I would do it all over again. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
It's funny how we can remember certain points in our lives and I remember the first time I heard this version of this tune. I was working as a roofer and we were listening to KNAC and this came on. I thought it sounded great but when the solo came up I remember stopping everything I was doing and saying to one of the guys, "who the hell is that?" I was floored. Nobody knew who he was and it still seems to be the case, at least hear in the States. Amazing guitarist!!!
Yes! Great, great, great cover from a guy who is perhaps better known for his straight blues playing. The solo is truly outstanding. I got those goosebumps the very first time I heard this song and still get 'em!
I am glad to see there are some Gary Moore fans out there. He has always been so entertaining to listen to. I was fortunate enough to see him in Los Angeles around 1988. Definitely an incredible guitar player - he made this song iconic!
Best version, no doubt. Also, one heck of a solo!

My favorite G.M. song.
Gary's death comes as a total shock. A tremendous talent has been lost.
Gary was one of my guitar idols and reasons for picking up an electric guitar.
Thanks for the music Gary. R.I.P.
