no speed limit on the Rx8, and yes it is a 192hp but with enough downhill to go at that speed.

the 231hp version can do 271 downhill also ;)

Everything i've read says the RX-8 is electronically limited to 155 mph (249 kph). I've not tesed that theory in mine yet. Guess the hill got you a little faster. Nice Video, love the car.

The European version is, the North American version is not.

And, you can apparently get around that by pushing the clutch pedal down just far enough to trigger the switch, but not enough to disengaged the clutch plates.

the european versions are not limited my friend ! We in france can go up to 271-272 km/h with the 231 HP model on downhill.

you can find limited top speed models in japan like all their sport cars, it's 180 km/h but they love to tune the cars to blow the limit.

and there is no use in limiting the top speed on a rx8 since the official numbers go from 225 (sp model) to 238 (hp model), the car is not powerfull enough to go really faster on a straight flat line.

Well I hate to break the news to everyone but do that math. That's a stock car yes.. For I have one as well but 255 km/h isn't no 190 mph it's only like 160. I've been 156 on flat road in mine. The stock gearing will only do like 183 give or take.

indeed cause actually it's just 1.3 with 2x654 engine twin-rotor engine ^_^.

wait until the new 16x engine arrives, it will be 2x800 = 1.6 and hopefully power will be 280 hp.

@Chirrigundo : all RX8 are N/A ! You can fit a Bolt On Turbo Greddy or a Hymee Supercharger, also some people fit a Pettit Racing Supercharger.

ok ok : as i know just sport springs and Hymee catback so no real increase in horsepower for this 192hp.

for information, i was once aboard a Rx8 231hp which did 267 kph on the same road ;), record in french forum on a stock 231 is 270.

oui je confirme, car une 192 est donnée pour 225 chrono, je pense pas qu'on puisse un jour affirmer qu'elle puisse aller aussi vite sur du plat ;) mais ça fait toujours plaisir à voir car c'est forcément de plus en plus rare.
