  • Thanks for posting that. This is actually the first time I've seen Colbert out of character, and I'm a big fan of the character that he is most of the time. This gives a good insight into what's behind the faux Republican on the "Colbare Repore"

  • Oh how I miss Tim Russert.

  • when hes out of character hes literally smiling hundred percent of the time

  • It's a shame whenever somebody claims that they're part of a demographic and people lambast them. It reflects the internal strife of our country, and the polarization of our beliefs. We simplify and distill, and suddenly it allows people to completely circumvent thinking for themselves, segregate, and bash others whom they identify as being "seperate" from their political orientation. Calling somebody a "fascist" or a "libtard/republifag" for simply being patron of a political party is idiotic.

  • @Aeipathy09 dont bother. the very thing you're arguing against if the very thing that drives their world. without it they are less of a person, perhaps not much of one at all. dont bother, they're not worth it.

  • It's about time people realize that not all democrat beliefs are stupid and not all republican beliefs are stupid. Steven Colbert is probably a moderate, because he has both Republicans and Democrats convinced that he is on "There side".

  • @DanielDuChateau Lol are you serious? He clearly plays an unflattering caricature of the Jesus loving, right wing Fox news anchor: Bill O'reilly. I don't think anyone is saying that his show is not a parody, and in this interview he stated he portrays a character with an opposing view to his actual beliefs and ideals.

  • @WiseMosquito I'm definitely not trying to argue. Obviously he's a satirical comic who's making fun of the far right. There's a difference between for the far right though and agreeing with everything democrats say.

  • @DanielDuChateau Exactly. Any time something devolves into "My Dad can beat up your Dad," things go to shit.

  • Only an idiot would dislike Colbert. Maybe he confuses some people, but after two or more shows, if you don't "get" it, you should only watch with smarter people. Both, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, may be a bit over your head and you'll need someone to try and explain some things to you. It's okay.
  • What a waste of his time 3 minute interview wtf? Colbert doing an interview out of character needs more than that

  • This is so strange seeing him out of character.

  • @disieldude - must* ( no wonder we live in a country where the illiteracy rate increases at a faster pace than Middle School Graduates )

  • This guy talks too much! blah blah blah!

  • Stephen Colbert is possibly the funniest guy on TV. The "Colbert Report" is a total riot! I love the way he sticks it to some people who really have it coming in such a sly, sarcastic way.

  • Lol children aren't the only ones who don't get it's a character

  • What we all need to do is find one ignorant comment supporting on-air Stephen and just "like" the SHIT out of it.

  • @tylerrhancock

Nice job spell checking a you tube post. Your moms basement most be a looney dark place.

  • @dieseldudee youtube* mom's* lonely*

  • i actually like this guy, it's a shame he's such a liberal

  • @baseballkid077 being a liberal is bad? everyone cant be the same or we will be living in a boring world.

  • Educating, informing the Colbert show?

The show is a joke show just like the daily show. It has no educational value but dumb kids will argue the politics they see on there thinking there "informed". No wonder we have a community organizer for president

  • @dieseldudee It's called satire. Mark Twain did satire, and people take/took him seriously regarding the politics of the day.

  • @dieseldudee they're*

  • @dieseldudee Well done for the spelling fail in a comment bitching about educational value. It's either a really meta attempt at irony or you shot yourself in the foot.

  • I saw him drink blood from a child once, and kick an old lady. It was dark out and I could have been asleep. But still....

  • Wait.. So there are people that don't understand that Colbert's character is a satire on the right wing? LOL AHAHA

  • @VikTalks yes. which means he's really really good.

  • Stephen Colbert for President 2012

  • Col-bear should go back to his fuckin country.

  • @X8802 South Carolina isnt a country, shithead.

  • he seems so sincere and modest and genuine. As if you needed more reasons to love him and hate him at the same time. Have a flaw god damn it!

  • @15552 I'm convinced that people like him (and George Clooney) are closet-serial-killers.

They're WAY too likeable and charming to not be total, psychopathic, blood-lusting necrophiles.

  • Are any of us ever really out of character?

  • @BombKrueger that was the most fucking profound youtube comment i have ever read in my life. and i want you to know, and i mean this honestly, i sat here for about 10 minutes thinking about what you said. and you have actually changed my life with your comment. jesus christ.

  • he says its harder for kids to realize its just a character..America is obviously full of children

  • Proffesor chaos i wont spend anymore time on you. You do not matter. So neither does your opinion

  • It's funny yeah, I use to watch the "real news", but after seeing some person like Stewart or Colbert I realized and still see how stupid real news is. When you look at the things around us, some times you can't help but see how dumb you have to be to believe.

  • i'm a republican ...just decided to say that.:P

  • @szeilea I'm a fascist. Just throwing that out there.

  • @ABleakFuture i'm black yo

  • Great to see Stephen being Stephen... And man, do I miss Tim Russert.

  • I'm convinced Colbert is an Angel.

  • some awesome trolling, lolol

  • The real Colbert is a decent, intelligent and simply wonderful man. I love him!

  • As a conservative my take is that Colbert is one of the era's great comedic geniuses. Those who don't "get it" need to lighten up.

  • isnt this host dead ?

  • If you dont understand the Colbert character, then you are probably the exact kind of person the joke is on, which makes it even funnier for me.

  • @snappy452 I'm a Conservative, and I agree. I love his show, despite the satirical theme.

  • @pwuint12 Impossible, conservatives dont have a sense of humor :p

  • @snappy452 Knock knock.

  • @pwuint12 come in :D

  • @snappy452 Good morning, sir, I am here to collect your taxes.

  • @pwuint12 ahhhh no speka de ingles' andale andale vamanos!

  • @snappy452 He isn't a character, he is just in a news broadcasting position. You obviously haven't seen the show before.

  • @LaxRatBra Thats either bad sarcasm or youre fucking retarded. I hope for your sake its the former, because that can be fixed with practice.

  • @snappy452 He's on the fuckin comedy network nitwit, he aint legit.

  • @X8802 WELL NO SHIT, THANK YOU CAPTAIN OBVIOUS.

  • @X8802 Just stick to shows on your level of intellect, like Bill Oreilly and the 700 club

  • Comment removed

  • @snappy452 well put

  • @snappy452 Some Republican watches Colbert and think he's on their side.

  • What a handsome, lovely, amazing man.

  • The twist here is that Colbert out of character is still Colbert!!!

  • @themidgethotel

they are not even close. Cant you see the difference ?

  • somebody's caught a sarcasm fail. get well soon.

  • RIP tim russert

  • hes a good guy no matter what bitches

  • Comment removed

  • Gotta love Colbert.

  • If I had twelve writers I'd be funny too.

  • @brenbaroque I'm sorry my friend, but Colbert is funny even when he doesn't have writers

  • @yhallotharlol Exactly. Plus, his ability to deliver the performance is on an exceptionally high level. Not anyone can roll with the punches like he does and be cleverly satirical while staying in character.

He's one of my all-time favorite performers.

  • big thank you for uploading

    . grassy-asss! stephen rules

  • It's a sign of your intelligence, the ability to understand Satire. When adults actually think Colbert is a bible thumping republican, and you don't realize he's satirical... you're stupid.

  • @ashleypoo1319 yuuup

  • @ashleypoo1319 yea no one actually thinks that

  • Colbert for fake president 2012

  • i love stephen colbert - he is a genius!! always amazed when people think he really beleives what he spews on the show

  • I think Beck was FOX News' answer to Stephan Colbert. The only difference was Beck was actually that fucking nuts. No character needed.

  • Now I have to find what doyleadd said...

  • I liked him better as a woman.

  • I miss Tim.

  • @MBails1987 Meet The Press is just not the same without him.

  • in and out of character? I can't see any difference

  • I love this man, & respect him greatly for his genius, which he uses for good in this world.

It was nice seeing him out of character too, a solid, honourable man.

  • what an unbelievably awkward time to ask him that....holy crap

  • is it hard going in and out" goddamn thats the best "THATS WHAT SHE SAID" ever

  • wow

  • I miss Tim. Meet the Press is not the same without him.

  • Really nice to see his true self. Fun.

  • cool guy.

  • in any other conversations regarding current events other than what has been discussed on these shows. And evenmoreso - when you discuss these topics with them, their knowledge is soooo shallow. It doesn't go past the depths of the witty one liners that Colbert and Stewarts writers have puked out. So ya - that is why I don't like them.

  • @doyleadd You say you dislike Colbert but you sound more like you dislike people who mindlessly watch the show without getting it. That's not his fault if some people in his audience don't get it. Colbert is a satirical genius and he is a smart man. Just because you've known people who "puke out" witty one-liners from the show doesn't take away from how good the show is. I respect your right to dislike the show, more power to you, but I just feel like your reasoning isn't that solid.

  • @TigerLuvr satirical genius is way overboard more like milking satire 101

  • @doyleadd The problem with you is that you have a superiority complex and that you think you're smarter and better than everyone else just because other teenagers your age didn't watch CNN and Fox as much as you did. People understand the jokes from the show, you just don't have a sense of humor. Why don't you bring yourself back down to earth?

  • Colbert mentioned it in this interview - that people *must* get their news somewhere else because then they wouldnt get the jokes. But thats just the point. People dont actually get their jokes - but they laugh because they know they are supposed to. They trick their own minds into thinking they get it. I mean, I hear jokes about politicians that I dont even get and I'm the only one my age that I know pays attention! I know that this is true because the people who watch these shows can't engage

  • Even today - the majority of people I know would slap the remote out of my hand if I left the channel on something informative. They would rather watch the Jersey Shore. BUT - they will all watch Colbert and Stewart. And I figured out why - its because all the friggin airheads I know watch the shows because they want to feel better about themselves. Even though the majority of them are just slugs - laughing at these shows make them FEEL knowledgeable and informed. BUT YOU ARENT

  • @doyleadd honk if you know 911 was an inside job... imagine what happens to my remote.

  • I'll explain why I don't like Colber or Stewart. I was in the extreme minority as a teenager who actually had a genuine interest in real world politics. For entertainment, I watched the news - on both sides. I didn't define myself as right or left. In fact, I was blind to the different prejudice of each channel. But I was severly out of the loop with all the crap going on with The Real World and whatever the devil it was kids paid attention to.

  • @doyleadd How can you not like him? He's hilarious in character and a class act out of character

  • @doyleadd no you dont like colbert because you agree with colbert. your reality was probably smashed when you watched this video and learned your favorite news anchor is a lie.

  • @doyleadd sorry i didn't get it all. i forgot to mention colbert is smart. he is a comedic genius. he really can say terrible things and people laugh because they know its not a real thought. go watch dane cook or some shit cause its on your level sorry colbert confused you.

  • @ProffesorChaosesFile also colbert is not that difficult to get you are fooling yourself into thinking you are elite for enjoying or "getting" his childish brand of humor that is based in satire and allegory two of the oldest and simplest forms of comedy. not saying his show should be condemned or anything its fine but you guys need to chill on the talk of colbert being a genius or a prodigy he has a show ripped off of a sketch on another show.

  • @ljjvl Please indicate to me where I stated it was hard to understand Colbert's comedy. You only assume that was what I said, because you assume that I think you are smart. I think you must be Bill fucking O'Reilly or some shit, because your personal vendetta against the viewers of Stewart and Colbert resembles his argument greatly. I am a teenager who has never viewed a moment of the Jersey Shore, but you probably would equate one of my favorite media sources, NPR, to the Jersey Shore.

  • @ProffesorChaosesFile calm down little guy youve gotten so upset that you have posted a comment that makes no sense. breath everything will be ok. you will learn how to communicate with time. and i like jon stewart, so if that helps

  • @ljjvl What about it didn't make sense?

  • @ProffesorChaosesFile also if a person cant understand that his show is humourousthey are either too young to know better or too dumb to help

  • @doyleadd Fair enough to not like him, I know a lot of people here are giving you crap for that. End of the day tho he's a very successful satirist maybe the most prolific one out there. Hell he got invited to the Bush press banquet to speak because they hadn't realized it was a character, that's impressive.

  • @doyleadd no sense of humor

  • Is it hard going in and out *pause* of character :P

  • That was...cool. More respect for Colbert as a person.

  • he looks alot like ted bundy but i still love him.

  • "You cant laugh and be afraid at the same time" .. quote is win!!!

  • fuck tim russert, and there was never such a thing as honest journalism

  • @wesmanavus You are property of the Rothschild family!

    /watch?v=jlOUXWQP-KM&feature=related

  • @tubeshok wut

  • @wesmanavus true dat.....

  • Tim Russert was one of the few news anchors I really enoyed watching. The days of honest journalism are dead.

  • Stephen kinda talks like Stewart.

  • I love you

    that's good dad, very dry

    fucking hilarious

  • who disliked this and for the love of god, why?

  • I didn't know he ever did OOC tv appearances. That was great. Sweet guy with a brilliant mind.

  • good man that stephen colbert...

  • I love how Tim has to add "of Character" at 1:40 most likely because what he originally says sounds sexual.

  • @tomizzo11 LOL

  • @tomizzo11 haha that was a good catch

  • @tomizzo11 I see what ya did there.

  • "Hiiii Tim!!" haha

  • In character, out of character...he is still hot

  • Dude, i'd go fuckin gay for colbert. And I ain't no mah fuckin homo.

  • @DarkTemplear

    sure bout that buddy

  • @93joeanthony NOT ENTIRELY ... :P

  • @DarkTemplear

where i come from that makes you a homo, lol.

  • Leme tell you, it's really hard to pull off what Stephen does. To embody the character so much and be able to switch it off? Almost impossible.

  • If you want to watch conservatives out argue liberals, watch FOXNEWS.

If you want to hear liberals preach to the choir, watch MSNBC.

  • @tnekkc What does your comment have to do with anything? Are you crazy or stupid?

  • he sounds like a pussy now

  • He's quite a good actor then! he's very different from his character.

  • Just a magic combination

  • Russert was brilliant, and his son seems to be coming on in the same vein as his dad. I miss Tim, and i'm keeping an eye on the boy.

  • Tim Russert was a liberal, but he asked hard questions of the left and the right.

The only tell was that he smiled at liberals, which you can see in this video.

  • @tnekkc and him being a "liberal" automatically makes anything he says magically un-true.. LOL LOL

  • @bigge525

Ever jump to a conclusion before, or is this your first fallacy?

  • @tnekkc Your right. Jumping to a conclusion is the same thing as trying to dismiss everything someone you don't like says as un-true by pointing out their perceived bias. ("liberal" or "conservative") What does true and un-true have to do with "left" and "right" or "liberal" and "conservative" again? Nothing. Only for people without enough education to know true and un-true has NOTHING to do with bias. Sorry.

  • @bigge525

There is no issue of true or untrue here.

You can lead a miserable and poor life with liberals making your decision for you, or you can lead a life that is the result of your own initiative, made possible by conservative freedoms.

Colbert does not lie, he is sarcastic about the conservative point of view he is expressing when in character.

Ok, if you want to wait in long lines for essentials.

  • @tnekkc Thank you for perfectly demonstrating why so few U.S. Conservatives have passed even community college level American Gov, Civics, Ethics, and logic. Why get an actual education to factually back up what you say when things are true "just because I say so" Right? The best part is your too misinformed and un-educated to know Colbert's character perfectly demonstrates how illogical, misinformed, and bigoted the American Conservative is! LOL :)

  • @bigge525

    "misinformed, uneducated, illogical, misinformed, bigoted"

Is that how a liberal admits he was beat in an argument?

I thought there were supposed to call someone a racist if they got beat.

  • @tnekkc Did you intentionally try to derail the argument when you couldn't understand the words? It's ok, pretty common practice among people who don't know what they are talking about. If you can't win, change the subject.

  • @tnekkc Your initial claim you're trying to reinforce is heavily flawed. You're imply that a liberal is incapable of living a happy life, and that conservatives are happy because they take initiative. Lolwut?

Not only are you biased, but it seems you're tripping over your own words trying to make an argument out of something that isn't really there.

Furthermore your inability to properly interpret even the most basic of arguments has left you looking foolish trying to debate.

  • @TBird4490

Liberalism is collectivism is shared misery.

That is not my idea... someone famous, a long time ago...

Anyway, I don't want to share my money with liberal leaches.

Get your own money, you liberal thieves, and keep you liberal taxes off my wealth.

  • @tnekkc LMAO. I doubt you make enough to be heavily taxed anyways.

That quote could not be found in a google search by anybody. Enlighten me, who said that?

You know it's a proven fact that taxing the rich doesn''t produce a vast surplus of jobs? Where were the Jobs when the Bush Tax Cuts were put in place? Where were the jobs then.

Clinton put 23 MILLION PEOPLE TO WORK from taxing wealthier Americans, and we had A SURPLUS DURING HIS PRESIDENCY. Explain that to me please.

  • @TBird4490

Clinton tried hard to screw the economy, but Newt was too strong, and cut spending and ended welfare as we know it.

Type into Google [and I own lots of Google stock], "shared misery".

  • @tnekkc How did Clinton try hard to screw the economy? Unfortunately, general statements like that are not taken seriously by ANYBODY unless you can reinforce them with facts. Cite your sources.

Between my nephew and myself, and my wifes side of the family, we collectively own 13% of Google stock.

  • @TBird4490

    Increasing taxes wrecks the economy.

    Decreasing taxes grows the economy.

    Clinton wanted to raise taxes.

  • @tnekkc And he did.

Notice how we had a surplus??? Herp derp. It's factual there was a surplus while he was president because he raised taxes. Google it!

  • @TBird4490

    Taxes to help the economy.

Sound like doctors bleeding the patient.

That was in favor for hundreds of years.

  • @tnekkc Taxes to help the economy.

    Medicine for the ill.

    It works.

  • Comment removed

  • @TBird4490

The stimulus is like bleeding a starving man, so you can feed him his own blood.

It works, but with an efficiency of less than 100%.

It is a net drag on the system.

Liberals can believe whatever. They typically read fiction. Suspended disbelief is a skill needed for the liberal faith. Fantasy based politics. Big gov is always bad, but that doesn't stop liberals from believing in it.

  • @tnekkc So you're implying we never should have had a stimulus? Ever? None of that $700 billion? What would you have done? How would you have allocated money? Big government is necessary, otherwise you have banks giving loans people can't afford, and in many cases lying about it, and leading to ANOTHER housing bubble.

Small government may have worked in the 1800s and early 1900's.. not anymore. Different times require different laws.

You mixed up parties LOL. Liberals read FACTS. Derp

  • @TBird4490 That is correct. No war in Iraq. No stimulus. No Obama care. No welfare. No social security. No gun control. No public schools. No food stamps. No jobs program. No global warming propaganda paid for with taxes. No second hand smoke propaganda paid for with taxes. And most of all.... NO BAILOUTS OF BANKS OR CAR COMPANIES If we had more freedom from gov, we would have more prosperity. Everyone would be happier, and black males would not have a felony conviction rate of over 50%.
  • @tnekkc Wow. I can't believe yous aid that. No stimulus = economy would have been fucked. Your views, and I think everybody else would agree with me, are severely misguided and outright extreme. If we never bailed the banks and Wall Street out, the global economy would have been screwed. Nobody LIKES the banks and Wall street, but it's a fact we would have been screwed.

Nobody is arguing about Iraq lmao. Nobody wants to be there.

  • @tnekkc Like are you really serious when you say all this? lol. I really need to know. Are you trying to troll? Or are you just so brainwashed that you legitimately believe these things lol.

  • @tnekkc i would like to suggest that both of you desist from this type of misinformed on both sides arguments. bigge is getting over excited and making some bad statements and tnekkc is just embarrassing himself

  • @ljjvl

    Are you drinking and typing?

  • @tnekkc clever ... its ok i didnt expect much of a comeback anyways.

  • @tnekkc and if you are referring to typing errors i lost 3 fingers and 70 % of my dexterity in my right hand earning a purple heart in vietnam. your welcome

  • @ljjvl ohh you just took them down a notch, I'm canadian, but damn good job soldier, you don't need stranger's appreciation anyway

  • is it hard going in and out... of character?

  • "when you laugh the laughter goes away"

  • Tim we miss you buddy!

  • He sounds like Edward Norton
